Her dialogue after you beat her is one rare instance of a character directly using her ability. Yachie's ability is making people lose the will to fight, and that's why the heroine follows her obediently without much question.
Yachie's power is literally just Jedi mind tricks. I want fanart of her saying "these aren't the droids you're looking for." What I like about the beast spirit mechanic is that you don't _have_ to mix and match to get extra lives. The reason UFO is joked about in the fandom is because matching UFOs was so much more necessary to succeed, but here you can just collect them. I like Yachie's design because of obvious reasons but I'm not sure I like her personality/goals... especially in the endings, yikes. She has my favorite spellcards in this game, though. They're all so janky! Wasn't that surprised to see Omega die twice here, I guess. But there's one thing that I still don't get: how does aggressively shooting at someone count as "following" them? [2:35] Edit: I just realized that the rare beast spirit in this stage is translated as "turtle" despite Yachie being a tortoise. I was at first going to blame Bee, then blame Omega, but it looks like the actual culprit is either ZUN or the translators.
3:46 Well I guess we have a proper main villain for the next Super Marisa games to come... Until now, the closest thing we had to Bowser was Suika (or Utsuho, sometimes).
I do love how stage 4 is one massive contrast to everything in the game up until this point, including Yachie. I'm not sure if ZUN knew, but the only way to capture her last spell on lunatic is to actually to manipulate her movement, because if you take the wrong path, she fires rings differently and you get walled. In short, to defeat the mafia leader you cannot just graze and stream, you actually need to do some mindgames.
I don't think so. Her last spell more or less follows the same path that only changes slightly when she moves. With some practice you can memorize the spell and find yourself a path to move through the rings.
Yachie's theme is probably one of my favorites from this game purely due to how much it suits her. It's so serene sounding at first, and slowly picks up as the theme continues, eventually picking up a somewhat menacing sound.
Apparently (by that I mean that I google'd for like 5 minutes), the Animal Realm is something from the Buddhism mythology. In short there are Six Realms which are more like states of mind or existance. Your earned karma during your live in the Human Realm would determine which Realm will you live after your reencarnation. In Touhou, it seems that people can go through one Realm to other physically (I mean, Marisa is in Hell, one of the Six Realms) so it makes sense that people can get to the Animal Realm through there.
6:06 You actually helped me a lot here! I've been having difficulties with this spell, but after watching this video, I decided to give this spell a go again! And even though you died at the part with the blue and purple bullet circles, I was eventually able to come up with a way to successfully capture the spellcard without getting hit (in spellcard practice mode)! So, thanks for that!
Heh So we meet again eh? heheh wasn`t expecting to see ya here. ah this be the only Touhou game I haven`t finished and dunno if I can it has been awhile since I played a bullet Touhou I know 100% fact my skills I once had are down the drain and gone oof. There is no way I will able to beat this one.
7:15 I think I remember a manga where something like that happened. The main villain (who turns out to be the big D himself), wrote himself into the main character's memories so that he remembers him as an old childhood friend. Though the most recent versions of the story instead have him actually be there when the main character was a child.
I love this stage theme so much!!! It's such a blast coming right after Kutaka's theme, it's just... gaaaaaaaahhh I love this theme 0:10 - I think you mean "funny as _Stage 4_"~ I love this joke and ain't no one gonna make me stop using it 2:34 - Yeah... Good luck doing that in Hard or Lunatic 3:06 - Gotta say, I love that the background for this stage is just skulls... Nothing screams "EDGY" more than that 3:41 - Yachie Kicchou, Matriarch of the Kiketsu Family, a Tojo Clan subsidiary- OH SHIT wrong franchise! 4:40 - Ugh, her non-spells are harder to dodge when you're in Berzerker Mode... GOD those yellow bullets... 6:08 - This one's pretty much static, yeah the bullets come from Yachie and she does move around, but it never gets too bad where your perfect route from practice is just destroyed completely 6:52 - I know right?! "Who the Stage 4 are you?", "Who the here are you?" it's just perfect
HATE this stage, mostly because bullet visibility is negative here, so you *need* roars to darken the screen enough to dodge shit. And I still think Yachie's midboss attack is harder than what she pulls on her boss fight (feels faster somehow). Still though, I'm actually surprised you died to 2 of Kicchou's cards, given they are surprisingly easy compared to standard Stage 4 bosses. I mean her 3rd still bamboozles me from time to time, but her 1st is so free.. Oh and fun fact: dialogue changes slightly if you go with Otter as your goast, where "You" apologize to Kicchou and the protagonist wonders why the hell she apologized. It's also nice that she changes dialogue when referring to your chosen spirit: Dependable as expected (Wolf), warrior of avarice (Eagle) or sneak attacker (Otter), with the last one also asking you to remember the iron-clad law of the Kiketsu family and cosplay as EX Okina to attack from the rear
So wait, Eagle-Marisa and Wolf-Youmu are perfect matches then? I mean, "dependable as expected" is probably how Yuyuko sees Youmu, and "warrior of avarice" literally sounds like a description of Marisa. … Meanwhile, sneak attacker Reimu. XD
Fun fact, the special midboss token would only take 4 grazed bullets instead of 10 if one plays on Easy difficulty. This is also the only instance in this entire game where grazing does ANYTHING. It doesn't even do anything for score or PIV. goddamnit bee it's been one year since the spawn of bowsette and i did not need to be reminded of that garbage fetish oc yet again ...how did you game not lag from the bullet cancel on Tortoise Shell Hell?! That spell was actually one thing that was needed to be fixed in version 1.00b. If you took down that spell with a bomb in 1.00a, the game would crash. And even with that fixed, normally the bullet cancel lags the game to unbearable rates. What the hell kind of PC do you even have?! Let's be honest, Yachie's nons are just Border of Wave and Particle, while Dragon Crest Bullets is just a harder version of Satori's final ReimuC spell. EDIT: Oh yeah, finally 5K subs!!!
About Tortoise Shell, I think either depending on your character/shot type or on how you defeat the spell, the game won't lag sometimes. My pc is not that powerful and I have seen instances while playing where it would lag really bad, other times just a little and at one time it even didn't lag at all
Dragon Crest Bullet on Lunatic is an impressively dense and quite the beautiful pattern to look at. Also fun to dodge. It actually gets denser over time; so dense that if you time it out, the game hits the bullet cap and can't spawn some of the rings properly.
Is it just me, or does this stage have really poor bullet visibility? Here we have flashy white bullets with a red outline and dark red bullets on a red and dark red background, which makes it really hard to see...
I don't have any problems with it honestly Either because i'm a digital artist or just play too much bullet hell games that i know what the fuck's going on
So Yachie's ability is essentially the ultimate charisma? also hate to be redundant but: red-white=wolf=reimu blue-white=eagle=marisa(she has been more blue-white than black-white recently) green-white=otter=youmu(youmu's more green white then sanae i guess, i dunno)
Ah good, Yachie. Fun boss eh? (I don't care about Yachie as a boss) :) Her boss fight feels like she's literally using Her ability to make the PLAYERS lose their will to fight.
Honestly her first spellcard is seriously mind manipulating because it stops abruptly only to sprout an incoming line thats starting to aim at you, only for a new one to appear again. Its even worse since the patterns make a Hexagon shape, but it overlaps each other, giving this optical illusion that you're expecting a complete hexagon shape again, messing with your placement
This is where the game gets really good. Yachie is pretty easy as far as Stage 4 bosses are concerned. "Dragon Crest Bullets" is honestly the only hard attack, mostly just because of how confusing it is to keep track of so many circles expanding and collapsing. Could either go really well or really bad. Pretty funny how we were going the wrong way up until Yachie, yet Yachie also basically sends us the wrong way. It all works out, I suppose.
The reason the Animal Realm is next to hell, is because it's the Animal Realm of the Six Paths in Buddhism. The more you know!
Thanks

"How does aggressively shooting at someone count as following them?"
Because Touhou
4:59 seeing that near perfect bomb cache go up in smoke physically hurt me
4:36 She can breathe fire. She really is Touhou mafia Bowser.
3:46 Well I guess we have a proper main villain for the next Super Marisa games to come...
Until now, the closest thing we had to Bowser was Suika (or Utsuho, sometimes).

now i want a mod to replace otter with capybara
That means sakuya and sanae could also be wolf since they both do everything instead of their bosses

tails41yoshi The Subterranean Aneurysm vibes are booming
funny considering what we have starting tomorrow
The mafia and Bowsette... Bee better be careful or we'll add "one dated cultural reference" to the quota.

Heck, the entire game has problems with bullet visibility
I don't have any problems with it honestly

So that's what hell looks like... pretty sure shinki might've been busy since touhou 5.
Shinki rules Makai, not Hell.
@@hjt091 makai, hell, who cares... All I know is that she was busy...
I mean we went to hell 6 main games ago in SA.
@@Team_Orchid good point..

seems like Yukari's boundary of wave and particle

I like this theme song :3
Bowsette is best 2hu
they really went all out in this stage huh?
