Independence in Kenya was a rushed affair, an event that we are still reeling from 60 years later in 2024. In February 1960 in Cape Town, South Africa, then British Prime Minister, Harold Macmillan, gave his famous "Winds of change blowing through Africa" speech. Harold Macmillan's "Wind of Change" did indeed blow through Africa, including through here in Kenya, but Macmillan's "Winds of Change" blew too strong, were overall "Winds of Confusion" rather than "Winds of Change." Kenya is still in limbo, Africa as a whole. Memo to Harold Macmillan at Resting in Peace: Mr. Macmillan, is there anything you can do to alter the trajectory of the "Winds of Change?"
