Interesting fact: Black crowds went to the Apollo theater in the forties and fifties, and Buddy Holly was the first white performer to go there. His fondness for black people wasn't that great, but he got up and performed his music and the black people went for it because they could see their inspiration in his music. He also went in and had major jam sessions in clubs that were filled with black people.
