Magazines are a weirdly overlooked category I deal in. I've sold them for $150 and for $10 and every amount in between. Just because they're old, doesn't mean they are worth anything. All the ones I sold for over $100 were punk/gothic magazines I bought in the 80s. There are some very specific niches you can learn about but I would never suggest someone buy a big box of old mags for a lot of money. Doing research before you buy saves a lot of heartache. Finding what appeals to you and learning about pricing is a great way to start.
I ran across those old beckett books, the price guides for old sports cards, and I ended up with the first 19 of each sport at least 10 of each, but it was a blast from the past, bc I used to sale cards at the local flea marker and it brought back so many memories, so I bought all of them, haven't even tried to list one, I just think they're too cool to list! I don't think I'll ever run across them again, especially in top shelf condition!
Are you asking who the artist is on the LP? Probably not your question but I will answer that one.. lol. Gilmour is Pink Floyd's former guitarist (when Roger Waters was lead singer (after the Sid Barrett fiasco) as lead) turned lead singer. I have some of his solo stuff but like him most of all with Floyd. .. .sorry, my Floyd obession is showing. I think I could teach a class.. lol
What's happening with the hats is the same as the t shirt category, shoes etc. 10 years ago there was 10 of one thing listed. Now there's 500. Unbelievably hard to compete unless you have the best price. Pricing knowledge is everything.
I may have to stop following! David Gilmour is the guitarist from Pink Floyd. One of the greatest guitarists of all time! And...I'm not going anywhere. Love the content
Thank you Kevin for sending the replacement Wallen ornament for the one that never arrived - this one got here with no issues (I'm thinking the PO was making sure ALL my packages got delivered after that one). It's the cutest thing and Reagan (sp?) did a great job. Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas!
my history teacher coach Higgins and coach Adams taught me alot I still remember their lesson sometimes it takes me back Iam 51 now once a teacher always a teacher
I’ve delved into pretty much every category both small and over saturated. Vintage jewelry is a big maybe… signed is good- but there a lot of pieces that aren’t signed that bring big bucks. Ephemera another category has a lot of layers. Books. Christmas- especially Hallmark- some good some wah wah… Right now I’m listing rocks and minerals. The list goes on and on…
I'm still learning every single day, and my phone is out 100% of the time when I'm at the thrift stores or flea markets checking active/sold/STR so I spend money wisely. I am getting better with Electronics, Cameras, Lemax and Dept 56 Pieces, Toys/Hess Trucks, Plush, and so much more. The category I zero knowledge in and frankly don't have the patience for is clothes. That being said I would like to learn what to BOLO for when it comes to clothes; t-shirts mainly.
Not sure if you are going to mention it, but a lot of sealed VHS are used and resealed to sell once a rental store no longer rents them. I see them all of the time. David Gilmour from PINK FLOYD.
I won 4 VHS players for $4 on an online auction and just wanted to experiment. One cord was cut in half, one front was taped on, and none powered up. Off to the recycle center I go! A few other items more than made up, but I’m not too happy this online auction was not up front about the things that were obvious but did not show in the pics.
That's what they do. Even my regular monthly auctions I have been buying from for many years will do a number on you. I'm not sure if it's intentional or not but I make money off him so I keep buying I just accept the occasional kick in the pants.
Kevin, I love to watch your videos, what sold and the teaching! The history lessons are great, some I remember, some I don't 😂😂! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family!
25:30 minutes in... why I won't purchase a Nativity Set (yet). Looking for a set that ACTUALLY correctly depicts the skin tone. Thank you for all you do in your sharing and teaching!
Finally saw a Rhode Island license plate in the Commonwealth Cabin. But there were a stack of board games in front of it. Little Rhody gets no respect. 😁
Roger Waters and Dave Gilmour are like the Page, and Plant of Pink Floyd..I can never find good hats.. except for UK hats .but I'm in KY n we bleed blue! Keep up the good work! Merry Christmas to your family!
Little thing about brothers and sisters in the ancient times, they didn't have the term cousin. So back then, your cousins were called brothers and sisters. This is a little bit of the cause for the confusion on if someone is a brother or not etc. Lots of words have changed a lot. Like apple originally was just reference to a certain type of fruit category, not a apple specifically.
So question is that a flat rate ship and is it usually more than that to actually ship your just making up the difference. I have a couple boxes of old hats in waiting just haven’t tackled them yet.
I am confused here. I agree with your actual. Price to ship a hat. Although that varies of course by location. I charge the buyer a flat rate. Do you charge the buyer the calculated rate.
Another chaos free video. I love Dave but all the I did this wrong I did that wrong is a bit much. That Gilmour album is a wonderful album with guest appearances from members of CSN.
I'd always heard St Jude as the patron saint of lost causes. St Anthony is the patron saint of lost stuff. I'm a Baptist raised in a heavily culturally Catholic area in a Jewish neighborhood. Go figure.
I sale vintage marbles, mainly, or that's what my return buyers know me for. I have been made fun of more times than I can count bc I buy toy marbles, which is false, I buy vintage and antique marbles really old American made marbles and German marbles..... When you can buy 2000 marbles and sale just one out of the 2000 & have all of your $ back from buying them, the other 1999 are all PROFIT!
I also have starred going through rolls of half dollars looking for errors. Sold one for 27$, I'll take that all day everyday, too bad I don't have a ton of them, 50c to 27$ after fees and shipping, 18 to 20 $profit from 50 cent. Can't beat it. But I'm just getting into it and learned what to look for, what years do best, ect, got familiar with the dif errors on the dif years and started searching! Just got more last night to go through! But what I'm mainly looking for are, 1972 1974 ddo errors, 76 ddr, and any NFC not for circulation halves. Those are the good ones that are still available at your local bank, but you might have to order them now days. I do.
Hey, regarding eBay stupid overreaction to certain things... They just deleted my listing for a Zippo lighter with "Goering Hardware and Implement" in Kansas as "affiliated with (Hermann Goring (also Goering), a Nazi Leader." Goering is just a common German name that happens to be common here in Kansas because a lot of people immigrated here from Germany (and from Russia and other places!) before there were ever Nazis. It's now being reviewed by an appeals team, but it's just ridiculous to me that they just delete the listing with no avenue of appeal, and then you have to keep asking the stupid chat bot to let you talk to a human.
A good rule with VHS is just checking to see if the movie is stuck on vhs and or if it did make it to another format if it was a limited run. I sell about ten a month and I always make at least $20 from a quarter investment. I think many people think you are going to get a 1k tape. You did but you had a pick that was not a normal situation to find tapes. I think one problem is people hear X is valuable and they think it’s all that. I had a thrift store give me 90 VHS earlier this week. Only 16 are worth listing. I think people have trouble culling things because they want to have a verity of listings but if they don’t sell then it’s just a waste.
There are many categories worth big money that no one knows. For instance a Conn 8D French Horn is worth $2,000+ A Mid-Sized US Military Vietnam Era Pack is worth $200. A mahogany fishing speargun is worth $200. And who could possibly know the values of all automotive parts? Could you pick out Silver coins out of a pile of vintage coins? It is literally impossible to know everything - But we have help - Right there in your pocket you have a smart phone capable of looking up any of these items and giving you the value on the spot.
I love picking up hats. They have been hit or miss for me though. Some I thought would sit sold quickly and some I thought would move, I still have. I’ve sold some for real good money and can usually find them for a couple bucks.
Here’s a fun David Gilmore story for you, he and Roger Waters were on the outs during The Wall period, cause Waters is kind of a dick, and decided Gilmore was going to be considered a hired gun on that tour instead of a regular active member. So he got paid per gig instead of sharing in any profits the tour might bring in. But because Waters wanted such an extravagant stage show they ended up losing money. So David Gilmore was the only one who ended up making money from that tour.
Shrug VHS does great for me. I think that's because I have a good selection hardly ever get people buying 1 VHS tapes. I also get my tapes for free or .25¢. something that I know better than most people is kitchen appliances they see me sell waffle iron and think they are all the same well do you polish and deep clean?
The cowboys jersey is not Tiki Barber. Tiki Barber was on the Giants It is a Marion Barber jersey. They played in different decades/eras. They are of no relation as well.
I watch you just about everyday Thank you Teacher you are still I guess you will always be. I have learned a lot from you. I’m so sad I haven’t had a sale in 5 days. 😢
Hey Kevin, on the subject of Charities; a lot of my military items I donate a portion to the Wounded Warrior Foundation. It works out great through ebay. It makes me feel good and hopefully every little bit of donations help.
If I tell myself, “That’s cute.” I leave it behind. Quality items sell, cute is long tail or never. Big lesson to learn. 4th quarter was a huge disappointment.
I would be very very interested if that first time buyer will not scam you. I would be very nervous to ship to the first time buyer without, at least, signature confirmation.
I'm interested to know how signature confirmation would help any more than simple tracking in the event of, for example, a fraudulent claim of damage or incorrect item sent. My experience over the last 20 years of selling has shown no correlation between zero feedback and a propensity to dishonesty. In fact, a number of new buyers went on to become that rare beast, repeat buyers (including one whose first order was damaged in transit that went on to spend thousands with us over a couple of years).
Hats sell for me but it is definitely a slow item. Watch for events linked to your hats. I sold out of my University of Washington stuff since they are heading to the NCAA Football championship game.
you said you have a code for 5% off any ebay item, at any time from any seller? I tried the code, it didnt work, please explain more about this, I never heard of this before
Crazy cat lady hears "Stray Cats", and is disappointed when it's the band and no actual cats.(Meow) Hello No-name the Fuzzball! I found a few "MLB" Dodgers hats this week in an Ill Will. Brand new with tags, but the tags were all in Chinese characters and the logo looked all wrong. Be careful out there, folks.
That's David Gilmours third solo album. Glad he's still making music after Pink Floyd! Great pick up!
That was a sealed David Gilmore album😂… Pink Floyd dude!!!

Yes! I’ve recently delved into old magazines and am doing quite well!
I like to go through for the ads 😊

Pink Floyd.... Look Em' Up Heard They Make Good Sounds
Vtg Jewelry is one, and Vtg and older puzzles.
My family and i celebrate Hanukkah, its good to hear others who dont celebrate it, to know the history of it. Happy holidays!
And thank you Reagan for your effort for the ornaments. I’ve got the last 3 years on my tree 🌲 ❤
This is why I love watching your videos, it's all way informative and you do it without sounding patronising, keeping up the awesome work my friend 👏
What's happening with the hats is the same as the t shirt category, shoes etc. 10 years ago there was 10 of one thing listed. Now there's 500. Unbelievably hard to compete unless you have the best price. Pricing knowledge is everything.

Thanks for the knowledge on the hats. I have trouble with hats, but I try 😂 Hubby and I just got our tickets for Orlando's Winter Bash! Can't wait!
Hi Kevin. I've made a lot of money on doll house items. Building supplies. Merry Christmas ⛄⛄also needle point kits. So you can sell for big money
Who ya gonna call? Kevin on his rotary phone, but he's asleep under the tree and doesn't answer
This made me laugh😂😂😂😂
Love the history lessons, especially Chanukkah!
Awe yes. 😊 David Gilmour... One of the best musicians of all time (if not the best). Still going strong after Pink Floyd.
I'm still learning every single day, and my phone is out 100% of the time when I'm at the thrift stores or flea markets checking active/sold/STR so I spend money wisely. Merry Christmas to you and your fam ! Love your Channels!
😂, turner when you said his joke may be funnier. He just said it is… pan faced - that was great
Bet you were an awesome history teacher. I loved my 10th grade teacher he loved his content too.

David Gilmore = Pink Floyd Guitarist and singer. Come on Kevin! 😊

Kevin, thank you for your content you provide for the video. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Marion Barber!! Great player! Left us to soon… thanks for video 💙💙
Are those older hats made in the USA as well?
We enjoy the history lessons
Hey Kevin love your videos and content. Have learned so much from you and your channel. David Gilmour is the guitar player from Pink Floyd.
Finally saw a Rhode Island license plate in the Commonwealth Cabin. But there were a stack of board games in front of it. Little Rhody gets no respect. 😁

I love that album! What a find! Of course, I don't have a record player.
I laughed at your comment about never having an empty hat bin, because my hat bin is NEVER empty and I store them like you. Merry Christmas!

Hey Kevin, I sell lots of hats and my shipping is calculated at 8oz weight in a 8x6x4 box. Usually around $4.66 to ship.
Same here! During the summer and fall, I probably sell three or four a week.
So question is that a flat rate ship and is it usually more than that to actually ship your just making up the difference. I have a couple boxes of old hats in waiting just haven’t tackled them yet.
No, not flat rate. Just put in your weight 8oz. Most of the time it's right on.
I am confused here. I agree with your actual. Price to ship a hat. Although that varies of course by location. I charge the buyer a flat rate. Do you charge the buyer the calculated rate.
Yes I do the calculated rate.
Another chaos free video. I love Dave but all the I did this wrong I did that wrong is a bit much. That Gilmour album is a wonderful album with guest appearances from members of CSN.
David Gilmore is the main dude of Pink Floyd.
any thing guitar related can sell too. effect pedals, amps, all accesories,straps...

Hey Kevin 😊😊
My dad made sure I knew who David Gilmore is 😅
I wonder if soome 1st time buyers are just smurf accounts so a gift is a surprise.

Tiki was a nasty Giants player.
I mean…..toys. 😎
Love your work!

I lived in the college dorm when The Wall came out. The helicopter sounds vibrated the whole place lol!
David Gilmour is the lead singer of Pink Floyd. That album is his more recent solo album. 😁
Have you ever seen JAWS VHS in the wild? I'm still looking. For me. Not to sell.
not yet
Shrug VHS does great for me. I think that's because I have a good selection hardly ever get people buying 1 VHS tapes. Frank Sutton that played Sgt Carter was a distant cousin.

Some scammers have hundreds or thousands of feedback. New buyers are exactly what we want, we should be welcoming them!
I have been selling for 13 years and I am here to tell you that it happens. I just wanted Kevin to tell us the outcome
Good morning Kevin and family 🎉🎉🎉🎉
David Gilmore also discovered Kate Bush. ❤
Hats sell for me but it is definitely a slow item. Watch for events linked to your hats. I sold out of my University of Washington stuff since they are heading to the NCAA Football championship game.
David Gilmore..Pink Floyd
Books I feel are over looked
No answer to the Smoky jersey customer that complained from last video???
Yes. They changed the feedback bc they left it on the wrong item from another seller
@@commonwealthflipper I need to listen better, I think you mentioned that but didn't know that was actually what happened. Thanks!!
Marion barber. Not tiki. I thought I was watching Kevin and not Dave. 😂
Lol. Yes very true
👍
you said you have a code for 5% off any ebay item, at any time from any seller? I tried the code, it didnt work, please explain more about this, I never heard of this before
Not from any seller. Only my items
Some say Hanukkah :-)
Amen
Watching your show now.
@@commonwealthflipper 👋
David Gilmore id the lead singer of Pink Floyd
Guitarist I hear
That sealed album of David gilmour he was one of the founding members of Pink Floyd
Cowboys Jersey is of Marion Barber not Tiki who played with the Giants. And is of no relation. Marion died at the age of 38 of heat stroke in 2022.
David Gilmour is only the greatest guitarist of all time. lol😅Kevin❤
So I hear
🥇
You sold that Earnhardt shirt to cheap😊
Maybe so but it had been in the store for a very long time so no worries here.
You didn't know who David Gilmour is ?!?!??! Ummmm Pink Floyd ring a bell?? Haha just messen with ya brother!!
Nope
❤❤❤
In the seventies the Flyers goalie was so good that they’d say Bernie Parent saved more than Jesus
Lol
They were my team back in the mid 70’s great combination of grit and skill.
