Was it as cold as it looks? Quincy is a great town for history lovers like myself. The Adams' birthplaces and homes and their graves. Visited back in 15 when the wife and I went to see U2 in Boston. Great vid as always!
The bay made sure it was always windy. Trash/recycling day (Tuesday, it I remember correctly) meant seeing a lot of litter on the street solely because of the wind. This made Winter walks frigid. Still, warm air came off the bay so most times it was warmer there than it was in Northern NJ. My only winter there we got socked with three big snowfalls, the first being the worst with four foot snow drifts.
This looks like a nice town. Definitely enjoyed this ride. Thanks.

I live here, a good town, quiet, it's changed drastically since the 60's, the people, a lot of history.
I remember this place, I vacationed in a fancy hotel on the other side of Hancock. Nice place along the riverfront. Thanks for the fond memories.
Ah, this brings back memories and at the same time I can see what's changed. Quincy is just 4 towns up the South Shore from where I grew up. I didn't think of it much then but compared to other places I've lived later on it's a nice place. And it's quite urban for a suburban place. That's why it can support a subway.
Quincy, MA is the largest city in Norfolk County, MA and a suburb south of Boston and is known as the City of Presidents which was home of John Adams, John Quincy Adams and John Hancock. I have to admit that Norfolk County, MA is the best county to live in Greater Boston, but it could be expensive. By the way, the seat of Norfolk County, MA is Dedham, MA.
Quincy Shore Drive used to be called Wollaston Boulevard. Here's my timeline:
Prehistory: ?? [No one recorded anything]
* Sometime before the Perfect Storm era (the early 1990s): Wollaston Blvd is created. My guess is people immediately started clamming and shipbuilding.
* Sometime before the recent-past-from-perspective-of the Perfect Storm era: Wollaston Blvd becomes Quincy Shore Dr. Traffic speeds increase.
* The Perfect Storm era:
The Perfect Storm temporarily renders Quincy Shore Dr impassible. Nantasket is forever changed :(
While riding as a backseat passenger my Nana's '86 Daytona Coupe down Quincy Shore Dr, Pall Mall burning, windows up, AC cranking, Howie Carr ranting on AM Radio, she declares to me (in the back seat) "You know Quincy Shore Drive used to be called Wollaston Boulevard"?
