      Easily done! Any pro tips on adjusting mirrors would be useful to many of us newer caravans. Another quickie topic perhaps?

      @CaravanVlogger  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks for watching 👍🏻our mirrors don’t need much if any adjustment when putting them on. They don’t move, sometimes need a little up or down movement. Usually stop after driving for a short while to adjust. No easy way to do it 🤷‍♂️. Thanks again Graham

    Watching your video made me look at which Milenco mirrors I had Graham. I kept the original box and they are the grand aero with flat glass. I bought them when we collected our caravan in Feb 2013 and have been using them ever since. Didn't know they were available with different shape glass. Thanks for the detailed video. Rob

    Awesome vlog Graham, you demonstrated the difference really well as it is really hard to decide which type to buy just from descriptions. I can now have confidence in purchasing the right type for me. Keep up the good work on your channel as you really help newbies like me and I for one really appreciate it.

    They say every day is a school day, It never really entered my mind as to whether they were convex or flat! You can really see the difference! Great video as always Graham 👍🏻

    Nice one Graham. On the face of it, you wouldn’t realise how different these mirrors are. I always used convex mirrors and I found they provided better coverage even though the image seems slightly misshapen. Great Vlog sir... it’s your channel 😂😂 Trev

    Aha, I’ve broken my mirror, have I got a flat or convex mirror. I remember my mate Graham did a video explaining the two types. I now know which replacement I need. Thanks Buddy I owe you a frothy one 🍻

    We are only two years into caravaning so are still on the sticky ones 😁. But good advice for when we are upgrading, thanks Graham. Cheers Stuart and Rebecca.

    Hi Graham, I use convex on both sides, I was advised that if car mirror is convex then use the same towing type mirror so not to cause confusion with distances. I have same grand aero mirrors as you and find them the best having been towing for 25 years with different types.

    • @CaravanVlogger
      @CaravanVlogger  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s very good advice👍🏻 for some reason I thought my car wing mirrors were flat 🤷‍♂️ hence me buying the wrong one. Thanks for watching. Graham

    Great Vid Graham, We have convex mirrors....I think 🤔 they are the Milenco but the teardrop shape, there ok but not the best. I’m going to updated the mirror head to the bigger one, they seem much better. Thanks for sharing, Martin 🙂

    Hi Graham I have always used convex on the nearside as it is better when pulling back in after overtaking (gives a wider view) and flat on the offside so I get a real prospective of vehicles coming up behind me when pulling out. with a convex mirror things look further away than they really are so could be a problem when pulling out. just my way not saying i'm right! thanks for posting the Video.

      Thanks for the comment Martin. That makes sense. It’s what I had for one journey, it’s a matter of getting used to it I guess. I prefer 2 convex just because I’ve always had it. No right or wrong way.. Thanks for watching 👍🏻 Graham

    Great to see we are all using mirrors some caravaners let the side down and don’t use any. I was solo the other day following a guy with a Mitsubishi L200 towing a very large Hobby his rear view was non existent.

    Thanks Caravan Vlogger. I have just been on a caravan reversing course. The tutor had a set of Millenco Aero 3 towing mirrors and there was a lot of discussion re mirrors with those on the course. So decided to buy a new set. Struggling, having gone to a number of sites to purchase a set of convex it would appear that flat mirrors are in stock but not convex which started me thinking -- should I buy flat? Thanks to your video I am going to persevere and go for the Convex set. Again thanks for confirming my initial thoughts. Have subscribed and looking forward to more good tips.

    Hi I was told that convex is for the nearside and flat is for the offside

    • @CaravanVlogger
      @CaravanVlogger  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Peter, that’s interesting I’ve not heard that before. That’s actually what I ended up having. I didn’t like it and grounded the caravan on 2 roundabouts 😧Maybe because I’ve always used convex?? Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏻👍🏻Graham

    Just purchased new mirrors from towsure 1 is a Flat mirror the other is a Convex . This is also stated on the Box which they came in s a pair. My question is which mirror would you use on the Drivers side ?

    • @CaravanVlogger
      @CaravanVlogger  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question, I didn’t know they sold them like that. I have the same both sides. I guess try them both sides to see what works best 🤷‍♂️

  • @JamesKing-sb4tq

    I have convex mirrors on the car, I hate them, vehicles coming up behind appear much further away than they really are. Flat mirrors allow you to accurately judge the distance of vehicles coming up from behind. I suspect a large number of incidents where people pull out in front of you is caused by glancing in the convex mirror and thinking that you have a lot more space than you actually do. As was said in the video vehicles appeared to be a lot closer with flat compared to convex, it's because they are and the convex ones have been misleading you.

      So true. you do get a wider angle of view with a convex mirror but the perspective is deceiving.

    How are the suction mirrors do they stay on ?

    • @CaravanVlogger
      @CaravanVlogger  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, from memory they do, there’s also a strap to catch them if the do fall. However, from memory they vibrate a bit and although they might be cheaper, you do get what you pay for.
      I’d always recommend the Millenco aero grande 4 mirrors. I’ve used them for years

    Convex are better because they give a better wider view of what is going on. If your driving lessons are remembered you will KNOW that you should NEVER move off with just a look in the mirror ( internal and external), you follow it up with a look over your shoulder(s). This is particularly important when towing any type of trailer. It is of course distracting if you have a flat car mirror, to fit a convex extension mirror to it. I don’t know how many vehicles have flat mirrors fitted but if you vehicle has, then a flat extension mirror should be fitted. I give this advice as a retired driving instructor and a Caravaner with 51 years experience.

    I’ve always assumed my towing mirrors were flat. Checked them after watching your video, found them to be convex.

    • @CaravanVlogger
      @CaravanVlogger  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Caravan & Us I had exactly the same which is why I bought flat as a replacement for my convex mirror. I didn’t know if was convex 😱Apparently most are. Thanks for watching Graham

  • @jamesdecross1035
    @jamesdecross1035 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Interesting. They say it is much easier to judge distance with a flat mirror, but a convex has anti-blind-spot advantages.
