My mother is from Llandudno. She was a war-bride, met my American father at the arcade on the pier. My grandfather Owen Williams played drum and xylophone with the town band on the band stand. I visit St Tudnos as often as I can. And, Kings Head pub!
Nice to see llandudno in this perpective..you miss it all when its your local shopping town. Can see great orm from my living room..I live on the straits in penmaenmawr, 20 years now. From liverpool originaly but have always come here to north wales...best place in uk..
Great video !! As a child of the 60's, I got so hooked on the music, I just closed my eyes to listen at first. Then "rewinded". I turned the music down a couple of notches, the second time over. Then watched. (Llandudno now on top of my bucket list....) 🏘🏡🏠 Thumbs up. 👍😊 You have a new subscriber !
There are two beaches at Llandudno. The one here is the North shore which is linked by a wide dual carriageway boulevard, Gloddaerth Street, to the Towns West shore. The West shore, is a sandy beach, but more exposed, and the sea is perfect for wind surfers. There is a nice walk from close to the pier, and runs from North to West shores, along a path which gives spectacular views across the town. The path has a fabulous little tea shop half way along it. Worth a try.
I enjoyed every minute of Llandudno. I came across your TH-cam walkabout site by accident and have so much more to look forward to. I watched them on my Oculus VR so felt I was really there. The music was great too and I learned so much along the way. It was nothing like I imagined. Thank you.
Memories of my childhood with my mum and dad both passed away we used to stay at the Imperial Hotel. Lovely place love Llandudno still visit here every year. Thank you love the video.
You missed the Great Orme, the Little Orme & the railway. Amazing views. I was taken to Gogarth Abbey for lunch years ago: it was a real treat. M y Great Grandfather & his sons built many of the buildings along that part of the North Wales coast. Houses, hotels, schools; They were obviously very good builders, as the buildings are still there: or were 10+ years ago. I haven't been back since that time, but North Wales remains my favourite part of the UK. Thank you for your video; just one criticism, the background music ! I had to mute it as I found it intrusive.
We went here on Sunday 30th August 2020. What an amazing day, the weather, the boat ride and walking down from the top of the "great Ome" to Llandudno Pier. Exhausting but well worth it. Unfortunately the trams were not working but the cable cars was, thank god for that, otherwise going back up would of been very tiring!!😉 You can buy Fresh fish and chips from the lighthouse 1st thing you see before getting on the Llandudno Pier. Love the video you made keep it up xxthanksxx
Love living here, it truly is a beautiful area with a lot of hidden gems. The level of tourism makes living here almost unbearable at times, parking impossible in the busy months and difficult to work in the town. Enjoying the town in summer over lockdown was a blessing I don't think I'll ever get to experience again
I was born in Sheffield, England but was raised in the US. We used to spend our summers in Colwyn Bay, Whales and went to Llandudno many times. My best memory was when the Punch & Judy puppet shows were on the beach. In my adult years, I would visit every two years and Llandudno and Betsy-co-ed would be a must. Love Whales and all it has to offer. Rhos-On-Sea is also a wonderful place to visit. Would walk along the promenard from Colwyn Bay to Llandudno on warm days.
Gimbal Walk TV I have an amazing memory of places I’ve been ( so so many) I’m 65 now but I can remember back to when I was 7 Which was the last time I was in Whitby ( so much of it is just the same!)
If your thinking of staying over in llandudno please look up the Burleigh bed and breakfast in church walks . Steve and julie will make you most welcome especially with their 5 star breakfast. Rooms are immaculate too. Be sure to walk round the Orme too. Its so good for the soul. Love everything about llandudno xx❤️
No not really. I love everything about llandudno, the tram, the victorian weekend, the victorian building , the very clean promenade, the list is endless. The hotel mentioned was a lucky find and ive just shared it with people who may want a decent place to stay. Thats all it is Bob Wallace.
Met my girlfriend from America for first time. After talking on net for 6 yrs. I'm from UK and been to N.Wales before. But not to Llandudno. We spent a magical week there in Aug 2020 also. First thing we saw there was our hotel covered in scaffolding. I found out then, that she was as jinxed as me. HA HA HA. But that didn't matter. The people there were great. The town was fantastic. We both had an amazing time there. Thank you Llandudno for making my dream come true. And that's finally after 53 yrs having someone to share life with. Awesome:))))
The best chippy is at the top of church walks opposite the little train that takes you up the great orm its family run & has won several awards .church walks is opposite the pier .
Yes! Definitely! It's already on my filming list so will pop it on here once I've filmed it Thank you for the suggestion Terese! I really do appreciate it!
I lived on Anglesey & used to go to Llandudno for a day out with my mother & Penny, her little pure white Jack Russel, who ran along the promenade chasing her ball. Lovely memories of that dear old place. The stature of the strange character with the top hat, is the mad hatter from Alice in Wonderland, & the author lived in Llandudno...lovely video thankyou!
The statute is the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland. There are several around Llandudno, and a map trail to find them all! It’s because the inspiration for Alice lived in Llandudno ! 😀👍🏻
Almost right. Alice Liddell was the girl who Lewis Carroll based the the character on. She never lived in Llandudno, both her and Carroll holidayed here and some claim that he wrote "Alice through the looking glass", the 2nd book, based on Llandudno. The connection to the books is actually a bit of stretch but its a fun connection and we all embrace it.
Helloooo how are you ? Im from Argentina and love UK. Wonderful combination between landscapes and music . I have never travelled to Uk. Its my dream . Your videos are the best because I can know other towns and beachs. Thanks and greetings from Argentina.
@@GimbalWalkTV I would like to receive you in my country. Its beautiful. Iguazu Falls...Patagonia...and the north of my country have wonderdul landscapes. Buenos Aires the Capital city is modern and the food like asados ..empanadas.....pizzas milanesas....mmmm sounds delicious. Please when you come to Argentina my husband and I would recommend you the best places. Greetings from Argentina.
I live 6 miles down the coast in Colwyn Bay and have spent many a day out in Llandudno and I particularly love that walk along the pier. You missed so much by not visiting the Great Orme! You can walk up, travel by car, take a ride to the top via the cable car or travel up by tram. There's a cafe at the top where you can relax and have cup of tea or coffee, or even a bite to eat should you so wish. If you google Great Orme Llandudno you'll see some amazing ariel shots, and also photos of the cable cars and tram. There's even a copper mine up there too which is well worth a visit. Then there's the Little Orme, which is basically a nature reserve where seals can be seen swimming in the wintertime. This is the first time I've seen any of videos... and I'm impressed!
@@GimbalWalkTV Wonderful! I've only ever driven up to the top as the fares for the cable car and tram can be pricey for what they are. Same with the copper mine. However, I did see a filming of the latter on TV recently and was so impressed that I might just change my mind and visit the mines sometime in the future! Incidentally, you can also walk right around the Great Orme on a clearly marked trail... it's about 4 miles in length. Make sure that you book a hotel, b & b, or airbnb when you next come over though as there's so much to see around here! Then, if you do, you could also take in a trip to Conway where you can visit the castle, the smallest house in Britain and the lovely harbour there too. If you like, you could contact me before your next visit and I could see where else I could find for you to visit, maybe by doing a bit of research for you? Incidentally, there's always Gwrych Castle in Abergele, which stands in truly magnificent grounds, overlooking the sea but it's sadly now in quite a dilapidated condition. And yet it was still open to the public until last month when they closed it in order to erect a roof over part of it. You see, this just so happens to be the new location for 'I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here' this year and, if you decide to pay it a visit, it will be receiving quite a massive sum of money from the programme which will really help towards its renovation so, hopefully, it will be in a much better condition by then. And also it will have generated such a huge, massive public interest as it will be pretty famous so your video would be very popular! Google it, check it out on youtube, but you can also watch the programme when it's aired in the not too distant future! Incidentally, it's about 6 miles from here in between Colwyn Bay and Rhyl. I love the idea of what you're doing as I too love to drive and travel to new places. I really must check out your Malta video as my brother lived in Qawra for the last five years of his life before he passed away in January 2000 at the tender age of 48. He's actually buried in Paolo which is a truly magnificent cemetery on a hill there. Interestingly enough, they bury the bodies within 24 hours there but, as I'd already booked a flight for 10 days after his death somebody, somehow, managed to arrange to save his body until I was able to get there and, consequently, I was able to attend his funeral!
Llandudno is our favourite place to visit. We especially love going up on the Great Orme, with the amazing views of both the crescent shaped bay and town and the Conwy estuary to the west. On a warm summers day you can imagine you are on the Med, the sea is so blue! The tram ride up is well worth doing.
Enjoyed your walk around my home town of Llandudno, and your walk around Llanfairfechan, the place we go to escape the summer crowds. Perhaps look at Rhos on Sea, and Caernarfon in the future and don’t forget Anglesey and Conwy
@@GimbalWalkTV yes, parking can be a problem, but the place is worth the hassell of finding a parking spot. Great video, looking forward to watching others.

My mother is from Llandudno. She was a war-bride, met my American father at the arcade on the pier. My grandfather Owen Williams played drum and xylophone with the town band on the band stand. I visit St Tudnos as often as I can. And, Kings Head pub!
Another of my fave places I love North wales . Love the great or,me the most beautiful views been many times. Wonderful..every thing is so clean
Thank you for saying so! Most people moan about how there's lots of litter in my videos when there's absolutely none at all!
Love Llandudno, been visiting here for years.
Don't blame you Sylvia - lovely place and so clean!
Love Llandudno.l go to escape quite often.
Many many times! Love it. Can't wait to come back!
You have good taste Andrew! Great place!
Nice to see llandudno in this perpective..you miss it all when its your local shopping town. Can see great orm from my living room..I live on the straits in penmaenmawr, 20 years now. From liverpool originaly but have always come here to north wales...best place in uk..
Ah well said Wayne - lovely place!
Great video !!
As a child of the 60's, I got so hooked on the music, I just closed my eyes to listen at first.
Then "rewinded".
I turned the music down a couple of notches, the second time over.
Then watched.
(Llandudno now on top of my bucket list....)

Thumbs up. 👍😊
You have a new subscriber !
Ah amazing THANK YOU!!
Amazingly I get the odd message from people moaning about the music I use
I love it! Think it makes the whole video happier!

Thank you so much Bill I will go and explore that!
The path is called 'Invalids walk', and the tea rooms are in 'Haulfre gardens' which you will see first if walking from town towards the West Shore.
I enjoyed every minute of Llandudno. I came across your TH-cam walkabout site by accident and have so much more to look forward to. I watched them on my Oculus VR so felt I was really there. The music was great too and I learned so much along the way. It was nothing like I imagined. Thank you.
You're very welcome!
I have some VR videos coming up so stay tuned to the channel and I'll film them in full 360 VR for you!
Memories of my childhood with my mum and dad both passed away we used to stay at the Imperial Hotel. Lovely place love Llandudno still visit here every year. Thank you love the video.
Thank you so much! Hopefully many happy memories there for you Jennifer
Brilliant, brings back good memories of a visit back in 2008.
Hopefully you can return again one day Stephen

Very beautiful film . Wish I was there today 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thank you so much Doreen!
one word, stunning, thank you.
Thank you for watching my channel I really appreciate it! 👍
Thank you, that brings back memories of when I stayed there a couple of times in the 80s and 90s, I will have to return someday.
Definitely Alan - lovely place!
Thank you for watching my channel it really does mean a lot 👍
You missed the Great Orme, the Little Orme & the railway. Amazing views. I was taken to Gogarth Abbey for lunch years ago: it was a real treat. M y Great Grandfather & his sons built many of the buildings along that part of the North Wales coast. Houses, hotels, schools; They were obviously very good builders, as the buildings are still there: or were 10+ years ago. I haven't been back since that time, but North Wales remains my favourite part of the UK. Thank you for your video; just one criticism, the background music ! I had to mute it as I found it intrusive.
Thank you so much for watching my channel!! Some great memories there by the looks of it!
Thank you. I enjoyed that and loved the music too!
Thank you so much!
Thank you for watching my channel ❤️
Fantastic video, will visit when allowed.Particularly liked the sound track.
Thank you so much Colin - that means a lot ♥️
We went here on Sunday 30th August 2020. What an amazing day, the weather, the boat ride and walking down from the top of the "great Ome" to Llandudno Pier. Exhausting but well worth it. Unfortunately the trams were not working but the cable cars was, thank god for that, otherwise going back up would of been very tiring!!😉
You can buy Fresh fish and chips from the lighthouse 1st thing you see before getting on the Llandudno Pier. Love the video you made keep it up xxthanksxx
Thank you so much!
I 'm jealous you did the Great Orme - I need to do that!
Went here yesterday and loved it, thanks for the nice visit film.Sorry you didn’t have time to visit the main street with its very nice little shops.
Thank you!
That just gives me a great reason to go back and film part two!
Love living here, it truly is a beautiful area with a lot of hidden gems. The level of tourism makes living here almost unbearable at times, parking impossible in the busy months and difficult to work in the town. Enjoying the town in summer over lockdown was a blessing I don't think I'll ever get to experience again
Thank you so much for watching! 👍
I became the North Wales school sailing champion here in 1966. Love Llandudno.
Ah nice!
Agree - fantastic place!
That sounds like pure heaven !
Has been on my list of places to visit for quite a while. Great walking tour.
Thank you 👍
Nice film, lovely place. Would like to see more of the town.
Thanks, will do!
The statue is the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland
One of many characters from the book that are all over Llandudno 😊
I wish I’d known this before filming I could have tried to find them all!
Gimbal Walk TV I have an amazing memory of places I’ve been ( so so many) I’m 65 now but I can remember back to when I was 7
Which was the last time I was in Whitby ( so much of it is just the same!)
What a lovely place. Would like to go to Wales again one day. Thanks for the video 🥰
You're so welcome Bridgette!
Well said 👍
is that an advert ;)
No not really. I love everything about llandudno, the tram, the victorian weekend, the victorian building , the very clean promenade, the list is endless. The hotel mentioned was a lucky find and ive just shared it with people who may want a decent place to stay. Thats all it is Bob Wallace.
Dawn Oakley nice one Dawn!
Love Llandudno. Thanks for the walkthrough Gimbal 🙂
You’re welcome! Thank you for watching my channel ❤️
I really like the songs. The Gower coast is also fabulous. The Welsh accent is my favourite.
Thank you Denise!
Thanks for watching my channel! 👍
Good fish and chips from Fish Tram Chips right opposite the tram station where you can catch a tram to take you up the Great Orme.
Perfect thank you John!
I was surprised how tricky it seemed to find somewhere!
Ah amazing! Great story and thank you so much for watching my videos!
We absolutely love llandudno thank you for your video.
You're so welcome Tracy!
Thanks for watching my channel! 👍
The best chippy is at the top of church walks opposite the little train that takes you up the great orm its family run & has won several awards .church walks is opposite the pier .
Ah thank you! I was beginning to think there wasn't fish and chip shop here!
Had a lovely relaxing time at Whitsun, excellent weather
Perfect - nothing finer Ian!
Many happy times there. Love it better on top of The Great Orme Thanks for filming it.
Can you consider filming Barmouth please.
Our pleasure!
Thank you for watching my channel it really does mean a lot 👍
Yes! Definitely!
It's already on my filming list so will pop it on here once I've filmed it
Thank you for the suggestion Terese!
I live here beautiful place taken for granted 100% it's a lovely area, whoever you are hope you enjoyed your stay in Llandudno
Thank you! Certainly did! Lovely place!! Will definitely be back!
Reallly great vid and the good feel factor music. Good job on this great place to be
Thank you so much! Appreciate the kind words
The statute is the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland. There are several around Llandudno, and a map trail to find them all! It’s because the inspiration for Alice lived in Llandudno ! 😀👍🏻
Thank you so much! I did wonder!
Almost right. Alice Liddell was the girl who Lewis Carroll based the the character on. She never lived in Llandudno, both her and Carroll holidayed here and some claim that he wrote "Alice through the looking glass", the 2nd book, based on Llandudno. The connection to the books is actually a bit of stretch but its a fun connection and we all embrace it.
done my home town proud mate thank you.
Thank you so much! ❤️
Helloooo how are you ? Im from Argentina and love UK. Wonderful combination between landscapes and music . I have never travelled to Uk. Its my dream . Your videos are the best because I can know other towns and beachs. Thanks and greetings from Argentina.

Love Llandudno always there when im in north wales.😍
Ah great stuff Pat - you have great taste. Llandudno (and Wales) is lovely!
Thank you for watching my channel it really does mean a lot 👍
Incidentally, should you wish to visit the copper mines you have to book in advance with Tripadvisor.
Joan George thank you soooo much!! You’ve totally convinced me to do the Great Orme and film it!!
Lovely place, we drive from Birmingham, before Covid ,we park the car at the great Orme summit, then catch a tram to Llandudno, wonderful.
Perfect!
Thank you so much Roger some great suggestions there - Caernarfon coming up
Don't forget Prestatyn!
A wonderful view right across to Little orme beautiful .
Agreed!
Nice bright music thank you....used to come here canoodling from Leeds Uni
Thank you too! Cheers for watching our channel!
Been many times over the years, great for a family holiday. Parking can be a nightmare in peak season.
Looks like I was lucky with the parking then!!
Thank you so much for watching my channel it means a lot to me 👍
@@GimbalWalkTV yes, parking can be a problem, but the place is worth the hassell of finding a parking spot. Great video, looking forward to watching others.
Iv,e just found your channel; and loved the memories it brought back, the only time i can remember visiting llandudno was about 1937 to 1940, my mother was born in Bleanu Ffestiniog, your video makes me feel in these corona virus days i will return to the town. Brilliant video BTW, keep going with them
Thank you so much Teddy. Hope you are well and thank you so much for watching my channel!

Hi Jean
Thank you so much!
I use a gimbal which is like a mechanical stabiliser that I put my camera on and walk with ❤️
i have holidayed twice in Llandudno (Clan-did-nee) twice, both times at The Grand Hotel (Butlins) and i was absolutey overjoyed by the amazing views and the pier is amazing, the Great Orme tram ride is awesome
