    You do a great job! From the precursor introduction of the history, to the camerawork as you walk in and around the Pantheon, even the commentary with all the stable/amazing angles you capture. The Pantheon is amazing, and you do a great justice highlighting it!

    Wonderful. Your enthusiasm and wonder for this magnificent building comes through strongly. Manuel Bravo's You-tube on the Pantheon is also excellent, especially concerning the use of cement and the engineering involved. I loved this video. Please continue. Good luck!

      The latin inscription on top of the pantheon says, 'Marcus Agrippa, son of Lucias, when Consul for the third time, created this building'.

    What. I don't even upload videos, but I always make sure to film at 4K when I'm out traveling, especially if it's something like this.

    9:36 "And in the top actually (the dome) has basalt". A respectful correction: basalt is a dark, very heavy volcanic rock. For the upper portion of the dome they used instead pumice ("piedra pòmez" in Spanish), a clear, foamy and extremely lightweight ashy volcanic rock that floats in water. Thanks for your video.

    I LOVE that 3 types of concrete were used to construct the dome. That was such an ingenious idea!

    What I really want to know is how the interior has changed from Roman times. Ie. how the Christians changed it when it became a church over time

    • @MattZaycYT
      @MattZaycYT 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think nothing changed. Many building the changed hands during it's history keeps the original characteristics. You can see this even in mosques that where churches before. They would not be crazy to destroy or change this important part of human history. They just used the bulging as a church. That my understanding.

    The statues at the bottom were not there. That’s where the priest would teleport up from the underworld. These monuments were built by giants ( Door/Columns).
    Standing waves
    and priest cloaks that we’re lined with a metallic layer.
    Silly 🙃 Ro

    So u are telling me that the primitives romans build this masterpiece and u want me to believe u. If it withstand 2000 years then probably withstand 4000 or 6000 years. Yea this was build by a far superior civilization
