Btw, I'm brazilian and I'm glad you enjoyed your time in Fortaleza. Unfortunately, as you explained in the video, the city is not safe to walk around anymore. It used to be when I was a kid, but a lot has changed over the years. The stuffs you bought are super special and unique. Good choice!
Fortaleza is actually 85F every single day of the year and has a cool breeze. Best weather in the world. The city is the capital of Ceara state at the beach, but there is a whole different world upstate, much like the southwestern US, desert like, cattle ranchs, rough cowboys dressed in leather, typical food, etc. Fantastic beaches and huge dunes a little away from the city. The dune buggies are famous. Few tourists stay at the city itself.

Fortaleza is a lovely, polite n friendly people, very sadly discriminated and unrealistic sabotaged city. with unreal considerations . is actually a amazing city.

It's a small small world. Al is your dad? He sits on our table every night. All of our table friends are like a family. We visit every night. He is a very sweat and nice man. I cannot believe this. Out of all of the people on the ship we are sitting every night with your dad. How cool is that!!

You are really relaxing into being a tour guide :)! That was so interesting - a bit gnarly near the port (not unexpected), but that Mercado looked fascinating - it reminded me a bit of Stanley Market in Hong Kong (who knows, you may be going there?!). I saw really nice handbag right when you went into the mercado - I'd have had one of those in heartbeat - I thought you were going to look at it as the camera stayed on it for a second haha!. Great advice on how to minimise your appeal to locals with bad intentions - I have been to some pretty interesting places off the beaten track and find you develop a good 6th sense radar - keep your wits about you and don't take obvious risks - but also don't let fear stop you from doing things. I always keep my passport, insurance and some money in a money belt under my clothes. Enjoy your sea day and look forward to catching up with you in Recife :)

You can get Brazilian money with a US debit card in any ATM in Brazil. Safe and a good exchange rate.
