    Awesome! Thanks for sharing.
How wide is your rope ladder?
What do you think would be the optimal width for such a home-made ladder?

I usually look for saving space and weight in my backpack, while having gear that still does the job well, so I don't endanger my life. If your priorities are the same, then you may want to do it as narrow as possible, but not as narrow as to lock your foot under the side ropes. A good rule of thumb is to have the distance between the vertical ropes (i.e. the distance between the two holes from each stick) 1-2 cm larger than the width of your widest outdoor shoes, measured at its widest point. If you make the steps of the ladder unnecessary longer, not only the ladder will take more space in your backpack, but the sticks will bend or arch easier under your weight (the longer they are, the easier they will bend). From the hole to the stick margin you may leave just 1 cm.

@@romanianshadow In the specs, they say "up to 3 months". I assumme that is the case if nothing moves in front of the camera to trigger it's capturing. In my case, I've always had it triggered by something (at least wind moving branches, or insects)... I can only say that, for example, once I left for 3 weeks with brand new alcaline batteries, it caught about 8 videos, 59 seconds long each, and the batteries appeared consummed about 40% at the end of the 3 weeks.
      I hope this helps.
