I believe tempest kick needs to have 10 already in trash, not including itself to activate the additional effect. Since it checks grave before the card is discarded for sequencing order.
@@Baofeng8 I went over this with a judge one time with a different card that had the same needing a certain amount of cards in trash to trigger. The moment you use the card it’s considered in the trash pile itself and would trigger the second ability for required cards 😬 but I could verify for sure today at locals !
@@SGTCG the judge I talked to was the one that notified me I wasn't able to do it. The logic was you cant include a card that is resolving in the graveyard as it is still resolving on the field. The count is taken as the card is played and on the field. If it said trash this card then activate effect it would work, but cards don't get trashed and then the effect activated otherwise.
@Baofeng8 so I just verified with the judges I know and they sent me a link with q&a for this set and it was confirmed that you could activate the ability with 9 cards since that would be 10 🙂

I think I was just trying to wall up and get counter but this would have definitely been the better play doing it your way
