It warms my heart to see the performances of people who LOOK LIKE ME in this profession. It gives me drive to continue studying my best at classical repertoire and opera music! Thank you each so much for inspiring me. Vive le Opera Noire!!!!!
Ohhhhhh, tears of love and reverence for an art form where these artists who have dedicated their lives to transcending and uplifting humanity can be had. BRAVO/BRAVA/BRAVI!!!!
I've been an opera fan since my teens as my sister Patricia studied opera. I'm totally blown away by the talent of these African American artists. My hope is that the African American populace will appreciate the talent of these singers and migrate to opera and less to rap. What beauty!
This is wonderful singing! ..a few GREAT ones, as well. I hope that more of the arias aren't taken just from the Italian opera reportoire, though. It would be nice to hear some other attempts in the Wagner and Strauss reportoires.
If these people are not singing in legitimate opera houses- they should be, everyone of them. These performances and performers would grace any theatre on the planet.
I hope we will someday soon see the next Leontyne Price or Jessye Norman come out of this company. Furthermore, the next Simon Estes though maybe as a tenor version of that gentleman.

Back by popular demand after being featured in two different concerts last summer at Union Chapel in Oak Bluffs, MA on the beautiful island of Martha's Vineyard. Vineyard Playhouse presents, on August 25, 2011 ONNY with just a pianist and eight World Class Singers, who are superb in Classical, Broadway, Arts Songs, Spirituals and acting abilities. With short narratives interspersed throughout the night, the performers, singing in Italian, German, French, and English
I unashamedly wept with pride and joy as I listened to the glorious sounds of these wonderful, talented artists. Ramferrando, thank you so very much for posting this glorious video on TH-cam.
accompanied by Kevin Miller. Come and enjoy a day on the beach and a night at the opera with ONNY on the beautiful island of Martha's Vineyard on August 25th. Information at the Vineyard Playhouse.
Estelle De Coultré I was hinking the same thing...while I love black women voices (Shirley Verret, Jessye N etc..) I find the double standard in regards to the approch of an "OperaBlache" idea and what it would cause...and the "NOIR" does not....BIZARRE
I took my young daughter to see this show , it was an excellent show. We both enjoyed it very much.

I wish you could perform a cantata by Carl Johnson back in the mid 80’s named THE GREAT REDEMPTION: A Sacred Cantata!!!
wow they have such amazing voices! Do you have the whole video?
Are they in New York? Where can I go see them. Its in my bucket list. 💝
Forgive me, but a cast list that looked like a list would have been a big help.
Didn't know that there were so many black opera singers
Oh yes, and there are many more in full force.
