I remember the 1st time I saw Freddie, it was on the 1995 usa sunsplash tour. I remember the lineup was sister carol, wailingsouls, buju w/w .Wonder and aswad. Freddie McGregor played hit after hit....I am grateful to have got to see such a great artist!
Great great guy..!!! My introduction to McGregor's music was in the early 80s with the track We've Got Love...One of the Super singers that ruled the Reggae airwaves by the early to mid 80s: Gregory Isaacs, Dennis Brown, Sugar Minott, Al Campbell, Tony Tuff....
I can understand why McGegor's drumming is not widely known. Afterall, there were true giants like Carly Barret, Horsemouth Wallace, Santa Davis, and Sly Dunbar.
@@thembadube9589 You're right...But regardless the legendary drummers you've just named (which should've included the pioneering Daddy of them all, Lloyd Knibbs of the Skatalites, Nelson Miller or Mikey 'Boo' Richards), McGregor was not an elite drummer...Just a talented percussionist. Nothing more.
Freddie is an artist we grew up with. We rocked to his beautiful and inspiring music We will always love and cherish him ❤💛💚🖤
Saw Freddie at a really small venue in the 80's; he was great and I've always loved his voice. Get stronger Freddie!
