So happy that you are making progress on something that seems to have been a bother to you for so long, and , making the shop more functional, to boot :)

I've wanted to see in the loft for so long. After hearing you describe the function to each space in the cave I'm inspired like never before to design the layout and function of my dream shop.
I feel that watching Adam working in his shop is the closest I can get to my passion. I studied architecture and the part I loved the most about archi school is the process of physically making stuff, spending time sourcing for materials, planning the build and of course time in the machine lab. Having worked in a corporate setting for a while now I really missed all of that - ironically, everything seems so arbitrary and empty in the world of big buildings and projects. Unfortunately, DIY and making stuff in general isnt really popular in my country, there are only handful of maker space which makes them rather expensive and exclusive. My goal is to have my own practice some day and a small workspace where I start rediscovering those joys, but for now I'll just continue to indulge in all the one day builds on here!
This loft is the size of where my girlfriend and I live. Student life man :P. If my workshop is a quarter as cool as yours one day, I'll be a happy man
Could you imagine Adam making this video in 20 years time, with a long flowing white beard, and a hunchback, showing us his treasures! Thanks Adam, enjoyable and mesmerizing as usual.
I have a question that you can skip if you choose. During your time with Mythbusters - How much did Jamie influence your organizational scheme(s) in your current life? Thanks in advanced.
I was thinking of asking if you would ever move to a bigger space. Now that I see the lofts, I imagine it would be a MAJOR undertaking to move all that stuff. It also amazes me that you know where things are.
I was so expecting a Chevy Chase Christmas Vacation scene when he pulled down the stairs. And did i see a camera case with the name Tippett on it? Does Phil know you have his case??

"You're looking down the throat of the rest of your life..." To the point, and vaguely mysterious, and very relatable.
Man. I really hope, for the preservation of these historical artefacts, that you've got a good fire suppression system installed! An amazing collection of awesome stuff. :)
I second that concern. I see few fire extinguishers. There should be one on each wall in each area. Also, no sprinkler system.
The irony is that its a converted firehouse, IIRC.
I've wanted to see in the loft for so long. After hearing you describe the function to each space in the cave I'm inspired like never before to design the layout and function of my dream shop.
Awesome tour!!!
As a firefighter… this space makes me nervous.
As a non firefighter this space makes me nervous.
Indeed. Fire would have a nice home there.
@@jfbeam oh, please no foreshadowing. In our station (yes, Germany) this costs a beer crate, if something happens then.
@@the_jcbone it’s like the taboo of saying ”it’s quiet” when working in a hospital
As a space this firefight makes me nervous.
I love everything about this. Thank you Adam, from a life long fan
This loft is the size of where my girlfriend and I live. Student life man :P. If my workshop is a quarter as cool as yours one day, I'll be a happy man
AND he’s in San Francisco. TV money does great things
It's a low ceiling but by no means a small space. Much bigger than what I lived in as a student.
Very impressed by Adam’s ladder descending ability
I am no longer calling my basement "The Basement." It is now my "Savage Space".
You shop is so together, it's had me feeling bad about my mess. I'm feeling much better now
most important thing shown: Adam's snapple supply.
It seems so cozy to mee. I love kinda small workshops. The character just spills out at the seems.
“Things I need for projects” “these shoes from 2003”
I was thinking of asking if you would ever move to a bigger space.
I think we HAVE been up there for a peak at one time. I remember Adam showing us his costume collection that was stored there....they were all in different shape & sized garment bags. But I loved the tour!
"One of the reasons people find this terrifying is because - when you look down this ladder, you're looking down the throat of the rest of your life"
**sprints down ladder at full speed without holding onto anything**
As a disabled person that had tinges of terror to me!
Adam, you really really really need a permanent museum exhibit of all your terrific artifacts! I know it’s expensive to do but It could be straight forward and simplistic. We’ll be your first customers. 😃
We have seen the loft before. "Tour of Adam Savage's cave!" 10 July 2014
So? Must every inaccurate (perceived or otherwise) statement be corrected? It just doesn't matter.
@@watcherofwatchers Must you write this on every comment that does this. It doesn't matter. Also, this is the internet. Corrections are going to be made in the comments. It shows the viewer has been paying attention for a long time.
@@watcherofwatchers no but it can be useful for people who want to see what it was like before or comfort for people who think they're going mad because the could have sworn they'd seen it before and want to refinde that video
@@IsYitzach well, considering the same comment was made repeatedly, yes.
@ 13:48... Adam you have balls of steel. That is nothing short of a superpower
9:29 I’m reporting Adam to the USPS for those unreturned parcel carriers. lol
There's always someone who has to say it. Always.
@@watcherofwatchers Dude you've been spamming these comments all day what is your fucking problem

Oh my gosh, that fabric section! 🤩
Hey, almost of your lifesaving, "soft-good," nylon rigging equipment should be retired after about 5 years, if not sooner. Not sure how much you still use any of it, but love ya too much not to mention it.
Most manufacturers say 10 years now, but absolutely correct. It was the first thing I thought of when he showed that!
Thank you for the awesome tour Adam. It would be great to see a side-by-side comparison of the before, and after progress that you have made. Keep it up!
