I really like the top and bottom bezels of Sony phones, as long as they continue to make them nearly bezel-less on the sides as they are currently. I'm glad they're sticking to their aesthetic roots when it seems all others are cashing in on smartphone design trends; tiny bezels specifically. It would be nice to have a flush fingerprint sensor on the chin flanked by capacitive keys that are not visible when not illuminated though. Personal preference.
Same, I love the top and bottom bezels, I feel it gives the phone character and structure.
Can't type with a case on it... Q and P are out of reach easily.. Hate the sides
Good reviews I have to say, is the first time to see gsmarena talking good about Sony smartphone, so the main camera is looks very good details so is true is has the same sensor camera from the Xperia z5 not only that they fix it, the software looks android stock very fast and respond very well. good job Sony 👍
The XA1 in Thai (South East Asia) has an autofocus front camera.

The Sony XA2 video camera can record in slow motion but the XA1 can't? Is that correct. With the XA1 if it cannot record in slow motion can you later put videos in to slow motion with editing software? Video quality wise even though XA2 is higher spec the quality difference with XA1 is very minor from comparison footage I've seen, is that accurate? Deciding between XA1 and XA2 to buy and good video camera is a definite must for me but XA1 is lot cheaper so if only minor improvement in quality I'll go for XA1. Thanks for help!

and hier resolution doesnt always means better low resolution means more fram per second so it hasbetter performance in gaming than other phones and whats about the battery? its small but as she say its endurance is 72 h
there are phones with 3000 mah and gets less endurance time
so thats means great
and the speaker is lowd
and it camera is beat in the category

there are things more important than finger print
like camera other phones have finger print but bad camera
and you can put pin or pattern but you cant do anything to make bad camera looks good

Xperia GO some of your comments make sense but some are a bit weird and most of the things they are complaining about in this video can be achieved for cheaper, look at the Nokia 5 & 6, with better features such as stereo speakers/fingerprint scanner and 3000mah battery

Having used this as my daily driver for a while, it is decent, but the screen is horrible. You simply cannot use the edges, and it WILL infuriate you EVERY. SINGLE. DAY

I've had this phone for 2 weeks and I really like it. No battery problems, no heating issues. To be honest, the Moto G5 Plus has better specs for the same price here in the US, but I still prefer the XA1 because its overall dimensions are smaller and it's 12 grams lighter. Btw all the reviewers overlooked that both these phones have LTE Band 66 which is coming online for US carriers, and is still a rarity. Most of the flagship models don't even have it. Cheers.
Bon Confidant did you have any touchscreen issues with it? I've seen a lot of complaints about that.

I've seen those complaints too. I could be wrong but I get the impression they come mostly from people using the non-US version of the phone (not the G3123 that I use.) I don't have any touch screen problems. But, a year or 2 ago Sony told its Mobile division to either cut costs or die, so they did. So I wonder if the build quality of these phones has been affected. Cost cutting usually leads to corner cutting. Just keeping my fingers crossed.

sonys battery management system is one of the best if not the best. realy realy good my phone which has lower mah compare to other phones last longer so yah its not about the mah but ofcourse it would be better to see a larger mah battery to make it even greater.
This phone has a speaker problem and a charging problem and I have only had it for 6 months...

Look ok for a midrange phone. 23 MP can sound good. But you have to have hardware than can handle that to. Maybe i take a closer look at this to.
how did you test the color accuracy?
We use an X-rite i1 Display Pro colorimeter. We run a readout off the phone's screen using standardized color patterns using Calman ColorChecker software with the phone's screen set to max brightness. It may not be perfect, but it's proven good enough for our purposes and it has served us well so far. The sample image shown on the phone's screen in the video is there just as an example, it's not used in the color accuracy tests. Thanks for showing interest in our testing.

Andy Yu I agree but xa1 battery works like 3000mah of like other batteries I will tell you how...
all batteries are not made up of same elements!
some are li battery
some are li - ion batteries
some are li -po battery
etc...
some that's the reason why Chinese phones uses 3000mah battery... but that works like 2000 mah batteries and they are cheaper than sony batteries
sony batteries have long life term and works great...now a days it have flagship features also like QUOVO technology and stamina mode etc...Which are found in sony 700dollars + phone...then the price must have been more then!
I think you,are right about fingerprint.. that must have included in it...i dont know why they have done like this?
or else it would have been best smartphones at mid range...
though fingerprint are just for locking and unlocking purposes.. that's it
This is NOT a flagship. Also the power consumption is well optimized so it already achieves great battery life for the price.

Don't want or need fingerprint thing. No reason on this planet to put your fingerprint in cyber space. Nothing wrong with dot pattern, takes one quarter of a second

You guys need to do something about the battery life and the expansion of ram. If this improves, then people will be much more interested in buying Sony's phones.
I got this phone. It looks great. But do not expect to many about it.
Also the mighty camera is not so great. (average pictures)
The signal is not very great and the soft needs a little bit of work.
Example: It got an alarm when battery is 30%. And you CAN'T disable that alarm.
The battery life is not so great. But it should so the job
So If you just want a good looking phone like I want. Take it. It is great.
If you want performance, good signal and no lagg. This is not for you.
Ever since the Oreo update my XA1 has been dropping calls , it's become sluggish as well.. it never happened before Oreo... fix it quick sony or i'm jumping ship.

"we wish sony had more phones like this" lol they do its called the full bloody xperia line.. Ive had a z1, z3 and now on z5. Girlfriend has xa and they are all very much the same apart from a bit lighter. Not worth the upgrade YET.

usually sony phones have low internal memory.......
3GB of memory 32 GB of internal space with a SD card slot to expand
32 gb is written , but sony always gives a much reduced internal memory
like I bought Z3 with 32 gb internal but only 5-6 gb was available to use

Had to return after qwerty key sensation defect came. It was my 3rd Xperia didn’t last more than 2 years.
As a 13 year old kid, I think this is a good phone. I watched a whole movie (central intelligence) and I had only 93% battery left, I also think the 23mp camera is good although it isn't good in low light. It's a good phone, i bought it from Amazon for $140. I was a bit sceptical about the battery but it's all good definitely a good phone you all should buy!

Man the first iteration of the XA got crappy really quickly. My sister bought the white one, and I gotta admit it looked awesome, sexy AF. But with in just a few months the software was slowing down tremendously. I would have understood if it were heavy apps.. but the camera and messages app took ages to open (slight exaggeration of course )
i have my m5 dual and it was amazing but my camera broke :( i dont think repair them is the best solution cos its gonna cost me the same price as new phone. m5 dual has really good quality camera ! but im looking for budget phone rn and xa1 could be the answer. but the camera hmmmmmm. m5 dual has good quality fron facing camera and how unfortunate i am arrghh

Looks like Lenovo and Motorola winning the low budget battle. Man I want sony and HTC to keep going. but why is it so hard for them to get it right? I like my Moto G5 Plus. Cant wait to see what Moto X4 and Moto Z2 does. For now looks like Moto G5 Plus Im staying with.

This phone have a defective touch-screen,
I have 7 months of having the cell phone an in the past 2 months it's almost impossible to press letters P and L. Have to press it up to 10 times to work and the return key does not work, either. To my surprise, I enter the official Sony Xperia blog and I found hundreds of complaints having the same issue, also the notification panel stop opening 2 months ago. Sony does not recognize that the cell phone is defective. The warranty is discriminatory if one buys it in Germany it can be fixed in any country in Europe. Bought it in the Us but I live in Colombia and Sony does not recognize the warranty here

am a sony fan and i only used to buy sony phones. But had a bad experience yesterday, i bought XA1 and i cant get LTE and WCDMA signal at all.. and now i cant even get mobile data.. Only 1 day and this is my experience.. I think i had to quit sony from now it is too overrated. Everyone from my city already quit but i still had hope so i bought and this happened. I am not rich and saving money for this..i feel so sad.. I dont know what to do with it now, i bought it because i want a 4G phone and now will be impossible to sell it too..
