I have to agree with Dave's system tweaks going from $20 to $30 even though he would've won more doubling up because we also watched Alex get wiped clean and going from being up to being down in one spin because he doubled up. Alex's small, red, even one couldn't match Dave's big, black, odd one. 🤣
There’s a reason casinos don’t bar roulette players, no matter what “system” they try. And on the other hand, there’s a very good reason that casinos DO bar blackjack card counters. Blackjack is the only beatable game in the casino, period, and it requires counting, a large bankroll, and LOTS of time, but it can be done (at least until the casino notices and bars you from playing).

Its pretty obvious when looking, there's 4 big black numbers on the 2nd column and only 2 in the 3rd column.
I think he was going for more coverage with less jackpot spots while your way would produce less coverage with more jackpot spots. I would play his way if my plan was to minimize risk, burn some time, and build some comp value. If I was trying for a quick and consistent reasonable hit I think I'd go your way.
No system works. The house will always win, given enough time. It’s how the game is set up. Every bet is payed out by what you didn’t bet minus the zeros, so it’s break even, except for the zeros. Let me explain. If you bet one dollar on every single number, from 1-36, every time you play, the ball will land on one of those numbers. You will lose $35 because you missed them, but the number you hit, you’ll get 35 times your bet, so you now have $36. Exactly what you started at. But, what if the ball lands on zero? Then you don’t win at all. If there’s no zeros, you’ll get exactly even money. 36 for 36. But with a zero, it’s 37 bets to 36 pay. If there’s two zeros, it’s 38 to 36. So what if you bet the number AND the zeros? Well then you’re betting $38, and one will hit, and you’ll get your bet plus $35, which is $36. But you bet $38, so you lost two dollars. Columns, thirds, red or black, it’s the same odds. The pay is what you don’t bet. If you bet red, you didn’t bet black, so it’s 1-1. If you bet red every time, 18 times you’ll win, 18 times youll lose. Plus two more times you will lose, because of the zeros. The columns are the same. If you bet 1 column, you didn’t bet two columns, so you’ll get 2-1. You would break even, unless a zero hits. It doesn’t matter how many chips you put on a number, the odds are the same. Over time, you will lose, because the zeros will catch up to you. No bet is better than another bet. They all have the exact same chance of hitting. The only way to win any money at this game is to win early, and leave. If you stay, you will lose. If these guys played their “system” for 4 hours, they would lose everything they bought in with, maybe more. I’m not saying don’t play, and I’m not saying you can’t leave with more money than you started with. You just have to leave before you give it back. The casino doesn’t care, because $36 that can be won, they will take back $38. The only way to change those odds are to cheat. Or find a table that only has one zero. You’ll last longer there, but you will still lose, eventually. And stay away from triple zero games.
