Fun fact. Timtams are actually ripoffs of penguins. Penguins were invented in 1932 and timtams were invented in 1964 "Ian Norris, who worked at Arnott's. During his trip to Britain, he tasted the popular Penguin biscuits and planned to develop a similar sandwich biscuit for his company"
Hi, The person who made TimTams came to England looking for something to make in Australia. And was show around the factory where they make Penguin. About half way around the factory tour. He thought I could make them in Austlalia. He did but named them TimTams. And the rest is History. As they say.
omg I love you girls, ilsa smashing the food on her face and leaving the marshmallow there and being disappointed you can’t eat it “the fun way” meaning she does that everytime is way too funny
Amazing video, The snack video I've always wanted. I was surprised by the jaffa cakes reaction. They're the best and most addictive snack that we have. The Wotsits Giants flaming hot are even better.
In the Penguin / Timtam debate, I found this on Google. "Tim Tams first appeared on the market in 1964 - the same year, in fact, that McVitie's acquired the Penguin brand. However, Penguins had already been produced since 1932 by William McDonald, a biscuit manufacturer in Glasgow." So Penguin were here first and Timtam copied them.
Quavers are a popular British snack food that was first launched in 1968 by Smith’s and is now produced by Walkers. The name Quavers comes from the musical note, quaver. tea cakes the trick to those is can you poke a hole in the to and use your tongue to clean out the mallow before the chocolate melts? hobnobs crush up and sprinkle over ice-cream, or crush them up and use them in a cheesecake base... also the penguin bars came out before timtams, but both were created by people who explored the world for inspiration to create the chocolate biscuits.
Ok just so you 2 sheilas know...tim tams came 31 years after the penguin wade invented....So fancy making a tim tam just be like a penguin and not coming up to scratch!
You realise both penguins and marmite came first, so if tim tams are better it's cos aus made a better version, not us making a lesser copy. Love the vid though, UK/Aus chocolate kicks America's vom choc's butt, Cadbury for the win (sorry but it's true).
from personal experience, i can truly say that us brits do some amazing snacks, cadbury is the best chocolate, for me, american chocolate tastes like dust in the mouth, and while if i`m honest if you really like your chocolate than you would have belgian, or even milka, i like what i like, walkers do the best crisps, we do the best biscuits, most lager tastes like a cats filled up the bottle, when we have winning beers, and out of the world cider, french cheese is all runny, and goey, and when you have to make a cheese sandwich, you would be insane if you put anything but cheddar in it, we do the best meat pies, mr kipling makes the best cakes, walls make lovely ice cream, we have proper tea, and certainly not some funny iced american juice, claiming to be tea, we make the best fizzy drinks, and especially if it`s old favourites like cream soda, and lemonade, who needs coca cola, when the minute you open the bottle it goes flat, we make the best puddings, and desserts, and we make some lovely breakfast cereal, so who needs soggy cornflakes.
I want as many Americans as possible to see how to approach Marmite... With respect, like you sensible two. Knowing the similarities with Vegemite helps but still refreshing to see it tested properly and guess what? For the firsr time in ever.. IT SCORED A 9! Whaa hoo!! One up for the yeast lovers. And... Did you know (and im going to show off a little here) that both are packed full with Vitamin B12? Vitamin B12 which boosts gamma-aminobutyric acid in your brain which helps to regulate excitability in the neurons in your brain and can help with stress, anxiety, ADHD and even Tourettes! Thats why its so good for you 😊
Many Americans have approached Marmite and Vegimate the correct way and it still tastes like shit to us. It just isn't a taste we grew up with or appreciate. Like how everyone hates on our chocolate, doesn't bother me at all, because Americans actually like everyones chocolates, from the European chocolates to Japan's darks.
For once I know all the British snacks and have tried most of them, usually I’d find other vids of people trying British snacks and having snacks that either I don’t care about or have no clue of.
You really needed to try some different type of cadburys chocolate. As they was made in Birmingham England and the one you had was not there best. But need a nice bar of chocolate 🍫
i might well be bias here but from what i`ve tasted from different countries, and especially america, i can clearly say that us brits make some of the best snacks in the world, and while i don`t mind the odd bit of yankie chocolate, most of there food generally makes me want to hurt myself, and when i`ve gone into the world foods aisle of a large supermarket like say morrisons, and i at least think well why don`t i perhaps try something new, then i soon remember the last time that i did this, and have to take a sick bag with me, and while indian chutneys etc, that are made in the uk are devine, please don`t think that this is the same with every jar that you pick up, and while some countries and especially in europe have indeed some truly amazing food, there is also some countries that make food that i would not even give to a goat.
@@insertgenericusernamehere2402 exactly could not agree more and if I remember rightly in the one add the take the crisps away from the one guy cause he knows the name of a ballet move.

how the hell is that the way to eat marshmallows ilsa... and i ll rate hobnobs for ya... as a cookie fiend hobnobs are top tier... equal to oatmeal raisin and white macadamian nut... 😜😍

There is a reason pom bears and Barney chocolate bears taste like sht. They are the "healthy" snacks sold to helicopter parents who don't want their precious little spawn having too much refined sugar E numbers or fun.
If only they knew that penguin bar is 30 years older than Tim tam
Fun fact. Timtams are actually ripoffs of penguins. Penguins were invented in 1932 and timtams were invented in 1964
"Ian Norris, who worked at Arnott's. During his trip to Britain, he tasted the popular Penguin biscuits and planned to develop a similar sandwich biscuit for his company"
Oh wow really hmm
Having a penguin and not reading the joke is unforgivable 😐
exactly what i was thinking
Yes
I agree, but they probably never knew it had one
They're The Only Snack Jokes That Actually Make Sense…
Why don't polar bears eat penguins? Because they can't get the wrappers off!

Yeah penguins were invented in 1932 and timtams 1964 so they actually ripped off penguins

Tunnocks teacakes are Scottish not English you'll get a few angry Scots if you say that 😅.

Penguins rule, Timtams drool. I'll steal all the toilet roll of anyone who says different.
Penguin biscuits were made nearly 30 years before Tim tams😂 therefor Timtams disrespect penguins
7:40 you missed the best bit of a penguin, the joke on the back
Wikipedia: The Tim Tam, produced by Arnott's in Australia and first sold in 1964, was based on the Penguin which was introduced in 1932.
The GOAT of the video was definitely the Discord alert message that kept popping up to cover for Tannar's swearing e.g. 4:30

The biscuit they use for Penguins is a Bourbon biscuit. And I mean the exact biscuit, it even has the word Bourbon on it.

8:02 as a british person..same
penguin bars are 32 years older than tim tams 😂

The British accent was so inaccurate I wanted to cry 😭😭
they way they disrespected the Jaffa cakes makes me so upset man
