After 12 month spent in R&D and testing, Savage Tech Australia is pleased to announce the long waited Savage ECU Tuning Box.
The tuning box is designed to plug and play with the factory harness on GWM Cannon Utes, brining significant improvements on both engine power and torque output without the need to reflashing the factory ECU.
When it comes to power modifications, the traditional ECU flash tunes can be detected by the dealership which could be used against warranty claims. Our tuning box eliminated the needs to reflashing the ECU. For piece of mind, the Savage Tuning Box can easily be removed from the car and will be completely undetectable once removed from the car.
On the dyno runs we have seen a solid 17% increase in torque output and 11% increase in power output at the wheels. We have also seen a significant increase on the torque curve in the range of 1800-2500 rpm, which is the most used rpm range for diesel cars. The improvement in torque curve will bring smile on your face when the car is climbing hills or towing a load.

Do any of the mods you offer void or impact the warranty on the car... Buying a cannon soon and very interested in some of your products.
you would have to remove the system before you take the car to the dealer, Just to stay on the safe side.

UPDATE ..... at end .......Are you aware that the 7 year unlimited and 5 year roadside assist is flawed. If a breakdown occurs , towing is limited to 50km, NOT to the nearest GWM service centre. It is also not 5 years unlimited km , it is 5 yrs or 100,000 km. Im at 30000km after 6mths so roughly 18mths roadside assist. If the car needs any sort of towing and the engine cant be started, a tilt tray is required. Nearest dealer could be 1 thousand km away, hardly the reason I bought this vehicle. I am setting up a case with fair trading as all of the dealers ,sold these vehicles under false pretences. Anyone who has one , ask your dealer for clarification. They will refer you onto GWM roadside assist who will then spill the beans on this fraud. Update...................Gwm have rectified these issues. Towing to the nearest GWM dealership Australia wide. Well done GWM.
Are you starting a class action? Because I just found out of the car is registered in a business name warranty is also limited to 7 years or 150k km which ever comes first! Not unlimited. I was not told that by the dealer when I bought it! Actually 2 dealers I spoke to didn’t mention it!! Dodgy dodgy dodgy!
I was contacted by Mike from GWM. He assured me that the warranty and roadside assist were as sold 7 yr unlimited and 5 yr unlimited with towing to nearest Gwm dealership if needed. I have copies of all the website warranties , that have all been amended and changed and it is Mikes word only that I have . He is a good guy and was very apologetic for the stress caused. Get your dealer to put in a request for him to contact you. Mike from GWM customer service. Hope this helps. Im still waiting for written confirmation. Am very dissapointed in the dealerships hand wiping.

No. I have never sold a car without telling the truth. Sometimes dropping a lot of money, but with a clear conscience. The dealers here are liars and should be held accountable. Its not that hard to be honest.
@@UTPP I mean when you are sold something with a stated warranty of 7 years and unlimited KM, and then it's dropped down from what they told you when you bought it wouldn't you be annoyed too? Especially when these cars are unproven, that warranty is usually the reason people are buying these cars...

Depending on your right foot. Accelerating harder yes but driving normally about the same if not slightly improved.

How much is it
I've got an iDrive on my 2021 model and since the factory firmware upgrade, I haven't even been using it as the car seems powerful enough. Does this give you better response/performance than the iDrive? Obviously iDrive just bypasses the throttle limiter but in general does it feel like more power? Can you run both iDrive and this tuning piggyback and is there a benefit of doing so? Thanks
Yes I drive can be used in conjunction with the tuning box the I drive is just throttle signal booster. They tuning box actually improves performance we will be doing quarter mile stock Vs tuned shortly
The idrive just changes the signal speed from the throttle sensor to the throttle body. Max Rev limit doesn't change

Depending on the driving style, normal driving will be similar if not slightly better. But if you are driving aggressively it will use more.
40-120kph we are seeing up to 1sec improvement. So good for overtaking
@@SavageTechAustralia I drove mine on the freeway on Sunday for the first time as it just kicked over the 1200kms and i can say the bloody thing is useless on trying to over take anything in standard form anything to get the power up to an acceptable level like 150kw 550nm would be a Godspeed and safe travel.. Do you have a stage 2 version on offer ? as well thank you

Could we see a correct Dyno graph as the numbers from the one on your website definitely don’t match the car
Please do some research on how dyno can vary in the link below. When reading a dyno the peak numbers mean nothing. As what you are supposed to be looking at is the gains before and after. We a Dyno is a measuring tool and didn't matter what the final number is only the before and after.

Savage Tech it's a piggy back that overrides the factory map when sensor limits are reached. The box then uses its own map to extend the ecu to achieve the stated gains..correct? Therefore it shouldn't matter what Cannon you put it into. How can it possibly vary vehicle to vehicle?
@@Merlin.75 tyre options/ snorkels/ different dyno read different. Strapping down a car loose can give false numbers, many different reasons.

I heard things like this void your warranty?
Anything aftermarket can void your warranty. The box is removable and undetectable as it does not modify the factory ecu in any way.
It won't void warranty if you take all your mods off the car. Can't wait to get a connon now. It defs needs a power upgrade.
So if vehicle goes in for a scheduled service you would just take out the piggy back box and clip in your factory blank box as you would when doing an upgrade. You wouldn't have to take out all those wire harnesses off surley.
