That was a rather touching story. It was nice to see Percy deal with saying goodbye to one of his favorite jobs. Like the old saying goes, all good things eventually come to an end.
This was quite surprising. I didn't expect this kind of story line. I feel very sorry for Percy, him losing his favourite job and then having to face the fact that he might never pull the post train again. We all don't like it when things come to an end.
Another brilliant episode, NWR1991! Certainly one Granpuff himself would be proud of! I just wish these were uploaded (but, to quote Wildnorwester, 'If wishes were fishes, there'd be several Flying Kippers a day!')
Took me far longer to get Hugh Laurie joke than I would like to admit. Only after Percy say Hugh Lorry character did it hit me. Dexter is a part of this series! 😜
NWR1991, well done again mate! As the old saying goes: "all good things must come to an end". I do feel bad for Percy, the mail train is indeed his favorite run! Can't wait to see your next story!
NWR1991 it is a great episode but it is sad to see the post train not running all the time and all the episodes you made so far is great I hope they keep going and how have run out of episode ideas
I do like Percy pulling the mail train and that it is all sorted prior to transportation but......I would love to see something akin to the TPO's and mail trains like the Irish Mail, a mixture of mail and passenger or full TPO pulled by someone like Gordon or Henry in the past..........sorry wishful thinking NWR1991 you still do a cracking job ^_^
Sort of sad that the post isn't brought by train anymore, at least the mail trains didn't get grounded by bad weather aloft or stuck in a motorway traffic jam. Here in the States, there is some mail and parcels that are still carried by rail via Amtrak, but it's mostly in boxcars or trailers on flatcars, but the days of it actually being sorted onboard and picked up and dropped off on the fly in the RPO cars is long gone.
Good episode, but it sort of felt like "Goodbye Percy" with the plot of things coming to a good end sort of being reused. Not that it's a bad thing, but still it could have been altered a little bit to make it seem less similar to the said fifth season episode of your fan-series.
I don't think no one was hurt in the crash. Maybe the crew would have been hospitalised. I know that its is for the young audience but it just reminded me of the child proofing of HIT entertainment and made me cring a bit. Plz don't hate me. Still a good episode
I agree. For the most part the episode did have a good premise but that bit let it down. If no one's going to get hurt in that collision; then it may as well be near-miss or something with the realisation how nasty it could have been. Given this series has dealt with more sensitive issues such as Mr's Kyndley's death; "luckily no one was hurt" just doesn't do it justice.
The classic series didn't do the original books justice when it came to crashes, think about the original flying kipper incident, there was no mention about what happened to the guard, whereas in the books, the guard got ejected from the van as it imploded, and he fell head first into snow, his legs were waving so much that the driver and fireman couldn't get a good grip.
Very well put-together video, NWR1991. 3 things: 1) Nice tribute at the end to Rev. W. Awdry. 2) The only problem I saw with the mail trains was that you constantly forgot to put a brake van at the end of them. 3) (Just an LOL to this one) The postmaster looks rather like Timothy's greedy Old Controller. That would explain a lot behind the "economical reasons" behind replacing the mail train. XD
gameoholic1994 The mail trains do have brake van only it's a brake coach like you see on the back of express trains. So one of them mail vans have brakes and they don't need the typical brake van like you see on the end of goods trains and please no Timothy the ghost engine here please.
I don't understand. Mail can't always go by road as there are places where lorries and vans can't reach. Without a mail train we wouldn't be able to get any mail
Goofs: 1. When Percy pulls out from the station with the mail vans after snapping at Hugh he's facing backwards, but then when he's speeding along the line with them he's facing forwards. 2. Brake vans should've been added to Percy's mail trains.
Jack Alderson 1. That’s standard practice. When there’s no turntable, engines shiny themselves near points to get to the front. 2. Mail vans have brakes so there’s no need for a brake van.
hello NWR1991, I was wondering if you ever need any extra voice actors, me and a couple of friends of mine that form a group called the "TrackGang" can voice some characters in your series! : ) please reply when you can. P.S We will always miss Rev W Awdry : (

Me too but like emily said, some good things need to come to an end.
Jack Alderson so true. It’s hard to let go
R.I.P We all loved you you will never be forgotten

It is a pity for the Post Train to go, but at least Percy's got a new friend to look after it.
The music crew was beyond excellent in the intro
I really like how he uses old characters a lot more than just the main characters.
Great video! Also I hope Awdry is resting in peace so well. I wish he was alive now :(
once again the flying kipper has another accident. with a crash like that I think major injuries would be there if not fatal lives lost.
It never ENDS!!!! *GAH!*
I love the music when Percy is rushing to beat Hue! :)
Took me far longer to get Hugh Laurie joke than I would like to admit. Only after Percy say Hugh Lorry character did it hit me. Dexter is a part of this series! 😜

Man. It has been 20 years since Awdry's passing.

0:58 Are those the meccano cars?!?!
Beautiful episode man :)
Great video and the intro was even better!
This is so sad to hear that percy is losing his favourite job of all, pulling the mail train :'(
I like this story

They actually stopped that years ago, and the last time I saw it, it was one if their boxcars being used on a Union Pacific freight back in 2013.
Awesome video NWR keep it up!!!
Great job on this

nice work.
lovely

TrainMaster15 You have your own opinion but the 'luckily no one was hurt' stuff happened in the classic series as well, prior S8.
NWR1991 thanks for not being over the top about my comment, but from what I recall the classics didn't over use the fraise nearly as much as HIT

NWR1991 That makes sense about the brake vans. And don't worry; that's my only Timothy joke that you'll see here. I won't mention him here anymore.
20 years goes by quickly, eh?
I don't understand. Mail can't always go by road as there are places where lorries and vans can't reach. Without a mail train we wouldn't be able to get any mail

I had to open my big mouth
Great video m8 keep it up

but in the tv series the mail trains always had brake vans
Jack Alderson Yes but in reality they don’t. The TV series isn’t always 100% realistic
good video, too bad the mail train had to retire
Plus is this a new map?
aw man someone would have been hurt in that accident
and there would have been at least some damage (I still loved the episode) don't hate me :)
i kinda love this intro. do you know the name of this music?
0:57 Meccano reference
What was the name of the route with sodor mail building.
poor percy
Hey where did you get all of those Season 1/2 ditties from? Excellent work on the episode by the way!
Zara21king They are from Sudrian Afro and I can't send them out, sorry.
Just wondering, because those ditties could help out since I'm going full Season 2 with my work..
where did you get the Donald model

Mike The Red Engine Thanks for the offer but no thanks.
Like I said, if you *do* need some, but thanks for replying! : )
Have a jolly good one! : )
Goof: A brakevan should've been added to percy's mail train.
Jack Alderson Not really: www.lightstraw.co.uk/gpo/tpo/nvr/vans1.html
