Every husband should be able to get a paternity test regardless of what the mother thinks. If there was abuse in a previous relationship, there that's not the husbands fault or even his responsibility to fix. The OP in this post sounds mentally unusable.

She got the test and he was the father and due to the pressure and emotional abuse he is no longer a husband or a father.

@@selfaware3940 I absolutely agree that paternity tests should be mandatory. But let me correct you: she was not abused in a previous relationship because she’d NEVER been with a man other than her husband! She had been abused by her family. I’m pretty sure that her husband was the type who would have verbally harassed and sexually abused OP if she’d had a sexual past. His mother probably beat it into him that his wife had to be “pure”.
Nevertheless, she poisoned her son’s mind to the degree he suspected OP’s fidelity. Considering how they locked her down, when the hell would she have time to start an affair? Even when his paternity was confirmed, he still accused her of cheating. Something you should know: there are hundreds of men who because of their own issues will NOT accept the result of a paternity test. Even if it’s court mandated, they will insist it’s wrong. I’ve personally known a man who, despite the fact that HE chose the lab and did not tell his gf the name, still insisted she had falsified the results. She got a court mandated test which again confirmed his paternity and he still denied it and threatened the judge, accusing HIM of being the gf’s lover. Turned out he had another woman and had also gotten HER pregnant. Problem was the other woman didn’t KNOW about his gf and thought he was going to marry her. So did her millionaire father.
      And finally “mentally unusable”?

This young woman has been abused all her life by the people who should have loved and protected her. She was a virgin and states clearly her husband is the only man she’s ever been with. His mother is a psycho and cut from the same cloth as her parents. If she had that baby, her life would have been a living hell. The minute he and his mother confirmed the baby as his, they stepped up the torture. His mother FORCED her to sleep with him and she followed her to the fucking bathroom! Can you imagine someone standing outside the bathroom and yelling for you to hurry up? They wanted a REPORT from OP every day on her pregnancy. His mother called and texted OP numerous times when she was at work! His mother would have taken that baby and gotten rid of OP or forced her into another pregnancy.
I’d have unalived myself rather than have that man’s baby. Her fear had nothing to do with cheating. But even after the paternity test proved it was HIS, he still accused her of infidelity. He and his mother would have driven the OP into a complete mental breakdown had she not gotten away from them.

Bravo Jezabelle ! I couldn't have said it better myself. What a life of torment that evil duo would have inflicted on OP if she'd stayed. She had come from a background of abuse, so she recognised the ever-growing signs. The control and cruelty levels would only have escalated. There's a definite ' Oedipus ' quality about the mother/son relationship. They both hate OP. She's the enemy. She HAD to cut all ties, permanently, and remove herself from the situation.

You're assuming she was lying, as much as we are all assuming she's real at all. She could be fabricanting this entire story, it's your choice to take it for it's face value or not.

she cheated for sure. definitely lying to us. a paternity test should always be mandatory. there are two main possibilities. either the child is actually his or not. if it is not, the damage is much greater than taking a test.

Her ex and mil are abusers. That's why they preyed on her. She was vulnerable.

Way to look even more guilty. Also psychotic since you will get rid of a baby just cause you had a fight.

No, the distrust and hostility from the MIL and by proxy from the Mama Boy triggered a trauma response that made her feel violated, turning the child into the result of such violation. Our minds don't always work on a reasonable way. In a sense she was right, having the kid could lead her to mistreat it AND would keep her connected to her abuser.
She could have taken the pregnancy to term and relinquished her parental rights, but would still be months of them harassment and abuse. I'm pro life and would personally do my best to put this kid to adoption or leave for the father to raise, but can't condenm her actions.

18 years of having to deal with a sorry excuse of a husband(ex) and a horrible MIL(ex), I stand with her best to have a clean break then trying to play nice with people that hate you as much as you hate them.
