Forget night at the museum... come along as we spend a night at the zoo! That's right, we slept at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park and it was a blast! Join us as we get to experience private tours, after hours inside the park, and the roaring of lions as we get ready for bed. This is truly a one of a kind experience that you can enjoy as a couple or with the whole family. The next time get one of the premium tents. It comes with a very comfy queen sized bed all fitted with linens and pillows plus a fan in your room.

It’s huge! It’s actually 2 parks, the SD Zoo and the SD Zoo Safari Park. We had a great time!

Wow. A perfect family destination. Incredible place..loved that cute baby rhino running with his mommy..awesome experience to sleep inside these cozy tents giving you a feeling of being out in the nature ..whoa witnessing a lion roaring like that ..what an amazing experience.
It was so awesome! The baby rhino was so cute!! And apparently she doesn’t come out very often so we were very lucky to see her!

What a super fun experience!!! Love to see the animals, but love the fact you guys stopped at McDonald's and keeping it real! The kids in the background during the tour is just so precious!!! There is NOTHING IN THERE!!! 300 USD for an empty tent!?!? Good thing it comes with tours and food!? That's a special experience, but I'm surprised there is nothing inside... Real is what we’re all about! Yes we, lol spend $300 on a tent BUT we offset it with a $20 McD’s meal! The tours definitely made up for the empty tent. And just knowing we’re helping with conservation efforts is enough, to be honest 💙
California is the most beautiful state with the best things to do!

We love the San Diego Zoo but hadn't been to their Safari Park yet. It looks pretty awesome. I love that they had an event where's people could sleep over at the safari park. That would be a cool experience. Thanks for taking us along!

Road trips are the best!! Oooh I love to see people paragliding, i really wanna do it! This looks like a great safari park, plenty of space for the animals to roam around! The tour guide seems really funny! I'm surprised the tent was completely empty lol! Omg that would terrify me in the night, waking up to the sound of lions roaring!! I'd forget where I am and think they're coming to get me 😂 I have never tried smores either. Looks like you get loads included for the money, looks great! 💙
There was a moment where I thought, what if a lion escapes? But I shrugged it off pretty quickly! Lol! The tour guides were so awesome! They were knowledgeable and really seemed to care about the animals. We really want to paraglide as well!!
Hey guys...not sure about the safari park but definitely went to see the San Diego zoo back in 2013...I think the pandas were big then. Looks like this us a separate part of the park.
We have an experience like this here in Australia, it's an amazing nights stay and I woke up to giraffes outside my door in the morning. The sounds you heard on the night tour were very cool and those smores looked yummy.
Fyi..definitely do paragliding one day 🤣🤣

Yes, this is a completely separate park, part of the same park family though. Oh wow, we love giraffes! We got to see them on this trip but weren’t sleeping close to them. We were nestled between the elephants and the lions. We 100% want to do paragliding and a hot air balloon!

Not scary at all. It’s a safari park so although they have lots of space to roam there’s also a lot of security measures in place. Thank you so much for watching! 🙂
my kids school will be having their field trip in this particular place any tips? do you need to bring your own sleeping bag? thank you for sharing your adventure!
Definitely bring your own sleeping bag and pillow! Maybe even a light blanket if they get cold easily. I’d also recommend a small towel in case they’d like to wash their face before bed. There’s no showers on the premises. Nowhere to charge electronics either so if your child has a phone make sure it’s fully charged and if you have a portable charger it’ll come in handy!
What did you guys bring to kill time in the tent? I don’t think they have electricity like that in the tent! But this experience is so awesome!
Honestly we didn't spend much time in the tent. They have smores at the camp fire and a night walk of the part of the park. But when we were in the tent we brought a few external chargers and a tablet to watch movies/TH-cam on.
It is definitely worth it. We would like to go again when it's an adult only version of it. They do different activities.
This would be something the gals would love to do, ill have to see if the national zoo has anything like this. Hopefully the rhinos start getting busy soon🤣.

So you sleep on the floor? ???
Yup! They have some mats you can lay down for a little cushioning but you’re sleeping on the floor. They have fancier tents with beds but there’s only a few so they sell out quickly, plus they’re more expensive. Not sure how much they cost.
How much did it cost for both of you?
It was $150 per person, included food and all the tours as well as the tent we slept in. You do also have to buy a ticket to the park which I want to say was $59 per person but don’t quote me on that.
How close do you see the elephant's
Really close! The area you sleep in is actually right next to their enclosure.
