You should not. That tells me that you're not paying attention to what is happening locally. Did you see what the legislature passed? There are all kinds of bills that eliminate home rule, and make it easier for Real Estate developers and polluters like Mosaic to destroy our environment. They even passed a bill that will let them put radioactive waste in our asphalt. He's also a thin-skinned dictator, looking at how he is handling Disney. He cannot handle anyone speaking out against him. Do not be a single-issue voter on anything.

So instead he has to do the same thing as the mainstream - lie about COVID.

As a senior Floridian I was prioritized to get the vaccine. I was also one of those individuals that had a bad reaction to the Moderna vaccine first shot (severe AFib, most likely due to myocarditis). I also saw how Desantis protected the elderly in nursing homes (unlike Cuomo). He also prioritized treatment for the elderly that had COVID. Several friends benefited from that. Opening the schools, rescinding mandates, etc. I saw it. The folks that wanted to wear the masks wore them, the ones that didn't, didn't. I think his execution during this difficult time was brilliant and he didn't budge in spite of the relentless media attacks. That took a lot of courage and conviction.

As a senior Californian I took the vaccine Moderna without hesitation as did most of my friends but I wore a face shield at the Census Bureau before it was judged unacceptable, and I traveled a lot because I am of the laptop class and I never got so much as a cold except on a drive from FL back to CA and it was a mild cold. I am now recovering from I suspect RSV and still suffering lethargy, but that is related to my 78 years as well.

I will give DeSantis credit for the way he handled the pandemic, we were lucky because we had good weather during the winter when everyone else was stuck being indoors. We could go out and enjoy the sunshine, have our restaurants open and still be able to serve people even with some restrictions. But there are too many Floridians in here that have not paid attention to what has just passed in the Florida legislature and are lining up to vote for DeSantis without looking at what he has gotten people in the legislature to do. There are a lot of destructive bills that make it easier for Real Estate developers and polluters like Mosaic to have their way. This is one of the most destructive legislative sessions. Local autonomy and home rule took major hits. And they made it more risky for citizens to sue to protect their environment. The even passed a bill allowing the government to use radioactive waste from phosphate to put into the asphalt in our roads. No one should be a single-issue voter because of covid or any issue.

I fasted when I had it, and it was over in no time! If your immune system is in good shape you can survive almost anything, but if it's in bad shape you can be carried away by a sniffle. Thankfully, fasting can repair the immune system very quickly. Which is also important for healing and repairing the damage of aging, which is also the immune system's job! Some benefits of doing occasional extended fasting: High blood pressure is lowered to normal levels very quickly while fasting.
    Fibrosis/scarring is reversed over time.
    Fasting increases nitric oxide release.
Fasting restores NAD+ to healthy levels.
Telomeres are lengthened and fasting also increases anti-aging Yamanaka factors.
Blood clotting is reduced and blood clots and arterial plaque are reabsorbed into the body.
Fasting stimulates phagocytosis, the ingestion of bacteria, plaques and viruses by the immune system. It will also remove any 'foreign material' that is not supposed to be there.
Reflexes and short term memory are increased.
Fasts from 36-96 h increase metabolic rate due to norepinephrine release!
After 72 hours or more fasted, your body recycles up to 1/3 of all immune bodies, rejuvenating your entire immune system.
Fasting can help with MS, Depression, BPD, Autism and seizures.
Fasting reduces pain and anxiety by stimulating the endocannabinoid system in a similar way to CBD oil.
Thymus is regenerated, which suppresses aging and renews the immune system. The thymus also plays a vital role in fighting cancer.
Weight loss from daily caloric restriction has 1/4 to 1/3 of the weight lost as lean tissue while many studies show fat loss from 36 h fasts without losing any lean tissue! The hunger hormone ghrelin also lowers with extended fasting and rises from dieting.
Blood sugar and insulin are lowered, allowing white blood cells to move more freely throughout the body and do their job. Some viruses activate glycolosis (the release of sugar in the body) and clinically it has been shown that decreasing glucose metabolism in the body weakens the influenza virus.
When you move out of MTOR your body shuts down the building blocks of the cell which are used to produce organelles and proteins. This means the mechanisms needed by viruses to replicate are by and large unavailable when you are in a deeply fasted state.
What breaks a fast? Anything with protein or carbohydrates in it will break a fast. Most teas and herbs are OK.
Does fasting lower testosterone? No, it raises it when the fast is broken by increasing lutenizing hormone. Fasting also increases insulin sensitivity, which helps with muscle building.
Fasts of 36-96 will not affect short term female fertility or affect menstrual cycle. They also may increase long term fertility, especially in women with PCOS.
The hormone Leptin is an immunomodulator that keeps the body from attacking itself and obesity causes leptin resistance. Fasting very quickly reduces leptin resistance and leptin levels and one day of fasting can cut your leptin levels in half and gets your immune system working properly again!
Does the body preferentially prefer glucose as a fuel? No, except for brief periods of very intense exercise, your body mainly burns fats in the form of free fatty acids. Your brain also prefers to burn ketones at a rate of around 2.5 to 1 when they are available in equal quantity to glucose.
Fasting stimulates the AMPK complex and activates autophagy. Autophagy (literally self eating) will cause cells to recycle foreign matter such as viruses and kill cancerous and senescent cells
Lowering insulin via fasting virtually eliminates chronic inflammation in the body.
When not in ketosis, the brain can only burn carbohydrate, which produces a great deal of damaging ROS the brain has to deal with.
It increases mitochondrial function and repairs mitichondrial DNA, leading to improved ATP production and oxygen efficiency and thereby making cells better able to fight off infection. Increased mitochondrial function also has the added benefit of increasing your metabolism and cancer prevention!
Fasting also releases BDNF and NGF in the blood which stimulates new nerve and brain cell growth. This can help a great deal with diseases like MS, peripheral neuropathy and Alzheimers.
In fact, the biochemical regulator of BDNF production is beta-hydroxybutyrate, which is the same ketone the body produces to nourish the brain while fasting.
Fasting also increases telomere length, negating some of the effects of aging at a cellular level.
When you fast, this stimulates apoptosis in senescent or genetically damaged cells, destroying them. Senescent cells are responsible for many of the effects of aging and are a root cause of the development of cancer.
A fasting mimicking diet for 3-5 days in a row also provides many of the same benefits as water fasting. FMD usually has 200-800 calories, under 18 g of protein and extremely low carbs.
Exogenous ketones can aid with fasting, making it easier in healthy people and allowing some people with specific issues to fast in spite of them without worrying as much about hypoglycemia.
Children, pregnant or nursing women should not fast for periods longer than 16 hours. People with pancreatic tumors or certain forms of hypoglycemia generally cannot fast at all. Type 1 diabetics can also fast but it is more complicated and should be approached with caution as it could lead to ketoacidosis. Those with Addison's disease may also be unable to fast without liberal use of exogenous ketones, depending on severity. If you experience extreme symptoms of some kind, especially dizziness then simply break the fast and seek advice.

As a New Yorker I can tell you they did a number on us here in NY, they had us so scared we stayed put and most of us did everything we were told to do and everyone seemed to have gotten what they call "mass psychosis"(Many still do...I know plenty of people on their fifth shot) So proud of a few people who saw thru the garbage, the only thing that woke me up was having a bad reaction to the shot and realizing I had fallen right in line. Once I had my reaction and they were still wanting to mandate this, I finally understood. I thought Cuomo and Fauci were heroes. I can't describe how they worked on my brain and this will never happen again. Unfortunately I don't trust anything any more but that is a small price to pay for finally waking to this nightmare!

That’s very well said. I’ve thought a lot about my own reaction to the news of Covid in early 2020. I never thought it was that serious. I knew the reports of Covid having a 3% or higher case fatality rate were flat wrong. I debated a friend in April 2020 who insisted that it was that high that the actual fatality rate was around .1 (which is probably about right). In a keynote address in May 2020, I implored an audience of K-12 school professionals to not close schools in the fall. I told everyone it would cause an epidemic of mental illness among young people . I could go on. The point is, I’ve wondered how I knew. I did find quite a bit of data to support my positions. Even early on there were studies on Covid coming out of Italy and elsewhere. There were also prior studies on SARS and other outbreaks. All of these convinced me that Covid was being way overblown. Still, how did I know? It didn’t help that I was in a leftist major city on the west coast where everyone believed it was their moral duty to believe everything the government told them (?). I think what it was is that I’m a free thinker. I question truth claims, even my own. Everything I hear I say ‘maybe’. I need to understand it for myself. And if there’s good evidence and there’s a rational reason to believe it then I’ll tentatively go along.

I have an elderly friend who was sent to a nursing/rehab for a knee issue. His room was right next to the covid wing and of course, he contracted covid. Thankfully they never put him on a ventilator and he fully recovered. He was in there for 3 months and the only visitation allowed was everyone being outside the hospital talking through the screened window. It is a no brainer that DeSantis did extremely well and was one of the reasons for me moving to Florida. Target was open; the little corner boutique was not. Someone fired right back, "Oh, so you're a Trump supporter." There is no way Prasad will go against the "miracle of science" narrative for the mRNA shots any time soon. If the narrative changes, then Prasad will also change but that could be 3 to 5 years away.

Why have we never seen how many healthcare workers were terminated as a result of vaccine mandates across the country? I would really like to know what those numbers are

I resigned my RN position and a lot of my coworkers were terminated due to their exemptions being denied. There was no way I was going to lie to get a medical or religious exemption.

STAT News has had many articles and analyses about this over the past few years.

My administrator decided that all non vaccinated staff should be forced to wear the plastic face shield and googles at all times inside the building during Covid. I told her I wasn’t going to do it and she was free to fire me whenever she wanted to. I compared that policy to the Nazi’s making Jews wear the golden star. The policy didn’t last more then 3 weeks, and many staff just quit because of it. Before she issued that policy I might have considered getting the jab to keep my job, after she did that, I was done and ready to let the mandates find me a new career field.
It was well known that the vaccines would not prevent transmission before the vaccines came out in the medical community. Herd immunity is not a thing with respiratory viruses. There was a full year of seeing prior infections not preventing future infections. They were clearly lying to us about the vaccine. Add in not accepting natural immunity which made zero medical sense and the ridiculous pressure and being told us unvaccinated were killing our patients, there was clearly something wrong.

I also was forced to resign my RN position as well. I'd love to see the numbers as well.

Well, that was an excellent, rational analysis, Vinay. Yeah, DeSantis did do brilliantly. Against massive hysteria. As a (former) Californian, I greatly admired his approach, AFTER the initial going along stance. He was one of the few who ingested, processed, and acted on better informaiton when it was available. In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.
