    If you’ve never used an air filter these are great. th-cam.com/users/postUgkx_dppjvjF8BYEmPSDTcgCUdRsgWYLXNHN I ended up with three after starting out with one. The noise level depends on the 1-3 settings with how hard you want the machine to work. You can also upgrade the filters and get one better for pet hair and smells which is a must have in my home. I noticed the air seemed lighter and easier to breathe when running the machine for the first time. Works great every time. Highly recommended!

    I'm worried about the potential ozone byproduct from the UVC light, does it release a weird smell?

    • @bitume
      @bitume ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Here's what I found on Quora: "Most do not, or do not with the UV lamps used. Unless the lamp produces UV- 215 or shorter wavelength, it cannot ionize oxygen and nitrogen to form ozone. Most UV lamps in these devices are UV-254 or even longer wavelength, which are "germicidal" or "advanced oxidation"."

    • @twentytwo138
      @twentytwo138 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bitume Thanks for the reply.
      Yes i asked Xiaomi if their UV bulb is above or below 240nm wavelength but they couldn't answer. They said: ''We don't have official information about ozone''
      I think they should what kind of bulb they use. Also, most UVC bulbs have a coating inside that blocks shorter wavelengths, and if this coating wears off it can start leaking ozone. I have a UVC lamp with ozone and it's a fully clear bulb, it says on the package what wavelength is it (i forgot exactly but it's below 240nm)
      I will just have to trust Xiaomi and the technology, hopefully it's safe.

    • @KevinSoRandom
      @KevinSoRandom  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As far as I can tell, the UV light only works when it’s filling the reservoir with water then shuts off (as I’ve demonstrated in the video) so there’s very little chance for ozone to be produce plus the lamp is mostly submerged in water not the air. 😊

    Very nice review. I love it. The only thing that bothers me is that it is not recommended using destiled water?? I have read in many places that destiled water is the best option for ultrasonic humidifyers since otherwise the minerals of the water come out in the droplets and it is not good to inhale them. 🤷

      @@KevinSoRandom oh ok... I read somewhere that it shouldn't be above 55% ... I bought this humidifier a few days ago and i can tell the difference. My kids dont wake up at night from dry cough anymore, but the humidy % in our bedroom is at about 40%. I will try to set it at 50% . My wife and I couldnt figure out why our kids have dry skin and this dry cough at night... We bought a higrometer and measured the humidy % in our bedroom and it was at about 25% !!

      The temp and humidity sensors are located within a different compartment, behind the small hole (pin reset hole-like) at the back near the wifi reset button.

    I think these things are total junk. Does not easily disassemble so it's hard to clean and ante about 6 months of use I had to re-add the damn thing every in the app EVERY SINGLE TIME it was unplugged for cleaning. Before it would re-connect itself when plugged back in. It's now in pieces in the bin!

    • @KevinSoRandom
      @KevinSoRandom  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree with hard to clean inside but I haven’t encountered that disconnection issue you were referring to. That sucks.
      Apart from that one fact though our air purifiers have been nothing but awesome.
