Can you teach what the third wire is for? Is it an additional ground - for temperature monitoring or battery gauge?
Sorry for my late reply. Third wire is just for battery balancing. This is because when batteries are connected in series, the battery balance is broken over time.
Very smart to use wire for new battery instead of Nickle strip! Is it necessary to remove protection circuit? How many hours does it last now? Thank you from Japan!

The CTX 3030 original battery pack has 4400mAh capacity. but this one has 7200mAh capacity.

@@Yakena1 It is not necessary, but good to do. if not remove it, there are two protection circuits. 12 years ago, there were not many detecting people. but now, there are so many detecting people on everywhere beach in Korea. it's just a story from the past.
