Tried this method and it works BEST when you size with a nail that has the product that you plan to use (gel/acrylic) as the size without the product is TOTALLY different than the tips with the product.
We're definitely on the same nail boat. I'm new to making press ons as well and that was the part I was dreading the most...the sizing!! Didn't want to send extras nails "just to make sure" and I was concerned about the sizing card and them sizing incorrectly. THANK YOU!! 🤗🤗🤗 I definitely want to have fun just.....creating. 🥰

Also maybe to help the bulkiness issue if the design doesn’t require acrylic maybe you can just paint them and use a clear hard gel or builder gel on top to make them sturdier!

I also saw a nail artist tip where the clients need to use tape on their nails and put a vertical stripe where the sides of the nails are, remove the tape and measuring in mm the distance between the stripes. You then cross reference with the mm/nail nr ❤.

Before you added the bead it was perfect especially if you’re going to start making press ons for another person and don’t want it to shrink .I have this problem too when making acrylic press ons for myself too. What I do now is take the tacky blue putty put it on the inside or the nail and put it on top of my real nail to do a set for MYSELF. Then take it off once it dries.

Oh and do u have a particular brand of nails you think would fit most universal for ppl with curved vs flat beds?
The tips on my website are very universal that’s why I use those only for press ons. I personally don’t do too many press ons but the ones I have, no complaints. If you’re doing crazy designs there won’t be too much room for them to customize. Esp if you have rhinestones or very intricate nail art on them.
This is definitely a game changer now I won’t waste a set of nails just sending out for measurements

Great video Leesa. Saw this hack on Instagram too and thought it made sense. I’ve also seen TikTokers apply the acrylic like gel polish too. Super thin. Give that a try and see if you notice a difference.
Yea some people do gel polish press ons but for them to be reused they say acrylic is better because they for sure won’t crack when removing. But yes! Polish is easier 😂😂😂

I've been considering switching from sizing kits to the coin method to avoid paying shipping for the sizing kits and keep costs down, but I'm just afraid I'll have to paint extra nail sets if I'm between two sizes for a nail and can't decide... Plus there's the whole aspect of camera perspectives messing everything up...
