  • In the book of Habakkuk God’s prophet asks why God tolerates evil and why he seems slow in punishing injustice. God responds that he has a plan to judge all evil thoroughly and finally. But God also says that Habakkuk must learn to endure his current sufferings and trust his God.
Ultimately, God’s answer to the problem of evil begins to be answered in the death of Jesus. In Jesus God endured suffering, trusted his God, and was ultimately raised from the dead. Habakkuk shows us that because of Jesus we know that God will judge evil and rescue his people.

Thank you for this! I am the Old Testament right now in my Daily Audio Bible Chronological. I've heard of the many challenges and the disobedience of the people in Old Testament days, but I wanted to search for the meaning for me in 2024. This is wonderful!

The Son took on our evil and our sin at the cross. He had no sin of His own, therefore he could bear our sin. Jesus bore the wrath of God and through his sacrifice we are made righteous.

So many good people becoming evil day by day due to injustice. They plead and beg God to cease the pain but unlike this book, God is absent. Misery continuous until those people become part of the evil machinery. This is why theres evil in this world; injustice
