Something low effort that I threw together in a frenzy after Tennocon 2024, We will return to your regularly scheduled broadcasting in the following weeks, thank you for your understanding.

From yesterday's dev short: it'll be our drifter going to 1999, can't do a dating sim with a kid lol we'll find out more in Lotus Eaters
Tell that to japan
Kinda funny to draw a moral line there when the game is genocide simulator

I do like how, after all this time, they've looped back to basically the original concept of Dark Sector from WAY way back.
I am one of the 12 caliban enjoyers, and I gotta say, his rework might have a lot of QoL and small fixes
That's quiter talk.
We gonna be summoning ropalolysts!
Same I put umbra forma on my caliban
Yeah, he is in theory a very strong frame. He has easy shield-gate, AOE Full-strip, decoys to draw away fire and built in Adaptation.
He just have SO MUCH CLUNK.
still want augments for the summons, i want a firing squad that either spreads status and firerate scales by power strength or good damage scaling so they don't end up just being nerf guns
Been a distant Caliban enjoyer for a while, mainly the Circuit.. he's just not been shiny enough of a toy to put down the other shiny warframes we have at our disposal
1999 is in the past of the wharframe universe as the screen literally said "later in the origin system" when swapping to the infested liches reveal
Also the infested liches (technocyte codas) spawnd in 1999 when Arthur failed the hacking and the "Coda worm" was "injected" and had to fester until they appeared in the origin system
If failing at Snake and other retro videogames causes infested liches to appear in the Origin System, fighting all of them will be one hell of a long grind.
Been playing warframe for 2 months and i watched some dark sector videos.
After witnessing teenocon, I'm gonna say im staying for the long run
This game is a gem
@@justhaku9240 yeah but thats several hundred/thousand hours down the line
Once you get to the cinematic quests your gonna for sure be stuck with us
@@justhaku9240 you don't realise just how much of a monumental task it has become clearing all content. After 10+ years and multiple breaks, I now approach Warframe with a fairly relaxed pace instead of riding the wave the entire time and going on a massive bender farming everything in a few days, and I just can't run out of things to do now.
Happy to have you, tenno. How far are you into the story?
@@justhaku9240 I started a new account and has 400+ days of login and I'm still grinding content dude. You ain't running out of content until at least literal years of playing.
I'm realizing that Dark Sector never gave itself an actual date it was set in- I've always assumed the height of the Cold War, 1960s-1970s, if that is true, Dark Sector could easily still be canon to Warframe, making this whole thing Hayden Tenno's fault.
I always assumed it was modern day
I mean DE has said again and again and again that Dark Sector is not canon to the Warframe universe. And I don’t blame them either because why would you taint the story of your newly created universe with the baggage of one of your previous attempts that had a lot of unwanted Publisher interference.
Also it’s set in 1987 and their fictional city is also specified to be in the USSR
@@F-aber thanks for getting the actual date. I honestly don't see them ever really tying Dark Sector's story into the story of WF either, even if they had all the rights to the game. (it would be a funny to make one of the Scaldra bosses a micromanaging officer with a "D3" in their designation, imo)
Sol is our sun, its a little more specific than just "the sun" since there are about a septillion suns in the universe. It's the same as how warframe calls the moon Lua, because there are many moons in the origin system and it might be confusing otherwise.
On the topic of time travel vs alternate universe, I'm 99% sure it's just normal time travel due to the technocyte coda being around in present day Origin system. You initiate them in 1999, but then fight it once you get back to the present after it's had time to fester and evolve. How that's gonna play into the overall lore with the technocyte being present way before we thought (did Albrecht cause the outbreak or was it something else?) and the general confusions that come with telling a time travel story, I have no idea. But I have faith that DE will do it right and it'll all make sense once the update comes out. 1999's gonna have some groundbreaking lore and I'm all for it
The helminth strain that the hex are effected by was brought back in time by entrati
As far as I understand the tenno is disconnected from normal flow of time. All the alternate versions of ourselves are merged because of the deal we made with the man in the wall. Which like Alberct allows us to break the conventional rules of here and now.
i’ve always assumed the 1999 universe is an alternate reality than the main universe, as the technocyte and warframes are present but there’s no Orokin empire to make them.
As far as excalibur and Nyx’s in game armor sets, I think they’re just non canon cosmetics and you shouldn’t take the lore entry to heart, for the reasons listed above.
I think this all comes down to eternalism and alternate realities thanks to Albrecht. Kinda explains the proto armor skins too, all these years later
It should be noted that the game never stated that the Orokin _created_ the Technocyte infestation, just that they weaponised it.
As for Warframes being present back then, Albrecht's notes clarify that he's responsible for the creation of the Proto-frames, as he brought a few variants of the Helminth strain back with him when he went to 1999.
@@thegrouchization I just built my necramech(1 day building left😭) and I am sooo lost with all of these convos 😵💫 wtf is a prime sentinel
@@needy3535 Sentinels are one of the types of companion, like Kubrows and Kavats. They're little drones that hover by your shoulder, with examples including the Taxon, Wyrm and Shade.
Similar to Warframes and weapons, some of them have upgraded "Prime" versions, which have enhanced defensive stats and an upgraded version of the sentinel's weapon.
@@thegrouchizationTechnically the Primes aren’t “Upgrades” in terms of Lore. Rather they are the Relics of the Old War that we, as players, seek out and reassemble; right down to the Gilded adornments they clad our Warframes in for the parade before the Uprising occurred. The non-Primes are recreations using Infested Flesh supplied by the Helminth living on our ship. It is why it can subsume nonPrimes, for their flesh come from it, and return to it with the knowledge gleamed during our experiences.
@@hiddendesire3076 1: I'm speaking in gameplay terms in order to avoid confusing the person I was responding to.
2: The idea that the base warframes are all recreations of primes was refuted _years_ ago when Varzia Dax was added. Some frames started as primes, others had to "earn" the right to gain a prime version.
3: Non-primes being created directly from the Helminth's own flesh is pure fanon. They are constructed through the Foundry using the materials obtained in missions, with the Helminth's primary role being the maintenance of existing warframes, not the creation of new ones.
The: "it's a non-tenno faction, so a prime doesn't make sense"
A we got the void, B there being a corpus helios doesn't mean they just replicated the orokin original.
Also is it me or does he sound like sabuuchi?
Sabuuchi if he wasn't always miserable and annoying
9:05 they are technically not infested in the same way warframes are in the main game timeline. They are a “perfected” gray strain of the virus that doesn’t induce madness upon its host. According to Albrecht at least.
The possession of Arthur is believed to be the Tenno transferring into his conscious via the anatomica devices we activated via the Kalymos protocol.
"we're so back"? WE NEVER LEFT!
It kinda left a little bit in 2018-2021. But in 2022 and beyond? Yeah we are hella back.

With the new guards? Hell yeah we're feasting.
Sol is the name of the Sun. Lotus or Cy says this during the New War. We can also name the rat in duviri Sol, I believe.
To add to the Djinn part Nidus got a Prime and is also infested.
I'm pretty sure Pablo mentioned that charm will be nerfed in some way the first time they talked about companions part 2 (it was a while ago so nothing is certain but I wouldn't keep my hopes up)
Nerfing Charm might have made some sense before the companion update part 1, but at this moment I barely see anyone running Smeeta since a lot more companions are viable or even straight up better. To be honest I think it might actually need a slight buff, by removing the instant reload buff from Charm.
@@AndYou.01they probably had plans to nerf it but if smeeta usage dropped that much with part 1 scrapping the nerf would make sense I guess we'll have to wait and see
I hope they add companions to the usage chart they do every year with the Frames, Primary, Secondary and Melee
Nerfing charm would be dumb, its annoying as fuck to gst a smeeta, it should be really good
smart decision to make part 2 take like 1 year because now they can see charm doesnt need a real nerf, if anything the meta has changed so much they could buff smeeta and readjust some other companions into what is good now
Not only did xaku get skipped over but so did LAVOS.... I want cedo prime....
We still got time
Omg I didn't even realize this... Now I'm upset
In terms of whether or not warframe takes place in OUR universe or not, I think the answer ends up as "Yes, but no".
1: I think that "Swear to Sol" is kind of just a placeholder type of thing where they don't want to actually explicitly make any calls to real life religions, and so they invent a NEW religion which can effectively serve as an alternative/catch-all religion for this world which may or may not have any similarities to real world religions in terms of history. (Edit/Addition: Hell, the existence of the Gregorian Calendar in this world implies that SOME christianity-equivalent and the Roman Empire both existed in the warframe universe, since the 365 day calendar we used was established by christianity and refined by Pope Gregory XIII)
2: Kinda the same thing with Hollvania and the nonsense writing system that all of the posters have, they didn't want to discriminate/be forced to translate everything by making the posters any specific real language and so filled it in with a non-specific fantastical alphabet. also Hollvania kinda being the same kind of like how Lasria is a sort of stand-in for "Insert a big city in Eastern Europe without using anything specific to the real world"
So basically where the changes to the world are less "This is an alternative reality entirely" and more "It's Earth but with the serial numbers filed off"
Given the scene with the very Helminth esc creature dropping off a default Excalibur I feel like we're 100% getting our Warframe to 99 somehow.
Everyone wants to romance Aoi, but mannn do I wanna rizz up LaTrinity
Aoi is Arthur's lady, I won't dare touch her. I would be willing to steal Arthur's sister though.
@@cdgonepotatoes4219I wànt Arthur :3
clearly, we're gonna get a technocyte lich variant of the djinn
The fact that there are posters heralding Entrati as savior of some kind plastered about the city leads me to believe that he must've been there for a while. Rusalko is an obvious nod to Saryn, who was created to cleanse the Earth from the infestation. I think we'll be seeing other early warframes as human variant antagonists too.
16:57 Sol is the sun, they're swearing on the sun.
Warframe is the only game where Dark sector 2 comes out and the plot is stopping Old Man Yaoi himself after he starts y2k and a boyband eats most of London and also you can date literally everyone.
This is my favorite game.
12:43 I disagree on that note. 1999 is such a treasure trove of narrative and design direction for warframe that I believe it's gonna be expanded for a few years at least, and will be crucial until the end of Man in the Wall arc.
Major Rusalka may not be wearing Saryn suit, but I can see hints of design similarities, and think that among those expansions we will see more people joining the Mall and getting their Warframe suits. Maybe not Hex directly, because it's pretty clear that Hex is named that because it has 6 members exactly.
But that Mall is TOO big for just 6 Hex characters and maybe Albrecht. I'm pretty sure it's the biggest Hub so far... Well, maybe Cetus technically is bigger because of all the shore space, but that area is populated by NPCs unlike the mall.
It's also a great reason to sell more Gemini skins. I expect Ash, Saryn, Rhino, Ember, Frost and Loki before we're done with Gemini skins. And I expect at least some of them to first appear as enemies in 1999
12:48 I mean, they do call them Batches in reference to the type of Warframe from whom they share powers. Who knows. Could still come across Hayden Tenno and his team. Maybe toss in one of those robots that became Jackal of the Corpus or the charging beast that became Rhino as a Rhino batch member who mutated too far.
Sol just means sun
Id love if they expanded the protos to every frame, similar to how they are doing heirlooms they would add one new one every now and then. not sure if that would make and frames lore not make sense but just as an idea i personally would like it as a fashionframe enthusiast
makes sense if you consider them made after the Warframes as Albrecht trying to make a army against the man in the wall as shown in his notes
"Every frame" is going to be a nightmare, but I can see them at least going up to update 6 or 7 in term of releases (meaning adding Ember, Loki, Rhino, Ash, Frost, U7: Saryn, Banshee and Vauban in addition to the already shown members of the Hex).
@@cdgonepotatoes4219 yeah and thinking of xaku makes me wonder how they would pull it off, still id love to see more done as to me its such a cool concept and adds more emotion to each frame if you get what i mean. like arthur embodies excal and now excal has more depth on his whole image due to arthurs personality.
@@yokai1235 as long as it doesnt retcon lore im up for as many frames possible, although some like caliban and xaku would be very interesting
@@Niernatsu If they ever reach up to Xaku, perhaps we could see what were meant to be the three original frames that ended up together in an episode of "will it blend?", or more likely another excuse would be pulled as to why the character is an amalgamation of three... experimenting with triplets, maybe? Just to further push the envelope that "Entrati does aim to save the world, but he remains an Orokin by heart".
Well, I'm certain we won't be reaching that point anyway so there's no worry bearing witness to such a murder of character, I'd rather "my Albrecht" be more virtuous than the other blue men.
I think the fact that we were already aware, atleast vaguely, of what the the main subjects they were going to talk about were is also part of the reason this one worked so well. They didn't have to spend any time introducing us to the ideas like they were something new, and the marketing and theming could be done in a more indepth way because it could assume the audience had atleast an awareness of 1999 (and soulframe).
There are different strains of the infestation
Technocite affects technology allowing them to control devices
Hemlith is the most docile used to make warframes along side repair them,
Mutalist strain was a reversed engineered Technocite that can now feed and mutate non biological matter, thanks to alad v
Then there was one that makes one mutate into something big( I forgot the name)
16:17 they literally sayd no in tennocon as one of the first things at the start of the main event after Arthur got up and saw the plane.
Regarding the Scaldra, it appears to me like Entrati has employed them to contain the infestation and eliminate any "failed attempts" that are the Hex & co, as the dommy lady mentions receiving orders from "the doktor" (they're not failed and he's just throwing bodies against them for... whatever reason).
Even with the Warframes we know they used agents to weed out the weak. In Ivara’s case, they had a criminal turned mercenary hunting down the warframes to take out the weakest links as it were. Also, interestingly enough, the corrosive chemical they use is apparently the same one from Dark Sector that was said to be able to burn/eat away Technocyte growths.
Sol is our suns name
Calling it but Major Rusalka is going to be Saryn Protoframe 😅
Sevagoth prime is thiccc and i am so happy about it
Other thing I noticed with the caliban rework is that it seems that the conculyst pick up and use fusion strike (his 4th) as well when you trigger it
They gave me a Zastava Arms M70 Prime.
The way that the player may end up in 1999 is probably the Helminth thingy vomiting out an Excalibur at the end of the gameplay demo.
They may have had ways to "help Arthur" gain leads on Albrecht before by taking temporary control of his body and jotting down locations as opposed to body jacking him but eventually the Chosen Operator still needs a surrogate body in 1999 to properly carry out activities and the Helminth thing vomiting a fresh frame out could be it.
i doubt that helminth spits us out. i think the helminth in 1999 is a perfected helminth. already infused with dna of the og warframes, it basically became a warframe dispenser. cause the warframe pulled out an exaulted sword and clashed with arthur. if we were spat out as like...caliban or something, we wouldn't be able to do that.
it probably got renamed to Origin system when the Orokin were trying to get to Tau, in the Conclave there is a some imagery about the sun and moon, if it means anything.
Hard coping about dark sector.
F*ing up the singing is SO. REAL. Also On-Lyne is . . really good music honestly, holy bajolie (yes im late)
Funny how things have come full circle with Warframe 1999.
Im so happy they are incorporating dark sector into warframe. The original concept of the game actually getting a chance to shine is truely something all the OG have waited for.
Slightly angry that I farmed out 2 Calibans only for a free one to drop and his Prime is not too far out but... minion builds are sick!
Djinn already has its pre-infested form in the Gazelle(?) skin, matched with a machete. A prime version is stupid easy to formulate.
listening to this b4 I head back into missions
I mean, build the default Revenant and feed it to the Walnut
Yknow, I really hope Warframe and 1999 are the dame universe, but with the Indifference it could feasibly separate timelines
Sol is the Norse goddess of the sun
we ARE taking control of Arthur, talk to Nyx at the relay she talks about how she knows were in there. also my best guess is that excal near the end was a successful subject in the Excalibur "batch" entrati made
How did we go back in time? Eternalism, we don't have to go further than that.
Sol can also refer to our system, we are sol 3 the third of the planet with our sun so who knows!
Personally I prefer the time travel version of this story instead of the alternate universe stuff. The idea that the Infested outbreak, Warframes, the Tenno, and more are all indirectly or directly influenced by one (possibly) mad scientist who has gone to extreme lengths to prevent something that he doesnt fully understand to the point he has traveled through time.
At least that universe still has Half-Life
If I were to throw a guess. I think Warframe: 1999 is going to dive more into the potential timelines and effects of the void (and consequences from making a deal with the Man in the Wall). "Void Magic" is not really properly explained or developed so hopefully from all of this we can get a better explanation involving the fundamental rules of the world of Warframe instead of DE just constantly adding things for the sake of "it seems cool enough".
The best we know is the past can be re-explored and re-written as long as it's not "calcified" into the void, but at the same time I wonder if 1999 is indeed outside the reach of even the Void and Entrati found another way to time travel that doesn't rely on it to escape its reach (though in the end he still ended up carrying a little hitchhiker inside his head). It seems counterproductive if 1999 is a pocket of the void that merely recreates an area of the time period like Duviri, so I'm thinking it really is the past that simultaneously did and didn't happen that's adding things to the present without truly affecting the past, or maybe it did affect the past but the Scaldra's efforts successfully limited the consequences of this rewriting of history to just the city of Höllvania.
16:16 Due to the laws of eternalism yes and no
I will admit, I'm still deeply upset about Hayden Tenno not being part of 1999, just becuase the idea that the Tenno got their name from some random dude from 1999 would be hilarious.
just fyi, 1999 is not the same universe as warframe, albrecht went into a new timeline/universe to 1. get away from wally and 2. try his protoframe experiment on people
I actually don’t have base epitath so the prime version gonna be crazy for my kullervo
not a big caliban player but i played him a fair bit, sad to see his spEeEeeeEeen is still present but let's see how it goes
Tbh as someone who loves sevy and is super excited about his prime i was caught very off guard by it. My theory about it is, that sevagoth was originally intended to be released with lavos back in 2020. So maybe they want to try to execute their first plan with the frames? Grendel and guass prime were back to back. Protea was released i think the same month her base was released back in 2020. Lavos was december, and we may be getting lavos prime either late november or early december. I hope its lavos over xaku cause base xaku IS cracked. Lavos and sevy both need very heavy investment and they cant crush level cap as easily as xaku can. So powerwise xaku needs it the least out of all 3 of them. But if it is lavos after sevy, im heavily inclined to think xaku will be after lavos. We'll just have to see. I am super confused about the situation as a whole though. Are they breaking the prime schedule? Are they changing it? What EXACTLY is the thought process for the decision they made? Is it still hype? Yeah absolutely. Is it still wack? Yeah still absolutely lmfao 😂
Sol is just spanish for sun
Entrati must have imparted the Orokin spiritualistic religion. Sol is the sun, in balance with Lua the moon
Sol is another name for the sun.
Eternalism means all universes exist, your choices are what decide which universe line you go to as shoen in that zariman test.
1999, warframe, and dark sector are likely alternate universes of the same thing.
This might be why the technocyte and warframes have different origins and forms in these universes.
1999: albrecht and the infested do something that results in 1999.
Warframe: is warframe.
Dark sector: the technocyte is made in modern day and also gives the user strange powers if they remain sane. It also grows armor on your body.
Maybe the dark sector skins were from some sort of eternalism experiment or an accident that resulted in certian materials being brought into warframe hence why the protoforms origins are stated to be unknown.
Sol is the Latin name for the sun, just btw
bro Sol and Lua are the name of OUR sun and moon IRL. Its not a warframe thing haha
From what we know albrecht chose this time line because it's the weakest point in time for wally and uh
I want the incarnation stug so badly pls DE
Tennocon was way too short for real
Excalibur arrives by a wormhole that is a literal worm.😮
No, that’s an Evolved Helminth (which is technically its own strain) whose been exposed to the Technocyte Strain of the Infested Virus. Just as the one in our ship can replicate warframes for our foundry, these can recreate warframes to defend itself.

ok I want to point out that if you at where the Höllvania relay is located it's in eastern Europe
Also the Hex can't see you, except Eleanor who can sense you but that's because she's psychic. She also has a line asking what a "Mara Lohk" is, which could imply that we may have brought Wally with us
Also Half Life
Also wth is going on with the lighting of your Volt fashion
Pretty sure the implication of the Mara Lohk line is that she's sifting through our memories. She also has a line that refers to a "Three-faced goddess" who has a "shadow" on her, which is a clear reference to the Lotus post-New War and the interest that the Indifference has taken in her.
I know hes talking about the game...but why did you not mention the Yareli Cosplayer
Because people are currently angry about it, probably didn’t wanna start any arguments in the comments
I will probably just sell the caliban tbh i just dont like his design
Soulframe definitely has potential but they need to have to have a look at the gameplay again, its horribly horrible and not something you'd ever want on a darksoul esq game, looks more jankier honestly and I hope they do an overhaul on it.
That being said, I'm hyped for 1999, I actually played ds back then before warframe and took me awhile to connect it with warframe lol.

Translated from Danish, Höllvania means "Holland" which points to the west coast of the Netherlands. Curiously enough, Albrecht also fits like a glove with Dutch nomenclature, so we can safely place the inspiration of the setting over there. The world is still different from ours, as an example all the graffiti and flavour text placed all around uses what we know to be the orokin script, so probably neither the countries and border lines look similar or should even matter.
