It’s a tbi not efi and there’s no spider in that engine. Spiders were on the vortec engines.

I did the exact same conversion on a 4.3l I have. Bought the cheap Amazon carb and finally gave up and replaced it with a Holley 2300/4412. It has the correct hookup for the throttle cable and trans cable. That van would have crushed the Corvette, nice driving!

I had a key get stuck in the On position in my 72 Vette. Turned out to be a plastic gear inside the column broke some teeth off and they got wedged back into the gear, jamming it in place.
I think the sliding door wants to open Delorean style now.
Happens to the best of us. I finished, for the most part, my 69 Datsun 510. All sorts of goodies. I was out testing my new breaks, locked them up because no abs, spun 180, landed in a ditch. Destroyed the fender, rocker, quarter, and C PILLAR. I had a concussion, but that's all. I feel your pain.
I don't usually comment on videos, but I'm glad that you and the corvette are okay! I don't know how you missed it!! My first thought was you took it out entirely.
Aww man. Giving me flashbacks of when I was 14 and crashed my dads truck into the vintage tractor he was restoring in the back of the garage. Yes, I deserved a beat-down, and yes the tractor still ended up fixed and beautifully restored, albeit delayed several years. Sorry again dad!
God damn Casey. I thought you were quick with the brakes. I nearly crashed into my dad's truck after changing my brakes and bearings. I had a brainfart and forgot to at least pump them. I had my foot on the brake when I started it. It is an automatic. And idles really high at a cold start. I shifted into drive and the brake was not doing anything, so I took off. I slammed it in park, and it stopped within a few inches of my trucks rear bumper

Now that's funny. Tip on the sliding door. Put some hinges on the roof , Make a cheap gallwing door. I'm on my 7th safari . Being 3'10 I love the head room & aiiwheel. Looking forward to the fix.

Sucks that it was crashed but it just means it will be better the second go round. Put custom barn door hinges from the extended cab Silverado to fix the side door and finish it up in a candy red metallic paint
I'm pretty sure 1st gen caddy escalade front clip fits on them.😊

Oh yeah and I had to get a little cheap kit for the 700 r4 transmission to shift correctly it is an adapter bracket they sell to make the throw correct

The sliding door you might could get by with new brackets . That work you put into the frontend paid off , it took the force of the impact as it should .....

Check your linkages on the trans u can put in in park by hand just unbolt the linkage and see we're the match iss... not a big issue... also can ne the ignition column there is a pin that can stop it
Sucks that happened, but 2 'good' things; 1) You didn't get hurt (seriously) & 2) the vette didn't get hurt...so that kinda makes you the hero of the day!

transmission is not gonna shift if it relies on a tps .your gonna have to but a kit that bolts a tps on the side of the carb .just heads up

OMG Casey that sucks man!!! Well, I have a 2000 GMC Safari in great shape for sale. Has a GM cert crate motor with 40k on it. Good luck getting that van straight up again! What a bummer!
On the bright side, now you have some good parts for another project. You could even use the whole chassis for something that would get more views than an Astro Van.

Off Subject, but is it possible to setup an air ride suspension. To where you could lift the van & use soft suspension for light off road/ dirt gravel country roads....Then go back lower & stiffer for regular street driving?

Just use a fuel pressure regulator then you can use your stock fuel pump I did this when I put a V8 in my S10 Blazer that came with a 4.3 V6 like you have now all I ran was a regulator and I was good to go

It's like a perfect storm: the engine, transmission, ignition, AND brakes all conspired against you! At least parts can be replaced and metal can be straightened. It's not like you're a stranger to fixing messes like this.

Not the carbs fault lol. I think it was a short between the steering wheel and the driver's seat. And that's TBI injection not what is refered to as spider injection. Spider injection is the sequential injection that is inside the intake manifold on later model 4.3L and 96-98 full size truck Vortex engines. Glad you were not injured badly. High idle and no brakes isn't a good combination lol. Be Safe bro.

Don't know if you'll make it to my comment but you really don't have to put pressure regulator different pump and all that kind of stuff in to run the carburetor. I have an old TBI 94 Chevy truck and I am running a carburetor on it with just a tee fitting no pressure regulator and the return and the return. The carburetor uses what it needs and the rest goes right back and the fuel pumps never under a load it also gave me the opportunity to run an extra fuel filter that's see-through
