Well it's because Hakita had it be parryable but then had the blue flash because it was a hassle to actually parry it

It was originally easy to parry, but they felt it made the boss to easy so they made it frame perfect and gave it a blue flash as a silly Easter egg

For the longest time I completely missed the blue flash(don't judge me, the entire level is blue and I had a lot of things to focus on), and that combined with the fact that I accidentally pulled off the parry first try meant that I was very confused both when I never pulled it off again, and even more confused when I finally did notice the blue flash.

I remember seeing this, Hakita said the timing was just too tight for it to work but like all true devs. He didn't feel like recoding the game to make it unparriable so he jusy changed the yellow flash to Cyan and called it a day.
