This is a very competent conductor who enthusiastically places high demands on the choir. This leads to an excellent performance, certainly after long preparation. This choir and this conductor should take a world tour, but first ask for advice from a French couturier.
Perfect. Absolutely gorgeous. God be praised! 🙏🏼 EDIT: Apparently, this is an amateur choir... All the more astounding. This is of the highest professional quality. Such wonderful dedication to God.
The most crystal clear rendition of this Mass come to my ears! The balance is prefect! Am interested in the arrangement of voices: are they mixed among each other - perhaps so that each voice can hear each other better (in most large choir performances the basses tend to be at the back where we cannot hear the sops and we rely solely upon the conductor - not always successfully).
Hello. Thanks for the comment. I am a Tenor I from this choir. To your question: We have tried to sing in a "classical" standing SATB, but very soon (now its 10 years we sing together) we have decided to this "chaotic" standing. It has no system at all. We have focused only on two things that mattered for us: 1. no singer has a mate from his own voice group shoulder to shoulder and 2: everybody has a right to say I want to sing beside/behind/in front of this guy or I do not want to sing so close to that guy. And - well, it works for us. We enjoy it (nad still - we are amateurs - so - teachers, doctors, managers...rehearsing once in a week for 2 hours) - we are now forced to know our part better, we can hear and react to other voices, we better understand music and of course, it helped us to hold the tuning :-) Thanks again.
This chaotic standing arrangement is actually a very good tool for choirs consisting of mainly beginner to amateur singers to achieve a better overall balance. And for this music it makes even more sense exactly for that reason. It forces everybody to listen for the other voices and thus put more focus on incorporating their own singing into the choir sound and performance as a whole. And as mentioned by @ivarvacula4536 the added "apprehension" of singing on your own in a group of other voices also helps to keep in tune. Once you move past amateur singers into semi-professional and professional levels some choirs/conductors might still prefer the chaotic standing arrangement, but there are also clear benefits to being able to focus stronger on perfecting blend with your neighbors in a block arrangement. Once during a CD recording the choir I sang in tried the chaotic standing arrangement to achieve a bit more transparency in one piece. Verdict from the sound engineer: "Yes lovely, much lighter, but I am missing the voice blend that you normally achieve so easily. So let's try again in block." In the end it the better result with this choir was to keep the block arrangement and just change the approach to the interpretation. Good job on the performance!
Bravissimi. Esecuzione perfetta. Commuove ascoltare musiche cosi celestiali
Heavely Music !! God Bless

Beautiful, tempo is a bit uneven, too fast in a few spots and a bit too slow in others. Still a good performance.
