Because the main focus of s2 is on the main character and his mission in taking down the leader. Obviously there’s going to be less focus on the characters compared to season 1
Only character that had an emotional impact was gi-Hun’s best friend, I forgot his name but he was literally introduced in the first 10 minutes of s1 ep1, so of course when we saw him die. He was there from the start, he’s basically just gi-hun but with less character arc
I knew the fisherman was a bad guy. I always found it weird how he just stumbled upon Gun-ho near the island. I would think that his brother shot him in the shoulder so he would survive and sent an undercover agent to pick him up.
Dude was (Forgot how many years) in the sea around, pretty sure it would look so suspicious on how he never noticed an island that involved the creators of Squid Game
Initially, the director didn't intend for a sequel because he had envisioned the project as a limited series, not anticipating its phenomenal success. It took nearly a decade for him to bring Squid Game to production. I'm comfortable with Season 2 since it attempts to resolve the mysteries left by the first season within a short timeframe, catering to the demands of fan culture.
So it’s confirmed, season 3 will be the final season and we will also get a 2 hour movie. “The Squid Game” The Squid Game will come out something in 2027 and season 3 will come out next year
This new season was a significant quality downgrade. Season 1 was good because they told a complete story with the potential for a follow up. The biggest issue with season two is that it was clearly planned with the third season in mind, which unfortunately resulted in basically just a season setting up the next season rather than telling it’s own arc. This is a pretty common problem with sequels that already know they’re going to be a trilogy, they seem to forget how to do pacing and reveals in a way that properly balances the line. I’d probably still recommend to fans, but you’re likely going to get a more satisfying viewing experience if you want for the third season and watch seasons two and three together (I’m speculating). Unrelated to the pacing issues, I found myself getting very frustrated at characters who were obviously trusting the wrong people. Why wouldn’t you question teaming up with Player 001, the first person to join the games this time around? Why wouldn’t you question the reliability of the guy who just happened to collect you after you were shot and drowning just off the coast of the island the games occur on? The willingness to trust the most shady characters, the fact that they’ve survived so long is just such classic protagonist armour (although likely by game maker design so it’s not really a plot hole, just frustrating how many poor choices the characters makes tbh).
About the ending, they filmed season 2 and season 3 at the same time! Season 3 probably should've been called as part 2 of season 2 so that the ending would've been more understandable, but only my opinion😁

Another theory my friend told me: seong gi hun is the game master like 001 in season 1. It is all part of his plan to take revenge that's why he got the loan shark involved and his friend who didnt lend him money. Both of them died. He carefully planned everything and maybe that's why the frontman is with him acting as 001 player. Maybe gi hun got some elaborate plan to bring down everything that's why he acted as the game master.... This is only a theory
Dude had 3 whole years to plan. Even a medium iq man/woman irl would do better the second go round. Also, how the hell was it ethical in his final decision to sacrifice members of his team by deliberately not telling them they're going to be attacked in their sleep? It obviously wasn't a thought out plan because they made that very clear in the first few episodes he didn't have any. Total waste of a season. Not anticipating the 3rd season. It's like movie writers are slowing losing the ability in continuity. 1 hit wonders all over the place.
Ironically, 001 gave him a better idea by recommending them to take out those who want to continue playing first. But Gi-hun’s went on with the unrealistic plan of taking out the guards instead

I think for season 2, they could have just taken out Seong Gi-hun, let that character reunite with his daughter and have Hwang Jun ho as the protagonist for season 2 fighting to end the squid games. That for me would have been more plausible. The whole time I was watching season 2 I was thinking, Seong Gi-hun, what's your plan? There is no way to know what games they would be forced to participate in so there was no way he could guarantee surviving them. Him going back into the games was reckless and wasn't a well thought out plan, it's like he had a death wish. I understood his motivations in the first season, second one…not so much. Season 2 exists just so we would be entertained and if you switch your brain off it's a fun ride but less plausible than the first season.

Spoilers ahead I guessed that Jun-ho would team up with Gi-hun to end the games if he finds him... However, I kind of get that he wants to save his brother but telling Gi-hun he never saw the front man's face ruined everything... If Jun-ho told him about it, he wouldn't have teamed up with him during the games 🥴 I really am curious though to why the captain wants to sabotage their search... ? Is he secretly working with the people who make the games? Did he change his mind when that one guy told him Jun-ho's story is true and Gi-hun won, so that he himself can later participate in the games? I feel like the plot with the captain will be a huge plot twist again...

I'm suprised of people's luke warm feeling on this season
because it doesn't deserve even a lukewarm feeling but cold
People? You mean these tiny selected group of people? 90% of the audience will love this season.
Same!

This season was good yeah maybe they could have had a better director but i enjoyed it
First he wants to go out then suddenly wants to attack guards by sacrificing his team members. I don't really understand his character
Doesnt make sense. Why would they risk it all in 1 final fight?
They're gonna win but the front man is there so he knows the plan they are up to so yeah they're gonna lose
So GiHun didn’t think that 001 is just another game leader. Come on. 2 not as good as 1.
It was nice, but a lot of missing things, and obvious hints on who would betray who 💀 way too easy to spot, I thought it would be its own season but it ended up being a setup, i guess that works but kinda sad i guess I gotta wait another year 💀👍, ehem and once again the one new character im interested in dies so 🗣️🗣️🗣️ okay
Who's the new character?
He will be significant in season 3.
This season had some good moments but the bad outweighs the good for sure. What an awful way to treat these characters
does Season 3 have a release date public?
they said its around 2025
Nooo season two just failed 😢
Ong bro they were kinda cooking w his character first 2 episodes then he js spends rest of season on the boat doing pretty much nothing w no screen time
Oh what a dogshit season!!
You done with the season already? dang 😂
BRO it's so damn good, legit can't wait for season 3 😭
Me finished it rn
Yup
I couldn’t stop watching TT
ive never watched an entire season in just one sitting before
So bad.. I knew it wouldn’t live up to the hype of Season 1 but this was so terrible. A parody..
Trash idea. Tired of shows killing off main characters easily
I PREFER SEASON 1 OVER SEASON 2 !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really hope they have already finished S3 they just trying to test our sanity after releasing an incomplete season 2
The Boat plot was such pointless filler
Its not if thats the key to getting there which is whats prob gonna happen
worst cgi oat, the guys where legit jumpin of balconies way too often, it was comedic, worst ending oat, theres no way it end like that
Third season is the break or make it for me, if third season is shit I'm definitely gonna be pissed.
You people complain about quality and other bs, yet you binged watched the whole series in less than 12 hours since it first came out. Either if u enjoy it or not what's the point of discussing it online as if we are critics or smth like that. Just to create drama and divide people? Just watch whatever you like and move on with your life. It's a f tv show, nothing can ever please everyone in the world.
Yet here you are voicing your opinion as well. Everyone is entitled to their opinion about anything. If you want to live in a world where people can't criticize anything you like, please go find that universe cos you're not living in it.
@@donfx95 And yet you had plenty of things to say, but you chose the dumbest argument u can ever bring to the table that have been recycled plenty of times before. And as I said, it s a f tv show and you re not a critic. Not need for stupid online wars for such a small thing. But at the end of the day, if criticizing movies under an yt account is the only things that brings you happiness, fulfilment and validation in life, who I am to stop you?
@a.b.9198 thank you. It seems we're in agreement that you wouldn't have made your dismissive comment if it was a positive review of something you like.
Y'all be talkin too much damn just keep it to yourself tbh it give you no brain if talk too much
Source: the stupid internet said it
@@donfx95 no, i just stumbled across the video, i don't go to other videos complaining about other shows or praising this one. Use your imagination for something better than that
Seong not taking the shot when the salesman was facing the wall was the stupidest thing. Took me out completely... 1) Why didn't Seong shoot at least a warning shot and disarm the Salesman? 2) Why did the salesman have his back turned? Why not have the gun aimed at the door from a dark corner?
The indulgences the director/writer made are veering on masturbatory and flat out insulting. I stopped watching, I can only guess what incompetent choices the characters will make going forward.
bro sounds like prismblock
Netflix ruined this series. That's all Netflix does...ruin sh*t.
The goblin is my favorite character fr
What was the explosion on the island when they lifted the hatch?
It was a booby trap. It is implied the people running the game set it there for them.
probs just a fake hatch to trick them
honest review
I'm here to shit on looper, who tf cares about looper lmaoo
Disappointing
Absolutely boring season especially the first 2 episodes. Only 7th episode was bit suspenseful otherwise a lot of things were predictable for me.
Not boring. It was quite exciting. Only thing sad is how it ended so quick.
Episode 3,5,6 and 7 was goated
Episode 2 and 4 was good
Episode 1 was alright
Why's that boring tf?
Season 2 is a bust.
Season 2 was good. Adrenaline. Except for the ending everything was good. Waiting for season 3.
Hard disagree
Even tho season tho had lots of problems and missing things it was still very enjoyable for me, waiting for season 3.
You sound like that Minecraft shorts TH-camr
Loved season 2, great from beginning to end. 🙌🙌🙌
yeah
No way you dubbed this. Ew
Spoilers ahead
I guessed that Jun-ho would team up with Gi-hun to end the games if he finds him...
However, I kind of get that he wants to save his brother but telling Gi-hun he never saw the front man's face ruined everything... If Jun-ho told him about it, he wouldn't have teamed up with him during the games 🥴
I really am curious though to why the captain wants to sabotage their search... ?
Is he secretly working with the people who make the games? Did he change his mind when that one guy told him Jun-ho's story is true and Gi-hun won, so that he himself can later participate in the games?
I feel like the plot with the captain will be a huge plot twist again...
He is his brother after all
@ Yeah that's true... maybe he wants to find him before Gi-hun does and rescue him or something, who knows
Bro I’m just curios for the next game because in episode 7 a post credit scene shows the girl from red light green light and a boy and it shows a red and green sign flashing
@@LITERAL_J Sameeee though. Like does it not say red light green light anymore? I feel like the game will be even harder with two dolls watching over
Ok this was fast
Jung bae..
What do you mean they ruined him. He is still a great character and if you don't like it don't watch. He is an amazing cop that wants to find his brother. And I cant wait for season 3 ! and people can stop being upset, they are doing this on purpose. Wanting people to wait and want more is how you get people more into it.
i suspected it the moment he was shown its probably the driver the front man ie his brother had appointed to save him anonymously when he fell to see like he might have been a boat person in that island and he is purposefully telling cop he found him in some other island so whenever he searches he is searching in opposite or wrong place islands. And he was so slow atleast in season 2 ending they could have almost have a clue on island its happening or almost find it but this part 1 was nothing other than lag and even showed 3 games only
If you don’t like the season just stop watching
If Negative criticism didn't exist we wouldn't have good things
bro doesn't even understand what a review means
Bro is a dog to corporations
If you didn't like the video just don't watch it
Rlly bro your over here talking bad about a shoe like you do any better
Yeaaa
Absolute dog poo. It started of with promise then when i seen the trans character i knew what was coming.
Im almost all the way throught episode 5 and they are talkking about surgeries.
I want my entertainment to pull me out of reality not remind me how the real world is.
Funny saying that when the entire premise of the show is a stab at real world problems. Season 2 has many problems but I think having a trans character is not one of them. Agree or disagree, no point in spreading hate about trans people.
@@gameofdeath69 So.. you’re just transphobic? That’s your criticism?
So basically.. you just hate the transgender community? That’s your entire criticism?
nah i loved when she took charge at the end with the shooting and they didn't make her character annoying
the trans dude motives are ridiculous but he is the best character so far
Ong bro they were kinda cooking w his character first 2 episodes then he js spends rest of season on the boat doing pretty much nothing w no screen time
