I really do love seeing Sonya patiently waiting for Johnny to punch them wo she can do her thing, its so silly. A lot of the fatal blows arent as cool or cinematic as they are in 11 but the addition of Kameos gives them their own flair and personality which is nice

I feel they have either toned it down or didn't want to make it three hits anymore for Netherrealm

I do agree with that, it was always my gripe with Injustice for the obvious flag as to what was gonna happen, then again, it was easier to block in Injustice. Maybe it’ll feel fine, who knows, I’m personally waiting for a sale and haven’t played it yet.
