    Dude, was apprehensive about tackling this, but your video gave me the confidence to try it. Have always been mystified by those hidden clips, etc. I found that I only had to take off the "D" panels, and there was one clip to the passenger side about 6" in holding the headliner, which came loose with a large flat blade screwdriver. That created sufficient space for me to reach in with both arms and use a 10mm wrench to loosen the holding bolt. Had to go by feel, so using both hands at once made that easier. Same idea for putting the new one in. I found that clipping the wires off the old one between the harness and the old antenna allowed me to then pry down the clips holding the harness so I could get it out where I could see it to then remove the connectors from the old one. New connectors then plugged in and then I pushed the clips back up into the roof. Whole job took < 1 hour. Thanks so much!

    Chris, you are extremely discriptive throughout the entire process. Thank you for that.

    Thanks to your very detailed video I was able to complete this job in approximately a half an hour. Thank you!

    Insane that they designed it so you have to go through the underside for this

    Good video on this procedure. One suggestion for those attempting to do this themselves. After getting the new antenna mounted and plugged in, go up front, turn to key on, engine off, and make sure you have radio reception. It would suck to get everything back together and find out the antenna isn't fully plugged in (or doesn't work).

    Thank you for the excellent video! I just finished this procedure and it was a breeze thanks to knowing where the clips were. On my 2016 Escape, the covers on my 'C' pillar were a little different. I opted not to take them off and was able to get the job done with just enough space to (blindly) get to the screw.

    Awesome video. I have to replace my mother in laws on her 14 escape. I was really hoping it had connections back there and not one long wire. Thank you so much for making this video.

    Agree with the comment on giving me the confidence, so thanks. I also managed to create enough space by only removing 1 left side D panel, then reaching in...although I'm sure the more space to operate, the better. You breezed by the electrical connections unless I missed it- that was actually my biggest challenge, maybe because I did everything by feel- but figuring out how to release the tabs holding the plugs in was impossible, i ended up using a screwdriver to break the tabs. Anyways, job done, parts were 135$, quote from the dealer was 700$ , took me under 2 hours so a pretty good call to try.

    Thanks. Great video. My son has a 2013 Ford Focus EV hatchback that I was driving when the antenna got crunched. So it's on me to fix it and every other video took out the whole headliner (not!) or didn't make clear what they were doing. Even though your car wasn't exactly the same, I feel like it's close enough that I have the confidence to tackle the project. It's got to be easier than swapping out the lower high voltage battery, right? That was the last project I took on with his car, and it runs so this should be a piece of cake.🎉

    For anyone with a 2013 Ford Escape Titanium series, make sure you get the one that has the "With Satellite radio option." The Part number Used was DS7Z-18936-D.

    Thanks for the thorough video. Any idea if there is a torque spec for that antenna bolt? Or just “good and tight”

      No idea on torque. Just tight but don't strip it

    i just found this out of much needed help...my roof antenna is not broken but very loose. Do I really need to remove the C pillars or will just D pillar removal give enough room for the headliner space for repair. Just wondering for my pending project

    • @christopherjpeters
      @christopherjpeters  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes you can just reach in with just the D pillar out

    Thank you very much for very clear and so awesome explanation but can u help me with the website to buy the Antenna base with mast

    • @christopherjpeters
      @christopherjpeters  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The antenna was purchased from the dealer by the owner of the car. I am un sure how much it cost. But if you are looking for a website I would try rockauto.com

      Possibly but you risk putting a crease in your head longer that way.

    Was able to change the broken antanna out simple but the radio isn't picking up a station. It's just static. Everything on the radio works but it isn't able to pick a station. Any ideas?

    • @christopherjpeters
      @christopherjpeters  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The wire going from the radio to the antenna could be damaged above the head lines. I would check that first

    Do you think you'd be able to put an antenna booster there or do you have to go in and tear out the whole radio

    • @christopherjpeters
      @christopherjpeters  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've never done that so I am not sure. I imagine that the booster would need a power source so you would have to run a separate wire.
