It's quite different from the Gallopers we have in Britain. That it goes round anticlockwise, the horses look quite different to ours. I do not know of any Wurlitzer fairground organs in the UK. We did have quite a few of the cinema ones. I was interested in what you said about the speed, as there's the scene in Strangers on a Train where the carousel goes at breakneck speed. I assume they didn't go quite that fast. I see that the carousel in the film was powered by gas engine. Almost all UK fairground rides are electric, with a few very old ones powered by steam.

I love carousels! I like to ride on animals that go up and down on carousels because that's more fun!
