It was good to see you again Nathan, we had a lot of fun at Jake's place, and thanks for mentioning our channel. For you folks that don't know it, among other things, Nathan is a master drone pilot, he flew in some very high winds and tight spaces around Customsawyer's place, and never had a problem.
A master drone pilot. I suspected as much, seeing all those (addictive) wide landscapes that Nathan shows at the end of his videos, with soaring views that are yet languid and dreamy, with perfectly matched background music. Psychedelic experience with no harmful side effects! Thank you!
@@harimuzumdar8269 Absolutely he's a master drone pilot, coming from a licensed private pilot myself, the almost near miss with the bird was so awesome.
Glad he mentioned you in this video, now Hobby Hardwood of Alabama Rober Milton just got a new subscriber as well as Mr. Jake
Man oh man!! I'm glad you didn't forget and leave us at that rest stop there on the top of the mountain! It was gettin chilly up there! LOL
Thanks for taking the time to come by. It was great seeing you my friend.
You are correct with most of the equipment. The Slabmizer is actually set up to do 18 ft long. I haven't tried one that long but it is in the near future. Looking forward to the rest of your videos. Keep up the great work.
I had no idea you were connected to Nathan. I don't think it is a coincidence that entrepreneurs eventually cross paths and find each other. I enjoy both channels.
I will definitely check out Robert's channel. I learn a ton from you guys.
Such a cool sawmill! I'm looking forward to seeing it in operation in your next videos. I'm sure you got lots of ideas for expanding your operation as well.
Good road trip and looking forward to the rest of the videos and interviews with those guys. That's a pretty big operation they have. Thanks for sharing with us. Fred.
That is a really nice saw mill. I enjoyed the tour of the mill. Looking forward to the next videos. Thank Nathan 👍👍👍❤️
Very cool! Enjoy seeing other operations! That's a BIG operation!
Sure like the look of those rolling hills out your way. Jake is a busy man with that fulltime lumber mill set up he has. His years of experience is something that would be a great resource of knowledge for people to learn from. Wish he had more time for videos. Looking forward to your up coming video or videos of what he has going on this weekend!
Nice Change of pace. Great vid. Thank you!
Awesome time Nathan!
thanks buddy
Looking forward to those videos. What an interesting sawmill. Thanks for taking us along.
That's awesome Nathan, and looking forward to seeing his sawmill in operation
I sure enjoy watching your videos, very entertaining and informative. Thanks so much.
Really interesting facility. Thanks for sharing. Be well and stay safe.
I really enjoy these sawmill tour videos.
Especially at these fuel prices. It’s cheap visiting foreign me. 😂
Wow, What an operation! But yours ain’t nothin to sneeze at Nathan! I’ve loved watching you build up your operation over these years. And I’m looking forward to the future at Nathan’s Wood Shop Station! Kind Thanks and Many Blessings! DaveyJO in Pennsylvania
Good stuff. Lots of amazing machinery
Nathan, thanks so much for these fact finding field trips. It's always good to see how the other guys do it.
Thanks for watching
You are one hell of a guy. Keep up your great work Nathan.
Wow neat set up very informative video thanks for sharing with us
Kool! I remember your trip there last time, because of the impressive sawdust collection unit! That fella sure has had some practice with that fork lift!---Loved the road trip!
I hope you didn't leave any water stains on the equipment from the drool as you were filming!
I sure do envy your traveling to places like this, I come from a logging/sawmill family and owned a few mills in my times... never a band saw mill as this is many years ago
Boy are you correct on that one!!!! You RARELY get a chance to see a 20 friggin inch jointer!!!!! Let alone one as nice as a SCMI, I've used quite a few of their machines and every single one of them is TIP TOP!! I got a chance to run a 4 sided moulding SCMI at a cabinet shop I worked at for quite a few years. Which is something you kinda need to use a machine like that, years and years of experience!!!!! They are EXTREMELY easy to set in the incorrect way and when you do that it can chew up a board in seconds or worse yet, it can destroy part of itself!!! That jointer requires just as many years, if not MORE!!!! ANY jointer is tricky to use, but one that size will end not only your woodworking career, but also your ANYTHING career!!!!!
Great tour my friend!!! I'm looking forward to the next vid!
Thanks for watching
@@OutoftheWoods0623 I've been hooked since the very 1st vid I SAW almost 3 years ago!!!!
Heck of a set up. Looks like he's on top of it. 👍
I'm so glad you didn't leaves all there in the cold. LOL
wow! Cant wait to see more!
Impressive setup. Killer fork lift!
If you're going to run a big business that requires machines, you obviously need very high quality and dependable REALLY BIG MACHINES. What a great operation, thanks for showing it.
Impressive machine arsenal!
Great video, thank you, RB, Nova Scotia.
Thanks for watching!
Good morning to all from SE Louisiana 14 Apr 22.
Thank you Nathan for taking us along with you to the Mill of Jakes Double LT70's, quite impressive, I kept thinking during the video, how does he control surface rust, I noticed moisture and puddles so I am guessing it is quite damp under that open air roof. Also Nathan, very important that you know I among many others greatly appreciate your endless long hours editing videos. As a long term Patreon Member I am proud of you and what you have done with your channel, Truly am proud to follow this amazing journey.
Thanks buddy
I enjoy watching your videos keep up the good work
Great video, very excited to see your next ones, cheers Nathan

My wish list just grew
He has a hell of an operation, I was admiring :)

I really enjoyed this video and can't wait to see some more about that sawmill. Perty shore that overlook you stopped at is the Metcalf overlook. My wife is a Metcalf. That road went through her kinfolks land that's where the overlook got it's name. Thanks
Awesome !
Amazing facility
Agreed
Wow what a setup.
Absolutely beautiful!! Such a clean operation also!
Nice place, very tidy with that huge concrete floored open shed.
I've been to that overlook, great spot.
Thanks for watching
Awesome video
Thanks for watching
Dang, what a nice setup.
That’s some nice country.
My friend I live in the NW in Washington state, and I have to say, those aren’t mountains, those are hills. But it is pretty around your ranch, and I really enjoy your videos !
Good stuff.
Thank you brother what an awesome video
Glad you enjoyed it
Boy that's a pretty impressive operation he has going on there
agreed
Really impressive setup.
Agreed
Really nice setup that fella has. Your going to cause an argument with the wife if you keep showing all that neat equipment. I’m going to want to buy stuff for my shop.
That’s a nice setup. Can’t imagine how much those machines cost!
safe travels sir! May God watch
over you.
Thanks
Ahhh I’ve been to that overlook👍🏻 I’m lovin all your B-Role Nathan! Killin it!
or "Kiln" it...?
@@harimuzumdar8269 ahhh😆 that’s good!
Cool!!!
Awesome 😎 thanks
Thanks for watching
I like the non-pneumatic wheels he has on the JLG.
He has been in the business for many years, well established. Good tour.
Thanks for watching
Nathan, we crossed paths somewhere on the big road. Went over to Newland NC to deliver a friend a smaller used sawmill so he could start cutting his timberframe. Tell me what the poplar in that area are...they're definitely not tulip poplar trees as we have here though I did see a few. Nice and straight at the 3500' elevation!!! I liked your friends setup!!! Nice A.D. drying building!!!
OH, the telehandlers are grand in that scheme of using. I just purchased a Bobcat v518 to use at my mill!!!
Have a great week!!!
Interesting stuff Nathan 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for watching
Here in Washington State, we would call those hills, not mountains. They are lovely hills, though. 💚
I agree. I live here too.
hi there nice show looking forward to more . john
Really interesting, my friend !!
Thank you! Cheers!
Interesting tyres on that telehandler style machine.
yes sir, I think they are air less solid tires
Nice
Its amazing to me that the sawmill pays for all of that. I saw a good bit buy I dont think i could ever afford that equipment off of the saw mill alone.
He has a great setup. It nice to meet you there Nathan, even if we didn’t get a chance to talk much. trimguy
yes sir, you too, cya soon
Jakes got it goin on. He’s definitely a helova sawyer! AC
Nathan, it's nice to see you back to your normal self after the last time I messaged you.
That long lift looks like it comes in handy.
Ded blasted! Did I miss that again shoot. I will have to make it next year! Me and Ann Margaret went up and had a great visit with Stuart and his wife and on the way there got to see the redwoods and Mr. Charles Bellows. I got a put it on my calendar for next year
So nice I had to come back and watch it again :-) hard to stay away from Saw Mill porn😂😂
Took me awhile to get back home so I could say, LET'S DO IT AGAIN!!
I’m ready
Are those airless tires on the forklift?
I enjoy all you videos. This one was especially interesting. Missed the cats though.
Thanks for watching
Want that set up
You are in my part of the us. There is a ( Big lumber Co. ) just north of Appling Ga. Pollard lumber Co.
Nice 👍
I’m waiting on you to get that type of dust extractor! 😂
Cool tools 🔧 😎 👍😊🌎🌞👍
Thanks 👍
MM77 Approved 👍🏼👍🏼
That precision with the fork lift... he could probably do one of those ballet dances with excavators and other big machines. .
Agreed
Cool airless tires on the forklift... :-)
Indeed
What are your top 3 favorite blades in order? And why? The short version, please.
Nice hotel room :)
Thanks 😂😂😂
As a northerner it always blows my mind when I see all the open sided shops down south with all that expensive equipment in it. How do they prevent rust from ruining everything?
I'm in NZ and the prospect of cross winds through that shed was the first thing I thought of.
The area I'm in is really high humidity a lot of the year, so that would be problem one, then, all across the country we run into horizontal rain with snow in the deeper latitudes.
Are there at least temp wrap sidings around the sheds?
@@davebryant8050 From my point of view, it is more about how they protect the steel and iron surfaces without creating issues with other processes or staining of some products.
I'm guessing those straps were tight when the stacks went into the kiln, and the wood shrunk that much?
I'm surprised you don't have a smaller commuter car. Must be a few hundred to fill up for the round trip. But that large cypress beam makes me wonder if he can mill the timber for the roof of Notre-Dame de Paris
lot's of room, but no walls.. it's got to be cold as can be in the winter..
Not to bad in middle GA
Hi there : I’m in Cosby , have some logs that I need to do something with . I no longer have a mill and we are renovating a cabin and have some needs . Maybe we can work something out ? I’ve sent a couple comments to get in touch with you . Reach out if you can .
Does he have something like storm sidings for those sheds? I could not imagine leaving gear like that permanently exposed here in NZ without massive maintenance costs.
If these open buildings are in the woods, the trees act like baffles & are more protected than an open field... Not always, but for the most part..
May I ask what dash cam you use for your highway footage? Very nice!
go pro 10 on a mount
The largest milled timbers that I have seen were 24 inches by 12 inches by 24 foot long that was 85 years ago, I have often wondered how the were milled .
Biggest ridge beam I've milled is a 16"x28"x 29' long. All done on a 1987 woodmizer LT40 by setting up a crib on one end for multiple relocating since it only has a 21' "capacity"...
Eldred T. Glass - How old were you in 1937?
I’ve been buying wood from Robert a long time. I was wondering why he was closed Friday.
