Great review brother! I wish had more space and the budget for the luxury edition.. because I really like the base too, but I'm still happy with the standard one I have. That arm situation would have had me pulling my hair out lol I'm happy you enjoyed my review as well. I'm with you, a fan of the films & series and this is still a solid version of him in 1/6 scale. I am tempted to pick up that other head. Looking forward to your mod video!
Just received mine a few days ago as well! They certainly repainted and fixed some of the issues presented to them. I do have an issue with my figure stand not fitting in the peg hole tight enough to keep Ash posed. Switched him up to a straddling stretch over the top of the cellar door. Putting off the triumphant look!

Pretty bummed to see the drop in quality. The spelling errors are like something you’d see in a low end 3rd party figure. I hope Asmus learns from this.
Finally got mine and I cut the right sleeve on the tattered shirt and painted 3 lines on the abdomen and very happy. I have no complaints about the rest of the figure and they supplied a corrected Henrietta and name sticker. Other than that? An attachable "possessed hand" I made the supplied one work but missed opportunity in an almost complete representation of Evil Dead 2 Ash. Head sculpts aside.
Considering the amount of stuff and the stand etc I don’t think the $330 price tag is too bad, but the several small issues does make you think twice. I only just got the Linda head that was missing out of the box last week so they are a bit slow. I used a JX S01 body to kitbash an evil Ash from the 2nd head sculpt, shirt and dagger, even added the scratches, it works well and kept the asmus body as stock should I need to sell it in the future. Overall once it’s on the shelf and posed it comes together nicely but lacks the refinement you might expect if you have a lot of 1/6 figures like we do.

I have both Asmus Devil May Cry 4&5 Dante deluxe figures, and I'm surprised by some of their decisions here. The Deluxe DMC 5 Dante's exclusive parts came in a separate box that was really well done and packaged together in one bigger box. Seems odd.
I just got mine last week im not going Lie lot people saying bad things on issue but Base like statue It's crazy but I've never seen hot toy that has a base like this Depending on the weightOf the base
This is a pretty good Ash Williams figure, despite the fact that it has numerous issues. It's far from being a disappointment, but it's also far from being a great piece. It's a huge step back when compared to the previously released Gandalf and Legolas, which are amazing figures in comparison. For $350, the quality should match the high price tag. The head sculpt is decent enough in terms of resembling actor Bruce Campbell. Though, as you've already alluded to, it's missing some much needed stubble. More blood could've also helped as well. The neck is a different color than the head sculpt for some reason. The teeth that come with the Deadite Ash head sculpt are a bit off, even though the portrait itself looks really good. The Deadite Linda head sculpt has also been sculpted rather nicely. The clothing has some good stitch work. However, it could've been afforded some much needed weathering. The cabinet diorama stage compliments the piece really well. However, it can be a bit of a pain to put together, as you've pointed out. One of the buttons is bent. The right side of the upper torso has already split apart. I look forward to seeing you mod this figure. I'm sure that it will end up being a night and day difference when compared to the stock figure. This is a nice looking piece that has potential. It's unfortunate that Asmus Toys dropped the ball in some areas because the figure could've been great. Otherwise, thanks as always Dean for another wonderful video!
agree 7/10. i think customizing it can bring it to a 8/10. i preordered and already can see that I will have to do a lotta work to it. but thats part of the fun
To be honest I couldn't disagree more. I think it's more of a 4/10 I don't know how he came to a 7 when he's given better figures worse reviews. Not hating as I think dean is a great reviewer normally. just don't see this figure anywhere near a 7 the headsculpt is god awful it's horribly painted the clothes and body looks awkward and nothing is weathered properly everything just looks rushed and sloppy on it. Can't judge these things on what custom work we can do to make them look better because that's not the point. It's an expensive piece and for the price I think it's absolutely shocking. If this was hot toys I feel like he'd tear it apart. Feels like he's being alittle too nice on it.

Dean's just released a video showing his custom work on it and I will admit it looks much better now but still not as high score as he's saying. I'd say with his custom work it brings it upto a 6 for me now. He said he thinks it's a 9 or maybe higher now with his custom work done to it but I just respectfully disagree I don't see it. But yes he's definitely improved the figure a lot but let's be honest most people can't improve there figures like he does. He's been in the game awhile now so he knows how to improve these figs. Most collectors want a good figure straight out of the box.
A good figure overall. The Sideshow one was very cartoony looking, so neither look like Bruce Campbell - but weirdly both do capture Ash (if that makes sense?). A few flaws with this piece, but if you've got it enjoy it.

Looks ok.. Sideshow Collectibles refer to the exclusive version as Luxury Edition. Luxury + Evil Dead seems like a mismatch of words ;D $150 extra for the base seems like not such a good deal. The main figure, he looks decent enough. The book of the dead looks good. He needs some blood on his nose.. the seamless arm does not look that great, on camera atleast..

Great review and complete second all those comments. It's an absolute shambles of a release and should never happen. I'd expect this from a very poor third party, and not an official licensed company. This has put me off asmus. But I do know a 'Dean custom' and this will look fantastic (How it should look) - but as everyone say's "We shouldn't have to" - look forward to the mod videos and your final version.
The table and piece that connects to the back wall is dreadful! Mine snapped trying to connect it to the table/wall. I emailed them and they’re gonna send a replacement but that whole bit is shoddy 👎
The figure is not bad looking at all. But you think paying $300 for a figure it should be absolutely fucking flawless. You shouldn't have to mod anything. But us as collectors we are addicted to collecting and we will just buy the things that we want even though there is stuff wrong with them. Because there are a lot of customizers out there and people that can do it themselves. My point is we shouldn't have to mod figures that cost us much money. I totally get it with TOTS Michael Myers 78 coming in at whopping $120
Why have seemless arms without seemless wrists? Bent button, where was quality control??? So much they did wrong here. What the absolute Hell was they thinking????? Kind of a mess of a figure in all honesty the way I see it, especially for the price. Glad I passed on it.
I had this on preorder but canceled after seeing the first batch of pictures. Watching your review I’m alright with my decision. I love Ash but I want to see him done properly and this isn’t it to me. Maybe if I can get this figure second hand for cheaper I may get it but for full price it’s a sad pass.

Adding the Jx body for the ripped shirt I seriously recommend. The fit and skintone hands done add another dimension to this.

A good pose were Ash wouldn't be too tall: him leaning in knee on the base to shot/saw Henrietta.
