Was Jason Todd/Arkham Knight/Red Hood in the original Arkham Asylum game? We see the tapes of Jason Todd in Arkham Knight, but was he located in the asylum during the years of the first game? In this video we explore that.
These clips may feature nods to a presence of Jason Todd somewhere in the asylum but none of it is confirmed. It is likely that the developers just reused sections of the asylum for the clips, and that he wasn't anywhere in particular. We found at least one location of Jason Todd in game, but others may not be in the game. It is also a possibility that the devs may not have given much thought into Jason Todd at the time, as this was only the first game and the first mention of Jason was not until KNIGHT. - เกม

The Jason origin stuff is just a retelling of what we saw in the gotham city stories and the game
@Alex Georgas most comics aren’t. Rocksteady made a good chunk of the comics and the assault on Arkham movie non canon. But the stuff mentioned by Captain Beastwinger are. I don’t think rocksteady wanted the majority to be canon as they figured most wouldn’t have seen it
@Alex Georgas from what I understand about most comics that tie into other media is that they're cannon until something in the main form media contradicts it.
@@steve65283 indeed it's called B Canon. Where it's canon unless something comes up that proves it wasn't. A Canon has to be kept canon no matter what unless the writers say fuck it but that has a more mandatory rule of staying in lore. B Canon can be taken out or left without problem

Yea they probably just reused assets. Fits so well though the asylum is creepy as hell. Feels like someone has been tortured in every corner of it.

So i see thank's. I think jason todd's murder is so important in the batman universe to discover the truth when he was left in the ayslum for over a year like he said in arkham knight.
The problem I have with that is the location relative to other parts of the asylum. The mansion seemed more like an administrative building than one for patients (with a couple possible exceptions). Keeping this in mind, I think at some point, somebody would have heard the screams and be willing to think it might be more than just "the wind" and actually look into it.
In Arkham Knight after beating him he says "You left me to rot in that abandoned wing of arkham... for over a year... with HIM" Most likely not a coincidence good find though

While I don’t think that they were thinking THAT quite far ahead,the whole idea of Jason having been there the entire time without us having any inkling just makes Arkham Asylum even scarier than it already was. 😰 As a kid I was already scared to death of the lunatics! I refused to play Asylum for YEARS!!! I just went about my days playing City over and over until I’d memorized almost every bit of dialogue and character voice inflection 😂.

I heard a theory where Jason was actually in Arkham Asylum the same time Batman was and that Batman kept missing him by a fraction of a hair because Joker kept moving Jason. And Batman didn't know Jason was even missing around that time

When they remastered the first game for “Return to Arkham”, I would have loved an Easter egg with some kind of hint where Jason was. Like more clear as day that it was him. Great vid.
I believe in Return To Arkham you can find Amadeus Arkham’s cell full of Joker, Batman and Red Hood drawings on the wall as well as Jason’s wheelchair on the ground with it’s wheel still spinning because Jason had just recently been dragged out of the cell

They should've done that, like similar to how the Black Mesa remake of Half Life helped kind of clear retcons from the original half life, like putting Dr. Kleiner and Dr. Vance in the game.
These are the things that makes the Arkham series especially Arkham Asylum even more spooky....
Canonically yes, he was in the Asylum during the events of the Arkham Asylum game and has broken out by Deathstroke; however, Arkham Knight was written by a different team than Asylum and City so I guarantee he was not initially intended to be in the Asylum as this twist was created years after.
Yea in another comment I said i think it was retconned in Knight.

Well, there are references to Scarecrow setting up the events in Arkham Knight in Arkham City. Likewise, there are references to Hugo's plan for Arkham City in Arkham Asylum.
So, maybe? It wouldn't be too much of a leap to have a Jason Todd torture Easter egg just in case they decide to have him be in a third game, or even the sequel.
It would make a lot of sense if Jason was there the whole time. Cause if you go to the dug up grave near the botanical gardens you can hear something, or someone, pounding on the inside of the coffin. And I’m pretty sure that Joker moved Jason around the Asylum to keep him from getting found. Probably unrelated though :)

Devs have been brilliant with details so far, it wouldn't surprise me if they did put in Jason Todd in some secret place (remember the room in Quincy Sharps office that detailed arkham city). I just hope they release it with info if they have done it.
Finding Jason would be breaking canon, best I could see them doing is having CCTV or audio added into the background of Joker moving Jason out of Amadeus Arkham’s cell

I just played through the arkham games recently. Their attention to detail is so wild! It's so easy to over analyze something that's probably a coincidence because you never know for sure. Great vid!
Any references were unintentional to Jason’s presence in the Asylum. The original Arkham Asylum game was originally a stand alone anniversary title for Batman but it was so successful Rocksteady continued the series on. That’s why there is some continuity errors in relation to character bios and tapes for certain characters in later games.
Asylum was based off a standalone comic series that released just a couple years before the game itself did. However, a sequel was always on the drawing board, as evidenced by the secret Easter egg room adjacent to Quincy Sharp's office in Arkham Manor, which is also referenced in an Arkham City story and I think in one of the tie-in comics that were released later.

Man the environments in Arkham Asylum were so unsettling. Gotham was unsettling in general but Asylum could pass as a horror game setting easily.

1:42. Yes. That's exactly what happened. Rocksteady didn't plan this trilogy out and they've never let continuity get in the way of telling a story.
I know this game is like 11 years old but it would be cool if they made a remake of this game and made if where you could find joker torturing jason in the remake and if they do make a remake of this game which I hope they do it would be cool if when we beat the game we would actually see all the guys behind bars again
Yea i’m hoping for a remaster of origins too. For all it’s faults, that game was still amazing!
I mainly want fixes with boss fights and adding a lot more horror in the game.

Jason says in AK that he was in an abandoned wing of Arkham. Like... sure, it seems likely that writing Jason into the trilogy was unexpected, seeing as it was a different team that wrote Arkham Knight. But sticking to that possibility... maybe he would be in Extreme Isolation, beyond the Intensive Treatment wing? That's the only area of Arkham Asylum we never visit, to my knowledge...

There is a delivery of comics belonging to the saga that I could read online in pdf and there they showed that the joker had Jason held in an underground place in the penitentiary ... if you can read them you will find out ... I don't remember what comics. .. but it was one of the many Arkham city and Arkham knight that were released for the video games ... and they worked as prequels ... I read them before playing each one ... I started the arkham saga in 2016 and ended In 2017 when I bought my PlayStation 4. what you see in the video is also a clue ... the location is identical. great video! greetings from Argentina.
The whole thing was a cheap retcon because they had no plans for Jason until the third game. If anything they should update Arkham Asylum to show Jason was actually there somehow.
Jason in Arkham Knight said he was in an abandoned wing of arkham, so that could've been a wing of the asylum we couldn't explore.
There are also several parts of the Asylum that we see that ARE abandoned.
At least, the janitors seem to have abandoned them...

...There are more than four directions, but the PART of the island that he was in is as much a mystery as the building.
Arkham Island is divided into three main sections, North, West, and East. Now, Jason says he was in an "abandoned WING," so I think we can safely assume that Jason was kept in one of the buildings.
Of the buildings we visit in the game, only a few are divided into "wings," the mansion being the only one that comes to mind immediately. However, I don't believe there are any abandoned sections we get to see there, so I wouldn't count it likely.
The penitentiary holds some promise, as in it we do see some seemingly unexplored sections, including Amadeus' cell.
And of course, there are also plenty of ruins in the caves beneath the asylum, so it's possible that Joker had Jason trapped somewhere beneath the island in a section that's much older and yet more intact than the rest of the ruins.

It'll be cool if you can hear the joker hitting Jason when your in the vents or like a distant scream in one of the wings
After all, in an arkham knight story it does say this event happened after Jason entered the sanatorium, which is where that room is. Could be a coincidence but it might not.
Altough it was most likely in Mansion (due to the beetle symbols on the floor), it might also be somewhere in the medical building, since we see in the recording it has to be somewhat hospital looking and I doubt Joker would be able to move Jason around the island, from Mansion to Medical without anyone noticing anything.
Altough it's possible for Jason to be tortured in the mansion, until they moved him uncouncious in a body bag to the medical, to finish the job and get rid of the body.
I also doubt that Joker would shoot him in one of the most used rooms in the building, and only explanation of the similarities is simply re-using assets.

I kinda wish they added a reference to him in the asylum and city remaster kinda like how mw 1 and 2 remastered made references to mw3
even without it, that would have worked if it was some other villian of major henchman we encountered in the older games.
When you fight Jason, he talks about being left behind in the abandoned wing which I believe is found in the left wing of the asylum (it's not accessible but it's nice to talk about)
but it doesnt make sense as to why he was the KNIGHT. if he was inteacted in Arkham Asylum that it would feel connected.

They dropped the ball so bad in Arkham Knight, like imagine a final sequence where Scarecrow takes you back to Arkham Island, and it's like just a total 25 minute mind fuck of hallucinations of Batman confronting his fears, and every few minutes the Arkham Knight comes in and you have to fight him ala Deathstroke in Arkham Origins, and every now and then it flashes between the Knight and Jason, all while like the Asylum is literally coming apart around you. Making it about the Joker for the FOURTH TIME in the series was so brain dead of the writers.
There is a wheelchair present, which was same as the one Jason was shown to be tortured in during the Arkham Knight flashbacks.
A wheel on the wheelchair was spinning, eluding to the fact that somebody quickly took Jason Todd out of the room just before Bruce got there. Very unfortunate when you think about it.
I think that was about Amadeus Arkham.

I believe It has to be arkham asylum because in arkham city is when joker was sick and the recording it shows that joker was completely healthy but then I don't know because there's literally comics and other side games idk about

That makes sense with that video in the VR game (I think that was just where he was "killed", but not tortured). Plus, in the hallucinations, something about the floors just screamed medical center. There's an area with a wheelchair in which it's possible, but one problem with it is that I couldn't find any practical way that Joker would have gotten in and out of that area. I WISH that Return to Arkham could have included retrospective elements that weren't included in the original one, similar to the Black Mesa remake of Half-Life.

Jason said it was an abandoned wing in Arkham. I don't think that would mean intensive treatment because it was very much in use during the events of Arkham Asylum. Also, I want to mention the comics because I heard that the comics claim that he was there during the events of Arkham Asylum, which I think doesn't make sense. 1st, Jason was "killed" before Batgirl became Oracle, and this has to be the case because Batgirl had teamed up with Tim Drake as Robin, who only became Robin after Jason Todd had already been captured for months. And, Barbara is referred to as Oracle in the 1st game and her profile has her pictured in a wheelchair.
It’s possible that Joker took breaks between torturing Jason so he could figure out the layout of the asylum. It’s also possible Harley did some of the torturing whilst Joker was on the outside creating the illusion that he didn’t want to be sent back
I’m genuinely of the opinion the devs had no idea Jason was in the asylum, they only came up with that idea for Arkham knight

Theres no reference to Jason in Asylum, Jason wasnt even supposed to be in Arkham Knight. Hush was originally going to be the main villain as stated by one of the developers, they switched to the arkham knight story part way into development when a new writer came onto the team and changed the story.

During the course of this campaign of mindless violence, Joker abducted, tortured, murdered, and dismembered an entire kindergarten class, knowing of Jason's empathy for children, and stitched their body parts together in horrendous and mocking formations, leaving a trail of blood from the crime scene to an abandoned and underground wing of Arkham Asylum. As Jason watched a mother cry and attempt to put her son back together, he noticed the blood trail and followed it to the forgotten sanatorium of Arkham Asylum and turned off all his communications and equipment in order to ensure that Batman did not track him and attempt to prevent Joker's death.
When Jason entered the wing, intent on killing Joker once and for all, this played directly into Joker's hand, who knocked out Jason with a crowbar, knocking out several teeth and breaking his ankle in the process, and abducted and entrapped him within the wing to torture him over the course of a year. The forgotten halls of the asylum served as the perfect grounds to torture and humiliate Jason as, even when he was eventually caught and locked up once again, Joker had access to the wing thanks to several guards on his payroll, and Batman never suspected that Jason was just below the surface of the fully functional asylum.

no none of this is true because jason todd was already dead by the time Arkham Asylum rolled in. look up a video called ‘The Arkham Timeline’ it will show that Jason Todd died way before Arkham Asylum.
