She was a wonderful role model for me...I will ALWAYS love this woman. I loved her then and now. She was my best friend in my head. I listened to ALL her music like every day. Honestly, I feel like she doesn't even try to sing but the tone that comes out is angelic. It is effortless. That voice is magic. I am in love with it. Can not get enough of it. And she was so flippin young! Unbelievable. And I need to comment on the clothes. WHO CARES?? A young woman who dresses and dances with tact is somehow not appreciated?????? One of the reasons I loved this performance is because she is such a great role model. NO YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE HALF NAKED GRINDING ON STAGE TO BE GREAT. Thank you, Brandy. That voice though. Sigh...love love love.

I’m in love with Brandy, her music, movies and Moesha. I was born in 2003, so I wasn’t alive to witness her peak but it’s a shame to see that most of my friends don’t even know who she is. Her stage presence was amazing how artists back then could cover up during concerts and have sold out stadiums. It was their vocals and dancing that made them popular, but now singers have to wear practically nothing and don’t have to have a good voice to do well in the industry.
Side note - Her backup singers were terrible, especially during U Don’t Know Me 😂😂

@@CurlyHair-km5vs Britney was out. Britney made her first awards show appearance, presenting, on the '99 AMA's Brandy hosted. This tour was several months later. The teen pop explosion had happened, and yes, the design of this tour definitely played into that. One of the boy bands actually opened for Brandy on this tour and they went against another ensemble summer tour with multiple teen pop and R&B acts. Brandy headlined all alone and held her own, even though the show was plagued with problems.

Because she was promoting her new album and had a platform on upn, as moesha, she did the concert, but I don't think she really wanted to... I just get a "have freelance fun on stage to cover up not being committed" feeling from her and even some of her dancers.
