- Written in 1941 by Harry Warren, with lyrics by Mack Gordon. It was originally recorded as a big band/swing tune by Glenn Miller and His Orchestra and featured in the 1941 movie Sun Valley Serenade.
I arranged this as a Horn in Eb feature, to celebrate my 1 year anniversary of playing the horn! It's been an unexpectedly fun instrument to learn - a few "blue notes" still get blurted out from time to time, but I figure if I stick to jazz, no-one will notice ;-p.

Instrumentation: 2 Trumpets, Horn, Trombone and Tuba. In the video I play the Tuba part on my Flugel down two octaves. - เพลง
sounding crisp! happy horniversary 🍾
Thanks Seb! 🙌
When I think of a Valve Trombone I think of Juan Tizol who played w/ Duke Ellington
"Nothing could be finer than to have your ham and eggs in Carolina!"
Groove Machine!
🚂🚂🚂 fun piece, superbly written& performed 🚄🚄🚄👏👏👏💐
Old enough to remember glen miller ( at least in folklore ) a great version keeping the spirit alive
Therapist: Trombone with valves isn't real, it can't hurt you

Hey Maeve, you surpass all the auditions with flying colours! Gorgeous arrangement, playing and interpretation. Super one-person band.
Thanks Peet!
A piece that I'd love to hear in your brass version is "With a cat-like tread" from Pirates of Penzance.
🙂🙏🏻
That’s really awesome you are playing everything and it sounds PHENOMENAL
What a treat!! Stayed at the Chattanooga Choo Choo Hilton years ago! Of course, Glenn Miller made this a classic! Thanks for sharing, Maeve! [Greetings from Tucson.]
Greate, nice verstón,
Yea Tenor Horn! Nice job on the arranging and the playing. The solos are interesting but not too technical (even though you could have easily gone that direction). I like the bouncy style of playing. You really sell it!
Thanks Bob, I wanted to make it a nice playable chart for social brass quintets.
Really like this one. Tenor horn is, of course, the best brass instrument - glad you're enjoying playing it. Great arrangement too.
Another wonderful arrangement! Really enjoyed it.
wow great timing and phrasing, swings really hard!
Wonderful 🤩
I love how much fun you look like you're having when playing! Great arrangement and great playing!
Excepcional, espectacular la versión ,muy bella interpretación.bravisimo Marce lander
Awesome Maeve! 👍
Great sound. Could you speak a bit about playing the flugelhorn down two octaves? I’m not familiar with the flugelhorn’s range and am considering getting one to play around with.
Hi Chris, the flugelhorn's range is quite limited. It sounds good (and plays easily) really only about 1.5 to 2 octaves. A good player can push it up a few more notes, but anything higher sounds thin and feels rather unnatural. In my opinion, it's an instrument best for beautiful, slow, mellow, melodies in the comfortable middle range - on the stave! To that end, I also favour a large deep mouthpiece. Absolutely NOT a trumpet mouthpiece! So if you love that dark sound and slow, melodic playing, then you will love the Flugel. If you're a player that delights in fast, technical work, with showy leaps and impressive articulation, then trumpet is probably where your heart will stay. 🙂
For the tuba part in these videos I record on the Flugel, then drop it 2 octaves using the software.
