My great grandson will arrive October 30. His name will be Rowan. Perfect! I have listened to Peter Rowan since the beginning. And at ninety-two years, that is quite a while. Here's to all Rowans in the world.
I met Bill Monroe back when he came to Montana. He always spoke well of Pete. This is a rare thing for us to hear an informal gig with Pete and his old Martin.
Guitar sounds amazing and so does you! Your guitar playing has always been under appreciated IMHO.I love this and look forward to more. You've always been an inspiration and hero in many ways. (I used to swear you were the unacknowledged son of Bill Monroe - lol!) Wonderful stuff. Never stop, you cosmic rascal.
Wow! Like many others here, I’m so happy to have stumbled upon this series today. Thank you, Peter! I have been a big fan for years. And what a thrill it was about 6 months ago to recognize you buying produce at the big farmer’s market here on Sunday morning. I built up the nerve and yelled out, “Hey Pete Roans.” You quickly turned around and we had a nice, short chat. You were soon heading off to Owensboro for the Garcia Bluegrass Journey and Exhibition. You were excited to get some good playing time with the younger crowd, like Leftover Salmon. 😉 Anyway, now I’m off to try to learn some Earth Opera and Seatrain songs. What a wonderful series of videos celebrating an incredible life and musical journey. Thank you.
Very nice Thanks for sharing. Enjoyed, liked and full watch. 😎👍🤠🎹🎸🎶🎵👏🎼👌😁🎙😊Cheers, Bruce AKA Holden Beach Troubadour AKA The Master Busker Keep doing what you love and share it with the world.
Will watch again Often Always a smile when you share your love of the songs, and their stories, and the craft, always. Each song gets better, esp if you like the first one. All favourites. Thank you.
Howdy Pete, good to see you are doing well, it's been a few years since we last talked in the Pittsburgh area (back when good ol' Mac Martin was still around). Your performance with Tony Rice in Kent, Ohio, in 2008 is right up there with one of the best performances that I've ever seen, right up there with seeing Ravi Shankar and right up there with seeing McCoy Tyner with Ravi Coltrane at the 50th Anniversary of the Newport Jazz Festival. Your guitar and voice still sound as good as ever, and I hope to see you again one of these days!
Thanks Mr. Monroe for putting up this video and sharing the beautiful tones of that old Martin and these timeless songs and stories.. I have always loved you and your music. You've provided many a special moments in my life when I saw you perform live at various bluegrass festivals and other venues. I consider you one of Americans treasures. That line about the jazz musicians having the best weed got a good laugh out of me. Peace, and take good care of yourself. You still have a lot of good music left in you like that guitar. Btw, I wouldn't have known you had your own channel if I had not seen that awesome set you performed with Phil Lesh on his channel.
