Charlie Nicholl's is a endurance beast but surprised at the combine with a sub 3 second 20 metre sprint, With great hands some say he is best mark in the draft at 197cm key back if developed right could be a genuine star good thing is WCE are good a developing key backs
Fantastic assessment, I think we should keep the picks we have and not trade future picks. I think there are some handy delisted players as you mentioned. Best of luck with the move, I am sure you will enjoy the change of weather, although coming back to a Perth summer will suck 💙💛🦅🏆
I'll be interested in seeing how Mini changes the style and the type of players he likes. Next year he may decide some guys like Ryan for instance isn't the future. So you'll have guys on contract being given the heave ho. There could be quite a lot of movement out in next year... then in the years following with retirement and ageing players at the reserves. We need character guys and leadership, or the team will be rudderless. That's what people just don't get with the Baker and Graham recruitment.
I think we have to get another pick in this years draft in the first round using Hawthorns F1,F2,F3 and 26 with maybe Richmond for 10 or 11 and 18/ 20/23 which would give us 10,12,20. Next year we can trade 2 years of draft picks and could use that for Warner. But this year is the time to get midfielders and our depth is one of the worst in the comp.
Anyone know if we have extra concessions for the wafl side? We have been uncompetitive and threatening to leave for an AFL reserves. Was hoping we might have negotiated a few more list spots for ex afl players in the wafl eagles.
Please keep on giving us your thoughts on True Eagle as you have a great footy brain and you say what we are all thinking about the Eagles and also your thoughts on 2025 Season. I hope your future all works out for you mate❤
Off to work... But the spots will be taken from the draftees and also some delisted free agents. They recon the delisters are strong as everyone goes for the draft. We should move in opposite direction, but only if genuine talent there in the agegroup or type we need. We need youth yes, but also need leadership, change in culture and guy in th mid 20s.
F1 to Richmond or St Kilda for one of their 1st in the top 10. Then split 12 to Sydney for late first round as you say. Gives us 4 in the top 26. If you want to get crafty, live trade one of the Sydney’s back into the future at a premium with a cheeky third so we are poised for Chad and still could grab four this year. Trying to will trading the F1 into existence.
On True Eagles - if you're out of time, then have a newsflash shorter broadcasts about something happening at the Eagles on the day. A bit like what Backchat does. Schofield sometimes posts content on one story that's happening. Might last 2 minutes. That's what i'd do.
I reckon we will try to get an extra pick in the next 20, possibly by trading a future first and future third next year... lets hope not more. Agreed that 4 picks should be sufficient. As it allows us to hit the draft hard next year with 6 reasonable picks. But if we try to move into 2024 then we're diluting our excellent hand next year. Agreed that delisted players and train ons look a good option to fill 3 spots. We need to target specific weaknesses being tall defenders, pace and wingman. Give Flynn another year in the ruck to prove himself. Teams are getting rid of reasonable players to move and draft as many players in this strong draft and with Tasmania around the corner. Eagles need to go against the flow and instead look at the delisted and go hard for the draft next year. After all, this rebuild is going to take 4 years from now before we are hopefully contenders, so we need to build a list of some good leaders in the 23 to 26 year.old bracket, who will be there to support the kids in the next four years. Because our experienced guys are our best players and they could be gone and retired in very quick time despite 2 year contracts etc.
Hey Jesse would you think a concussion comp pick should be given to teams that lose a player early? Dan was pick 13 and was in our premiership team, if he was around today he probably would be in our best 22 maybe top 10.
Hear me out, West Coast aren’t in as bad of a situation as some think. Reid, Ginby, Waterman, Allen and Hewitt all will be/are stars and have their best footy infront of them. Saying this, no idea at all why West Coast traded their top picks for an older player. Definitely need to keep adding to this young core of talented players.

Like the content Jesse. Good luck with the move. Country moves are a pain in the arse.
Thanks mate, agreed!
Keep it up mate! Feel a bit bad for Luke Edwards and hope he can recover but I can see why we have delisted him. Hope he can do well in the future.
Hopefully Hewett gets his body right. Him Reid and Yeo with Kelly and baker and graham rolling through. That would be a descent midfield.

If we don't at least try to get another top 20 pick I think I might cry.

Thanks Sean! The change of weather will be the biggest silver lining haha
@TrueEagleAFL 🤣🤣🤣 to be honest I haven't noticed any downturn in your responses or content. Keep up the good work, buy also don't flog yourself
Thanks mate appreciate it!

We really have to! It’s a super draft and we only have 2 picks in the top 70

Will Hayes as a rookie would be awesome

Aw thank you so much! I will continue to be here! Appreciate the support

Thatd be a great outcome!
I don’t think you would get a top ten pick for a f1 , maybe a pick in the teens for WC f1 and a pick in the 20’s for hawks f1.

Don't understand why we would re-list Culley. He is a gut running hard inside mid. Surely he's valuable as a rookie
Agree.
Bit slow, but I'd play him in darlings position, pinch hit through the mid.
Yeah a bit of a surprise I suppose...but given he was already a rookie I take it we won't do that

I thought Ledwards would be on long term list. Pity he didn't hang around until helmets improved. Being trialled nw types.
Our 7 list spots to be filled:
Delisted players:
.Jack Carroll
.DGB
.Tom Clurey or Ethan Phillips
Draftees:
.Xavier Lindsay
.Hamish Davis
.Malakai champion
Rookie draft:
.Jack Wooden

Kelly, Yeo, Gov and Ryan are still class as well now adding Baker the team is actually pretty strong except bottom 3-4 players.
I reckon we needed mid-age players to be competitive and stop younger (and older) players getting smashed.
You’re permanently coming back to Perth?
Not sure how permanent! But minimum six months!
All the best with the move back to Perth 👍. 🏆17 🏆19 🏆20 🐅🐅🐅
Thanks mate!
