Interview mit Tamatoa Tepuhiarii.
Tamatoa ist ein derzeitiger Student und angehender Doktorand in Anthropologie aus Mā'ohi Nui (Französisch-Polynesien). Er arbeitet an mehreren Projekten zu nuklearer Gerechtigkeit und der Aufarbeitung der Zeit der Atomtests, insbesondere im Pazifikraum. Eines dieser Projekte, die "Jugendbildungsinitiative zu Klimawandel und Atomtests", wurde 2024 mit dem PACEY-Preis ausgezeichnet.
Die IPPNW Deutschland führte das Interview am Rande der zweiten Vertragsstaatenkonferenz (2MSP) des Atomwaffenverbotsvertrags (AVV).
Das Interview ist Teil des Projekts To Survive is to Resist, das die Perspektive der Überlebenden in die deutsche Öffentlichkeit einbringen soll. Überlebende waren von Beginn an Kämpfer*innen für ein Verbot dieser Waffen und stehen bis heute mit ihrem Wissen über die Folgen im Zentrum der weltweiten Bewegung.

Interview with Tamatoa Tepuhiarii.
Tamatoa is a current graduate and prospective Ph.D. student in Anthropology from Mā'ohi Nui (French Polynesia). He is engaged in serveral projects on nuclear justice and the accounting for the nuclear testing period, especially in the Pacifics. One of those projects, 'Educational Youth Initiative on Climate Change and Nuclear Testing' was awarded with the PACEY Award in 2024.
IPPNW Germany conducted the interview at the second Conference of States Parties (2MSP) to the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW).
The interview is part of the ‘To Survive is to Resist’ project, which aims to bring the perspective of survivors to the German public. Survivors have been campaigners for a ban on these weapons from the very beginning and are still at the center of the global movement today with their expertise on the consequences.
