Today's musical offering is The Crucifixion by Samuel Barber (1910-1981) and is sung by soloist Anastasia Swope. This work comes from his song cycle, Hermit Songs, Op. 29 that was completed in 1953. The text for The Crucifixion is from an anonymous 12th century poet.
