Absolutely awesome,,,,, glad to see he has the opportunity to use all of the experience, expertise, and knowledge at his age! Just a sneaky hunch but I bet he don't see that as work either.
Those older CAT machines are pretty incredible , if the charging system and batteries are in good shape , and fuel is appropriately treated they are cold weather staters beyond belief to me , hold that glow plug switch as prescribed and if they crank decently they'll rattle to life ! I'm grateful we don't have enough snow to have to move it with a crawler ! Never had to deal with a manual adjust blade but looks like a job for an ambitious young man on a nice day !!! Fun to watch your dad operate with the frosting on top !!! Hahaha Thanks for the video !!
God bless your father at a young age ❤❤. I'm glad he's going strong!! I've lost my parents many years ago. Luv the video. God bless your family and merry Christmas and happy new year. From Ne now retired at 64. Ms T Ellis ❤❤
My dad is gonna be 81 this year...he's up everyday fixing or helping someone...keeps him young...outworks me some day..lol....glad to still have him around...bet you appreciate your dad also
Nice he can come help. He is probably grinning from ear to ear . Thanks for keeping all our snow out there and kicking the storms south of us lol or north . We have about 10 inches here max but not much cold lots of mud in woods
Looking good on the dozer tell your dad thank you. Brings back good memories just like watching a skidder plow the roads and landing. Thank you David good video. Have a great day.
The old D6D is in good shape. They're great little work horses, I was on clean up pushing up fire piles that hadn't burnt properly with one. Hope I will sit be able to do what I enjoy when I reach Your Dad's age. I think it helps keep you young and healthy if you're out doing something meaningful.
Now that’s how it’s done. Keeping the snow away so you actually have room to work and move around in. Bugs me when people do half ass jobs then they wonder why things get stuck . Keep up the good work
Feeling a tad jealous. I'm 72 and still using a walker due to complications after heart surgery. I'm getting there though! Thanks Mr. Haley for dozen that trail, reminding us all that we can get after it. God bless!
NICE.... venison sandwich, horseradish...and a cup of joe and your pop's ready to go....love it. If you have goals and purpose in life... regardless of age ... age takes a back seat to the goals set forth....it is work ethics...as your family knows...God Bless.
A little leaf blower will usually get rid of show on parked equipment and vehicles pretty nicely. That depth of snow is totally a dozer job. Good thing you have one and a dad who likes to run it. My dad was the same way but he liked to shovel snow by hand till he was 87.
Great Video - look at you sneaking in a video in the morning - Your Dad is a inspiration for those who love to drive a dozer. Blade is 40-44" inches and he is pushing about 5 feet depth of snow, good job. Hopefully you took him out for lunch after.
The way he getting the landing done it will freeze up really good for you guys as well as the roads he getting it right down there. That's alot of snow to move. Keep up the great videos
Hi Dave!!😀😀 Wow!! You are just about our of room to put the snow. Have you got over 3 feet of snow on the level?? Lucky you guys have the old 6 . Take care my friend!!😀😀❤
Good day Mr. Haley .I realy like to see some one the same age as my self run a great peice of equipment .I know he is grining ear to ear just as I do when I am on my pulling tracto r . Hope to see more of your father on other videos .Take care .
At his age with probably the hours of experience has on one he could probably turn the angle of his blade n minutes. I know a guy who at the time was just 27 years old he could turn hisvblade in less than 20 mins by himself. It is amazing how good cat skinners get and make it look so simple. Giggles being a driver, i remember my first time dropping and winching up my blade to move a old D7 just say the afternoon was a long one thank god was sumer. But i did learn in time ways to do it effortlessly and made hauling one simpler
Great day had. A lot of what I did was square blading. 'U' blades with tilts(6-B's, 7-E's and 8-H's). A few like that (6-D's and 7-G's)with hydraulic tilts and some like that (4's, a 5 and 6-C) with manual tilts. And a 6-B with a 'U' blade with a foot tilt. You pay the light bill with whatever is sitting there that you can swipe before someone else comes to run it! Pop's not by hisself on running one of those but I'm not a big fan of suspended pedals and Deere steering BUT you pay the light bill with what's there. You can make a BIG snowman with Big chunks too! Who did you get to shoot that since you only work after dark! Just axing!
You'll get more rolling action on your angle blade if you pitch it back more to where the back of the blade is straight up and down. And the blade will stay clean. Looks like you would have to extend the lower push braces to do it.
David is doing video and Dad backs up, Dave where'd you go? Dave get out from under that track, this is no time to nap! Who wouldn't like to push snow, in a dozer with a cab, that's what keeps him young, fun stuff, yeah Dad!
loved the video-when i was a kid and helping my dad, we had no cab on our jd 430 dozer. still loved running it-oh. hey seen the muffler was loose there. will we see a video this spring fixing that problem? would like that-eh. hehe
If i was washing parts my father would say. You're doing a schitty job son just keep up the good work. Or im gonna fire u and hire u back for less money would give every dime i have to hear his voice today.
Nice video as usual. My pop worked until he was eighty two after that he pretty much stayed around the farm sometimes working in the shop. Do you run the tracks that loose because of ice? Thanks for sharing your time is appreciated 👍🏻
I d worry about those hoses getting damaged ? Maybe time to give that cab / dozer some attention in the spring . are those track running a touch loose ?
Cool to see your father out working still! About the same as my grandfather he’s about the same age as your dad and still works running his dozers and driving his ole r model Mack dump truck! What’s your father’s favorite to ru dozer or the 170? I had a starter do the same thing on my 648 a few weeks ago except I tried hitting the key about a hundred times and nothing but a couple of semi gentle taps on the starter with a hammer and it fired right up and been fine ever since
That's really not work,, he's just playing. LOL Thank God for him He'll outwork us all. I retired at 63 but still play truckdriver in my buddies tri-axle sometimes..
Absolutely awesome,,,,, glad to see he has the opportunity to use all of the experience, expertise, and knowledge at his age! Just a sneaky hunch but I bet he don't see that as work either.

You and your father produced an excellent snow video, I really enjoyed it. Keep safe and I will look forward to your next one.
Great video , nice old cat, my d6d keeps on running also. Have a great year
Looking good on the dozer tell your dad thank you. Brings back good memories just like watching a skidder plow the roads and landing.

I'm 69 and still do that.....
hope I'm still doing this in 10 years......
Very Satisfying, Very Fullfilling, 'Man-Thang'
Now that’s how it’s done. Keeping the snow away so you actually have room to work and move around in. Bugs me when people do half ass jobs then they wonder why things get stuck . Keep up the good work
My Dad is 84 in April still works 40 hours a week housing authority
Dad looks good pushing that snow around. Glad to see him out and about.
Man your Dad loves running dozer! He is right at home running it. Pretty cool view of him making that second pass on that haul road.
Nice work 👍👍👍 your dad makes it look so easy it’s obvious that he has a lot of hours doing that
Thanks for the video David. Love Dads hat. Reminds me of my late grandfather.
Glad your dad can get out there and putz in the woods runnin equipment especially the dozers, the 6 is in good shape and pops off when ready
Gotta love it! My Dad 72 and still work harder then people Half his age!
this looks fun for sure thanks for putting this on the tube
Feeling a tad jealous. I'm 72 and still using a walker due to complications after heart surgery. I'm getting there though! Thanks Mr. Haley for dozen that trail, reminding us all that we can get after it. God bless!
Just go slow and HEAL, Cal. Just chug along. A chug beats nothing by a mile!

What a great video David! All the best to your dad! I hope I'm still a useful member of society at that age! Lol. Oh yeah, Have A Great Day!!
It looks cold and snowy.
It's nice to have a cup of coffee ☕️
in a cozy sofa and look at it.

I always loved to hear the 955 traxcivator my neighbor had the sound of the turbo also their D8 cat when they ran that they have a sound of their own
Very good video, we all could learn a lot from Old School way of logging It's great to see your father running bulldozer.
I have always heard that D 6-D Cat dozer is one of the best dozers cat has ever made.
I was always partial to a 'C' but it was usually 'tuned' on a little 1st. Kept the top of the stack pinholed BUT it's PUSH too!
Great Video - look at you sneaking in a video in the morning - Your Dad is a inspiration for those who love to drive a dozer. Blade is 40-44" inches and he is pushing about 5 feet depth of snow, good job. Hopefully you took him out for lunch after.
Great video. My uncle used to work for Northern Engine. His job was picking up and delivering machine to people.
The way he getting the landing done it will freeze up really good for you guys as well as the roads he getting it right down there. That's alot of snow to move. Keep up the great videos
"At 79 he still likes to work." And may he be able to, as long as it brings him pleasure.
Not only does he love it he's good at it too.
Very cool to see your dad still working hard my dad is 76 still working hard to👍excellent video
You can spot a good dozer operator within the first ten seconds of watching them operate.
Hi Dave!!😀😀
Wow!!
You are just about our of room to put the snow. Have you got over 3 feet of snow on the level??

Nothing better let him go with a bottle of fireball and make his day, we at an older age still love to work.
Д6д крепкий,выносливый бульдозер.Ремонтнопригодный,с хорошей производительностью.Один из лучших для леса в 80-90годах👍👍🤷♂️
Always love the videos David.
Enjoy the time you have with him
One thing I learned doing this kind of work in the bush, if your lunch is in a brown paper bag don’t leave it anywhere where there’s whisky jacks
Dang that's a lot of snow, and now I'm cold just from watching! LOL

Ha ha three foot pile of snow across the road.......a dad's way of saying get to work... screwing around time over 🤣🤣

Keep. Up the great. Work....
You are right...he sure loves to run dozer :)
Grandpa’s still got it , if you sit around you just get rusty if you keep moving everything still works just might be a little slower
Wish I could do that at age 79 !!
Lucky guy !!
Sounds like it has been well maintaned👍

My ole 71 D5 with the manual blade was really fun in the mountains to angle.
Got too love them old timers, they just know how to work hard, and there smart

Wow! Were you lookin out the window!
Hey Dave... a needed piece of equipment ... a snow brush... have a nice day
the little engine that could, gotta love a diesel purr
Always had snow that deep back in the good old days . Had to use a snow shovel around trees before cutting with chain saw .
I almost look forward to hearing the ol' 6.0 grunting around in the snow as anything else! Todd the retired trucker.
Good old cat 🐈 😀😉✋🖐👍
awesome video

Matthew Scarberry .....your Father sounds like he was a cool funny guy.
I was waiting for the line and he delivered. hehe Madlad
and also a kim kardashian joke in one video... my day is made
If that was a video game he would be on expert mode
Nice!!!( only way to properly move snow....!).......(and maybe a little bottle of Blackberry Brandy!!)
Nice video as usual. My pop worked until he was eighty two after that he pretty much stayed around the farm sometimes working in the shop. Do you run the tracks that loose because of ice? Thanks for sharing your time is appreciated 👍🏻
I think it was a spruce hen too.
Your dads probably one of those guys that needs to work or he'd go nuts.
Looks like some nice popple by the landing.
Feel free to send some of that cold this way.. won’t freeze at all here
Is the. Manifold broke or is the muffler clap lose
I d worry about those hoses getting damaged ?
Maybe time to give that cab / dozer some attention in the spring . are those track running a touch loose ?
The hoses are where the operator comes in. And the tracks are a dab loose.
So where does this road go to....
Is the broken window so you can get fresh air when running it?

Pretty awesome!
What year was that old dozer manufactured?
He can show us a thing or two because he has seen a thing or two.
you couldnt keep my dad off his tractor. died at 83. i never learned to plow, i never got a chance till he was gone
That's really not work,, he's just playing. LOL Thank God for him He'll outwork us all. I retired at 63 but still play truckdriver in my buddies tri-axle sometimes..

I'm not sure your dad is "working" to me it looks more like playing with big toys (I'm a bit jealous) in the snow!
Well done skippy
