OMG. Made these for Thanksgiving and they were a hit. I'm making more right now as we speak. I've been cooking collards for years but these are the best I've ever made. This is the only recipe I'll use moving forward. Thanks Rosie!!
I came across this recipe a few years back, when I very first decided to try my hand at making homemade greens. This is SUCH a delicious and simple recipe!!! I've made them several times since then, and this year my parents asked me to make some for the green component of our New Year's Day meal. I realized I've never said thank you for what has become a bit of a family staple on holidays! My Dad has to watch his sodium intake, but maaaaan does he appreciate getting to enjoy these once or twice a year, and he's said that they may be the best collards he's ever eaten! Very much appreciate the simple to follow instructions and video. 🥬🥬🥬💖
Listen to me y’all!! I made these tonight and they were my best greens ever. I used 1 jalapeño pepper and followed her recipe to t. I used adobo seasoning instead of seasoning salt. I will forever use this recipe.
I made these (it was first time ever making collard greens) and this may be literally the best food I have ever cooked. thank you for your clear instruction and thank you for recording this recipe for other people to use
omg... I used this recipe this year for my first time cooking greens for thanksgiving!! big hit.. I couldn't stop eating them!! I used a red onion and some cayenne pepper... so amazing! thank you again.
girllll the way i didnt know how to cook like 3 years ago and now i can cook everything and i be too happy when ppl come over and eat and be shouting at how unbelievably good it is. i been watching for years and cooking along. your dishes are bomb. will deff try this!
Hi Rose! I finally had the opportunity to make this dish for my husband and a friend of ours yesterday. I used smoked turkey wings along with the chopped onion, red bell pepper, two jalapenos, diced (de-seeded & de-veined). And I didn't forget a couple pinches of red pepper flakes. It was to *die* for! We all loved it! Made your southern cornbread to go with it. Although the cornbread turned out a little dry (I forgot to check it the last five minutes of baking), we just put the greens and the pot liquor over our servings, and it helped a lot! Believe it or not, my mother's family (parents and siblings) are from Syracuse, NY, and so are her four children, but my dad was from Texas. We also know a lot of people from the south (Georgia, Florida, Texas, South Carolina, Louisiana, etc), and many of them introduced us to "soul food." Not sure of the rest of my siblings, but I love it! Thank you so much for sharing your recipes with all of us. I visit your website from time to time, and they all look soooo good! God bless you and your family!
OMG, those look delicious! I am a southern belle and I cannot live without collard greens, lol. I am always looking for new ways to make mine. Thanks for this recipe, i will be trying it.
My first time making collard greens was 2 nights ago. I made this recipe and it was so good! My 17 year old son said 'u have to make this again' lol I went and bought some greens today. I'll be making this again tomorrow.
Yay this is hell of easy to make, and I've always had them at Golden corral, but for some reason I'm sure this are going to be even better. I 💗 this channel.
Yall, when I say these greens had so much flavor! I did all of it in one pot. I sauted an onion, green pepper, red pepper and garlic first and then followed the recipe after that. This is how I'm making my greens from here on out! Thank you Rosie! You always come through!
I cooked these greens the way you did my only substitution was I use chicken bullion instead of chicken broth and I used the bacon but I also used a smoked turkey wing and 1 ham hock and it was amazing I love all your videos
I Love collard greens! I like to cut my greens across the stem because the stem (not the thick part) is packed with flavor after the greens have cooked. Also, SMOKED TURKEY in collards is AWESOME! Nice job Rosie!
This recipe was a huge hit at the party. I tried to take the small amount left over and someone grabbed my BOWL! I can say this recipe will be in the family for quite sometime :) Thank you for sharing!
I found this video months ago and decided to plant some collard greens. They grew really easy and today i made them. My first bite was like where has this been all my life ! I ate half a skillet full and was full but it was so good i wanted more . Thank you very much for this video !

Your greens look delicious. I cook mine with smoked turkey ,onions red pepper flakes and seasonings of course and pop it all in the crock pot. That way I don't have to watch them and the flavor goes all through the greens !!
