Nice video, thanks. I'm not sure, but next to the USA flag, that is a time frame that was on a daily. I think that should be on lower time frame because on a daily, you haven't got pre and post market data!? 🤔
Hey Tracey! I've been watching some of your content and it has been really helpful! I have a question: What's the difference between pre-market change % VS pre-market gap %? I see you have both in your column customization. Does one of them takes the previous day's close and the other one the change after the close (from open after hours of previous day to close of pre-market of current day)? Hope that makes sense. I have a hard time understanding the key difference as they seem to give similar numbers but clearly not the same. I want to use the one that gives you the change from the previous day close.
Hello Juan... Great question: Here you go: Pre-Market Change From Open % = This is the change % from the open of the pre-market (4am EST) to the current pre-market price. Pre-Market Change %: This is from the open post-market to the current pre-market price. Pre-Market Gap %: This is from the market close to the pre-market open. This will be a static price once the pre-market has opened. Unfortunately none of these calculate the dynamic change from the market close to the current pre-market price. And there are no other pre-market % filters available at this time. I hope that helps. Thanks again for the question and for watching... Super glad you found it useful.
I have only used it effectively on the US stocks. In Canada I don't have access to pre market data so I know it won't work in Canada for that reason. So in order for this to work the data going into tradingview would require the pre market data.
Hey Tracey! Need your help with this question. Hopefully you're still replying to comments on this video! What is the difference between: gap % & pre-market gap % Looking forward to your reply.
Hi Tracy, thank you for this great screener tip! Have you any suggestions for how to set up the screener for day and Swingtrading? I listen to you at the podcast where you talked about that you look for hammers and lower wick shadows for setups, and you use Finwis for this screening. Have you any suggestions for the same screening in Tradingview. I see that you can use "pattern" as a filter and then apply the hammer and lower wick shadow as an option. Maybe a short video about this? :-) Regards from Oslo, Norway!
Thank you Oslo. Great suggestions. Unfortunately, the pattern finder in TradingView is fairly poor. But I will look at doing a video on alternate scans etc. So glad you listen to the podcast, I hope you find value and thanks for the support!!! Cheers!
This may be a stupid question, but what do you use the post market setup for? I get the pre-market but not the post-market. You're just continuing looking for trades in the after-hours with a different setup? Great video btw! Thanks for this.
Thank you and great question. I personally don’t use the post market. I had it set up for demonstration due to the time of day I may have been recording the tutorial. That being said, there are other traders that do some preparation the night before. Seeing the post market gap can give you an insight into that. Also curiosity. There are also other traders who trade in the after hours market both pre and post. Hope that helps clarify things!
If you have set up a pre market scanner it won't show up until the market opens for the pre market. If you are setting up a post market scanner it will show up only for the post hours at the end of the day. I hope that helps.
I got a 9% on RIOT from your screener and a awesome 45% runner FUBO with your screener AND one of Jerremy’s 5yr old gap videos. Super thank you to your team!!!!!
Do you ever use the Momentum (10) filter in the screener? If yes what are your thoughts on that filter, will it help to find intraday momentum stocks for day trading?
Hey Judy, great question, in short no I have not used it but I will look into it and see how it works. If any of our subscribers do use it, we would love to hear your thought!
That filter "Last" that you have applied does not come up on my trading view screener, could it be named something else now?
Yup, it's all changed and needs a new updated video. It's now called price.
Thanks, i gonna start to follow you. i alway had problem to set up this screener on trading view.
Glad I could help!
Tracy - Great Video. I liked how I was able to follow your setup rules.
Awesome John!!!
Tracy thank you a lot. Your vid hasn't yet got any dislikes. Wonderfull content. Greetings from Europe.
Thank you! Greetings back!
Thanks Tracy, Short, Sweet and to the Point. Very informative!
You are very welcome!
Very nice video. Most appreciated.
You bet!!!
Thank you. I learnt something new :)
SWEEEEET
Informative! Maybe a tutorial or review on their screener alerts? I am not sure if those alerts are realtime.
Great suggestion and yes they are real time.
Nice video, thanks. I'm not sure, but next to the USA flag, that is a time frame that was on a daily. I think that should be on lower time frame because on a daily, you haven't got pre and post market data!? 🤔
Nope it needs to be on a daily, it's scanning for daily gaps. To analyze the gap, yes, you'll need to drop down into a lower time frame.
Thanks Tracy! But how does the alert for the screener work and what can one set it up for and what parameters will the alarm go off for?
Thanks got watching. Great question. I will do a video on this so stay tuned. I’ll have it out within the next week.

Hi, whats the filter for % Change From Previous Close?
::
Thanks for the insight. Do you think you need to purchase the extra $5 month feed with NYSE and Nasdaq for this to work in TradingView?
yes
Does the gap filter only work on US stocks? It can't seems to filter out foreign stocks. Thanks for sharing.
I have only used it effectively on the US stocks. In Canada I don't have access to pre market data so I know it won't work in Canada for that reason. So in order for this to work the data going into tradingview would require the pre market data.
very good video, informative and well done
🙂
Thanks Tracy, very helpful and appreciate you taking the time to do this!
Any time!

Is it possibile for low intraday time frame?
Yes, the screener will work as low as 1 minute.

Thank you!!!
You're welcome!
Will this valid for crypto market? With Daily TF for scan and 1m for trade? Also those line is that 50/200 EMA? Many thanks
Crypto doesn't gap. so you probably don't want to use it for that :)
But other technical analysis does work for crypto, yep!
Good stuff, thanks for sharing! I've never used the TV screener. Can always use one more tool for the tool belt :)
You bet!
Hi I cant find "Last" on my screener. Am I missing something?
It's now price

@@RealLifeTrading it does. Thank you!
Thank you Tracy. Great video!

I created the TradingView screener as you have shown. But, it shows 0 results. Does this only show results at a certain point after market?
If you have set up a pre market scanner it won't show up until the market opens for the pre market. If you are setting up a post market scanner it will show up only for the post hours at the end of the day. I hope that helps.
Sweet!
You use Daily time frame in the morning or 1 minute?
Daily is for the scan. 1 min is to actually trade :)
@@RealLifeTrading this video enriched my life this morning. 26%, but I was super confident. Thank you!

@@XploitDaPoor gorgeous!!!!!!!
Thank you alot :)
You're welcome!
Is this really able to predict gap up stocks for next day trading ? if so , any one can confirm ? thanks
No it does not predict gap up stocks. It scans for actual gaps at the time.
