It's interesting that I can't find ONE video that Proves that Vertical Venting works without saying, "Heat Rises" of course! All I see are videos that show how to cut a hole in the roof.

JB91710 having been im plenty of working structure fires and seeing first-hand how much internal conditions improve when the vertical ventilation occurs, I can assure you that it is integral when paired with water operations. Once the cut is made, and the ceiling materials are pushed thru, it’s as if someone has turned on a light inside the structure when on the nozzle. It also makes a huge improvement in search operations as long as the water operations are done properly. By itself, VV can increase the spread of the fire, but when done properly, with coordinated fire attack, it is incredible how much it helps.

Those who know do it it, and those who are scared to do it are probably not American 🤭

@@norfolknwhey4787 In an absolutely Perfect situation, you are correct. Like on the floor just below the roof and in the fire room. Coordinated attacks including Vertical Venting take time, time that victims don't have. Think about the process (Time) of getting the hole cut in the roof and punched through the ceiling. Think of the obstacles that can prevent the ceiling from being punched out. Think of the hallway doors that are closed when you do punch out the ceiling in a room. Think of the location of most fires in lower floors and rooms in relation to the roof. Think about how that air flow will draw the hot gasses and flames through the entire structure to get to that hole. Think about the fact that you are always creating a Structural fire when you allow the fire to extend from the living space into the attic. The problem with the USA fire disservice is, they Don't THINK, they just react.

@@Nasty_J Those who aren't stupid enough to do it, probably aren't American.

@@JB91710 leave real firefighting to men, if you're scared then it's not for you. 100% you're not American from your comment so that means you don't even understand our construction of residential structures of American dwellings from the looks of it. Arguing with you on why it works is like arguing with a probie lol.
