Great show ! Can you do a segment on what options the Raps have with Quickly ? Ideally he comes back healthy and stays that way. But realistically he is very injury prone and we need to free up cap space for next season with someone who can actually play. Or is getting his contract off the books even possible at this point ?
He's had some terrible luck this season but you're way too early with the "get his contract off the books" talk. BBQ Jak Dick could be a starting 6 seed (maybe 5-7?) in the East next season, and the bench pieces who are staying look pretty decent too.
We trade Jakob and we may as well tank for another 3 seasons. This team was terrible for 3 seasons without a true centre and this would be honestly suicide.
we gotta remember the value back for bruce brown has to be more than the value of dumping his salary in the offseason. if we get a second round pick and some bad contracts it’s probably not even worth it.
@luca i think the raptors should not trade jakob this year, but wait till next season when he is an expiring with player option at the end of 2026 so they can get two 2nds and some bad filler back. it will be like fred vanvleet 2.0. maybe masai let jakob go to ufa and lose him for nothing after giving up a top 8 protected 1st and two 2nds for jak.
I don't think Jak is moving unless the offer is jus too good. Who is going to fill in at the 5? Brown needs to move to finally wrap up the Spicy P era, not sure really anything coming back for Brown at this point though. Boucher, maybe a 2nd round pick and filler? Boucher deserves to go play somewhere with a playoff shot. K.O.? Again, only if the offer is good, I can see a contending team look to add him (OKC? G State?).
oh and you didn't mention Mitchell, I think he could get moved simply because IDK if the Raptors will spend enough to keep him and a D hustle guy could be in demand.

@@pgauleygale I hope so. But this has been the problem with Quickly last season. And even before he got to Toronto.

Dumping Browns salary in the offseason won't create cap space, because Scotties extension kicks in next year.
