Whenever I get mercilessly beat down by life I always seek this song, not because I was wrong or right, but because it consoles me, because it lets me know that ups and downs are a an integral part of the experience, of living.
Back in early 2019 my first born was just a few months old and I was asleep on the couch with him next to me in a bassinet. We fell asleep to one of those tv music stations that play calming music. I woke up in the middle of the night and this Matt Lawson rendition was playing. In that moment it absolutely captured all of the anxiety and fear I was having as a new dad. Part of me was so scared shitless of the future and worrying about everything that could go wrong as a new father. My boy is now almost 5, his little sister just turned 3, and our 3rd baby is on the way. Even though I'm now comfortable as a Dad, this song still grips me everytime I hear it. The subtle fear and anxiety it conveys in me is not a bad thing at all, I love it. I come back to this rendition every few months to remind myself of the fragility of the human experience.
Brain punishes when you sleep peacefully with responsibilities in your head and wake up to find that you lost time to do them, but slowly it adjusts with the environment and reality. It feels deceived by the dream state when reality was harsh and brutal, ending as your anxiety.
Gorgeous. Those violin trills...what a surprise. The cello adds a gravitas...I've been listening to Chopin's Nocturnes for decades, and have never heard them so enriched, so tenderly surprising. Thank you, Chad.
Arrangements, covers, and variations mean so much more than just altered compositions. It gives you an insight to what that one person heard when they listened to the original. This variation exemplifies just that.
+Toni Bogart-Syvrud I send a message to Chad years ago saying he was my favorite as well. He said it was so encouraging, so I'm so glad someone else has said it. It's his deft keyboarding and aura he creates. His selection of and collaboration with his other musicians is so unbelievably synnergistic. His jazz is really my favorite.
Every time I listen to this, I remember my mother who passed away two years ago. Somehow, this music brings back all the memories.. especially childhood memories.
Maravilhoso.
Alas, in each of the universes that we end up in, if only for a brief " moment" in time, a little bit of us gets left behind, a little of that place becomes entwined within us... so , moment by moment, breath by breath, (in a quantum sense), we are never the same person, even as we so fervently seek our identity and purpose in the existence that we are rooted in. Let go of your attachements, and watch the silence flow in like water to a dry field. Above all, keep going. it's worth it.
The bird landed softly, fleetingly, on the bough of the cedar tree, catching it's balance, catching it's breath. Snow fell, drifting, down, down, into a pillow of icy silence, of muted chill, of stillness embraced by anticipation, much like a blanket of expectations lain upon a newborn child, asleep, waiting to wake, in a manger of possibilities, of endless, chaotic, ineviteble chance.The bird flew away, it's wing beats stirring the snow flakes, tender, choices and decisions in atomic form, causing eddies and wakes much like regret and ebulation stir the human soul.
She placed 3rd overall but a lot of people (me too) say that she was robbed of silver. She received the highest technical mark of the competition in the free skate, but sadly the judges didn't give her the presentation score that she really deserved! She was just wonderful, performing to your wonderful music! Also considering that it was her first international senior competition and she had to overcome some health issues which put her future in figure skating in a big question. If she claims a medal at Skate America in two weeks, we might see her at the Grand Prix Final! And we're all hoping that she will be send to the Olympics (the battle is very tough in Russia)! I love her skating very much and she's such a sweet girl! Hope you going to meet her!

I wish someone mysterious and sensual and wrapped in seductive black silk would bring me a glass of cabernet, curl up by my side and listen to this silently all night.
Each note, like the partner in a quantum entanglement, coallescing, mitigating, informing, then departing as a memory of a dream yet to be. Time floats away, flies back, lands for a minute, a second, a miniscule universe of possibilities, all wrapped up in the space that Planck dreamed of... is still dreaming of, you are that dream, dreaming of dreaming of dreaming of ...Each note, like the partner in a quantum entanglement, coallescing, mitigating, informing, then departing as a memory of a dream yet to be. I'm sure some people would dislike this just because it's an interpretation of a "sacred" piece of music ;

Nocturne, just close your eyes and turn this on it could get you to any place you wish.
I'm here because of Polina Tsurskaya's magic free program, today at the NHK Trophy.

heard your music from the latest Stanford Channel that discussed about the Butterfly Effect (EB). Hope they find a cure for that man.
