Serum is the only major misplacement. It's hard to say everyone is using the same sounds when it's the synth with the most extensive banks and preset market in the industry, so there's just way too much stuff out there for it to get overly samey. It's my bread and butter sound design synth, I don't even really rely on other banks. A tier at worst I feel. The noise OSC doubles as a sampler, and you can dump atmospheres and stuff in there so you can do some crazy textural sound design stuff in it. Main ones missing are LennarDigital Sylenth, Reveal Sound Spire, and Arturia Pigments 3.

I get it's a personal list, but for anyone trying to make their own synth purchases based on this video, I think it's worth the callout on Serum specifically to not overlook it based on popular preset usage. It's popular for a reason. But also, A tier is just my opinion, just like C tier is his opinion. So just two opinions floating on the internet. He even said he would have potentially placed it differently in the past, so it could be different again in the future. I'm here to relight that spark.
@@randomchannel323 For real, Serum FX as a standalone Effects Rack plugin is goated as well. I like the distortion modules and compressor in it. I use it on a lot of stuff that aren't even synths.
I would put omnisphere in D tier honestly it has some nice sounds but so many of them can't be used in songs cause they're just weird. Plus the crazy price

YO! Synplant!!! Most underrated VST I've ever come across, been around for a decade and it's still better than most. Microtonic is another secret weapon of mine I use in almost every track. Sonic Charge is great with their support too, amazing free additions and updates.
I agree w most, you have a good ear. although I’m a young OG so Triton would go more toward the top just because lol. What’s crazy is I expected to get put onto hot new VSTs but it seems like almost everything anyone is using has been out for 10+ years. We need some new classics. Going to get more into Kontakt now.

I would put serum in S tier just because of what u can make and the FX is really configurable

to be fair zenology and wavestation are pretty similar with the difference wavestation got some crazy drum and perc loops, that D tier hurts to see😭
